Wel I did this for The Legend of Zelda and it did wuite well (like ten pages of posts) so I decided to do it for Star Fox.

1. Have a great story with good cinimatic seens (not too long though)

2. Great control scheme, not half-baked like a lot of Wii games.

3. Make it a long game that would be impossible to finish in a day.

4. Make combat on the ground missions great like say GoW ( a hide-and-seek third person shooter)

Those are my ideas so far.

3. Make it a long game that would be impossible to finish in a day.

4. Make combat on the ground missions great like say GoW ( a hide-and-seek third person shooter)

All good suggestions.

groud combat needs a duck and cover mode, blind firing, etc. maybe some stealth parts. needs big bad ass weapons too.

flight should work well too.

needs 32 players online, voice chat please. and make it look like SMG.

and please, leave Fox's dad dead. he's been through too many resurrections as is.

How often does Nintendo pop out a "half-baked" game?

Make it long, so you can't finish it in a day? Judging by the length Super Mario Galaxy and Twilight Princess, I highly doubt this is something we should be too concerned about. But length doesn't make a good anyway, so it really doesn't matter.

I don't want a "GoW like" game. If I did, I'd by a 360.

Well Nintendo is known for making lengthy games so content shouln't be a big problem there.

For combat there should be a mix of ground and flying missions; 40% flying 60% ground, this is just my opinion though. Whatever way they choose to make it though I really hope they make the combat more interesting for both ground and flight, Assault felt very basic and average for both.

I think having a similar third person shooter perspective as GoW would be a good idea for ground combat.

plays more like freespace with freelancer controls. i was playing on a starfox stage in brawl and there were ships firing at each other and explosions everywhere. it looked brilliant. now imagine ure in an arwing in the middle of all that.

allow the player to customise their squad with different ships and weapon layouts.

I think it would be cool if it had a very similar layout to the N64 game, but on a much