[QUOTE="Gregdawg08"]That I agree with. Change the formula. We're due.MaceKhanJust so that we're all on the same page here, when you say "change the Zelda formula" do you mean change to a completely brand new formula, or change the existing formula?
I mean just get something other than 3 items then 3-6 items formula. Make it like 5 items then 2 items then 3 more items or something. But I want them to keep the midevel formula, that's perfect as is. I do not want a modern Zelda.

Then I agree with you.I've already played through OoT to the point of memorization years ago. I'd love a rerelease/port of Master Quest seeing as I never had a chance to play it though.
For all of the people hating on Twilight Princess: Do you even remember how almost every single Wii owner on this site went ape**** when the score was 8.8? Just because it has for some reason become fashionable to hate a Zelda game for being a Zelda game doesn't hide the fact that almost everyone seemed to have enjoyed it despite the flaws(mainly lack of difficulty and sidequests).
The formula that OoT used was in previous titles as well. The only difference was that OoT was in 3D(doesn't really change the Zelda formula of exploring dungeons and killing monsters. It mainly changes the execution)
TP is and isn't a remake.
The music was remade into sucky wolf-howls to get special moves, most of which are useless.
Horse had combat on it, but in the game you can teleport faster.
teleportation is boring, no music from OoT
TP had lots of the characters from OoT, just in different contexts.
OoT was made 15 Years Ago and is still the best game ever made and if they remade it they would have to make it TOTALLY different (temple structures, Environments, etc...)
It should be Harder in the easy temples (dodongo cavern, fire temple, spirit temple).
This is the only way to remake it successfully

i dont know about all of the rest of the world but i think tht by the next nintendo console they should remake one of the best zeldas of all time... ocarina of time... if they were to remake this awesomely cool game with better graphics and everything what extras tht werent in original would u like to see... i think fights with ganondorf should be like motion cencored...BrianX94
I would have to agree. I am an all time Legend of Zelda fan.

No, no, I didn't necessarily mean I agreed with Gregdawg08's example, I meant that I agreed with revising the formula instead of completely changing the formula.[QUOTE="Wintry_Flutist"][QUOTE="MaceKhan"][QUOTE="Gregdawg08"]Just so that we're all on the same page here, when you say "change the Zelda formula" do you mean change to a completely brand new formula, or change the existing formula?[QUOTE="MaceKhan"][QUOTE="Gregdawg08"]That I agree with. No, no, I didn't necessarily mean I agreed with Gregdawg08's example, I meant that I agreed with revising the formula instead of completely changing the formula.Of course the basics had to be kept, otherwise it wouldn't be Zelda.
But saying changing the "geometry" of the game is enough... well, tha's just too wrong.
Honestly, at this point, I don't care. I'm tired of waiting for a 3-5 year span for the next "real" Mario or Zelda, while having to bust out the N64 or spend a few bucks on the Virtual Console. Two things need to change here: Nintendo's focus on casual games and cashing in on Nostalgia, and the "fans" who are so easily dissapointed.
They've already released 2 ports of OoT on the Gamecube, who cares about a graphic update. Super Mario 64 DS was great and everything, I think it's a fantastic remake, but it wasn't really neccesary was it? And God knows when we'll see Mario Party 9, as well as the original 3 coming to the Virtual Console. My point is that Nintendo lost the innovative style of their after N64, mind you the games are still great, and they do make improvements, but Mario Galaxy isn't NEARLY the revolutionary step that SM64 was, although people want to belive it is. They can't evolve the series and make them better, bacause they have been taken as far as possible.
But the worst, and I mean the WORST thing about this industry, as well as with movies and comic books and what not, are the hellishly demanding fans. They are completely ridiculous. Wind Waker is trying to be different, but it's "kiddy", Twilight Princess is dark and mature, but it's "the same". I mean what do you want? A mature "kiddy" Zelda game? Look at Mario Sunshine. Did people actually think that game would be as "big" as Mario 64, I sure didn't. It's what I expected and what I wanted, I was happy. Same thing with Twilight Princess. Meanwhile, Super Mario World is hailed as a classic for being essentially Super Mario Bros. 3 with better graphics and Yoshi. Look, I love Super Mario World, but that is just a saddle-bag of bulls***.
Bottom Line: Just appreciate what you get, enjoy Zelda. I haven't seen fans this unreasonable since Spider-Man 3 or Indiana Jones 4 (For God's sake, don't argue with me about how "bad" those films are).
Didn't we just get a remake...I think it was called twilight princess?goblaaFirst of all they are both great games and they aren't really that much alike, so everyone stop being so down on tp.
Secondly, I don't think Nintendo should waste their creativity remaking older games, when they can make a brand new adventure. And OOT was already recreated technically, with Master Quest.
Personally, I would rather like to see Nintendo make a Zelda Online game with the whole Ocarina of Time world and the playable races being the six great races from the game - Gerudo, Shiekah, Zora, Hylia, Kokori and Goron. They could recycle models and towns from the original game if they wanted to, too, and add onto the world and make it bigger and more expansive.
My point is that Nintendo lost the innovative style of their after N64nintendork12345You are leaving out all of the major leaps they made on the Gamecube. Whether you just don't like the system or love it like me, you can't possibly deny the changes they made to almost every single one of their major franchises.
Mario - add the water pack and goop you have to clean up with it. Luigi - Go all ghost-busters on Boos and other new ghosts. Zelda - Cel-shaded all the way, baby! Metroid - Gone 3D AND 1st-person. Fire Emblem - 3D. Nintendo Wars - 3D and RTS (if sucky). Mario Kart - 2 people on one kart. Star Fox - Dinosaur world, adventure game. Donkey Kong - Bongos...etc etc.
My point is, don't simply write the Gamecube off as if it never happened, because it made a lot of fun and interesting changes to popular series. That was innovativeness if I ever did see it! I can't agree more with you about Galaxy, though - if anything it was a step backwards with game control, and to a lesser extent the way all of your beams and other weapons are now stacked in Metroid Prime 3. It just dumbs down the games and insults smart gamers. And a lot of us here are smart gamers, I know we are.
lol wow i didnt think id get so many replies to this forum anyway even if u dont want a remake wut new thing would u like to expect in a remake anywayBrianX94I would have liked to see more of what the Shiekah looked like before they dwindled down to Impa, and I also would have liked to see what other male Gerudo would have looked like. Perhaps, after you beat the game, you could have gone around Hyrule witnessing how all of your good deeds had paid off. The world would probably be a little different, without Ganon's presence.
Only if they can do the following things:
Make the game CHALLENGING this time around.
Get rid of Navi. (or, have an option to mute her)
Implement a semi-deep combat system. It's sad when Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry have evolved so much and Zelda insists on sticking to mindless button-mashing.
Those three things would turn the mediocre Ocarina of Time into a decent game.
[QUOTE="goblaa"]Didn't we just get a remake...I think it was called twilight princess?Gregdawg08
No. TP was made from the OoT formula, but was pretty original and so much better. I hate how people say that.
But yes, they should remake it like they did with Mario 64. The graphics, gameplay, and challenges were all better than the oringinal on the DS version.
he was being sarcastic....i think....... am right goblaa? We don't need a remake imo. I want something fresh, which is what we are supposed to get with this "new Zelda" according to Nintendo. I wouldn't pay $50 usd for a remake just because it has waggle, and upgraded gfx. No way in hell would I.
As for TP being OoT remade...lets get real.
I honestly didn't care for the game, but it's not a remake. It uses everything that OoT did, but makes it better. (Controls, gfx, etc.) Yes, 90% of the music was remixed OoT (let alone Zelda tunes), but SMG didn't do the same? Hell, pretty much every game in the series are remakes besides the originals (Zelda 2d/OoT 3d). They started the series, and everything since whether it be 2d/3d has been for the most part....the same.
Again, I didn't like the game but think before you all bash it.
I didn't like it because it was a barren wasteland of empty void, and a pathetically easy excuse for a game. I could care less if they change the formula or not. Just give me somewhat of a challenge, interesting storyline, and things to do besides walk around and enjoy the view.

danger_ranger95
i would rather see it on the DS sort of like Super Mario 64 DS
SUPER_FLY_
I agree. It would be so awesome to see it on the DS! The touch screen could be used for the item selection and the aiming. I am tired of all the remakes of OOT for the consoles. They released OOT, then the master quest, then the collectors edition, and you can even get on the VC. While I would love to see a wii version, I think Ninty should just concentrate on a new one.
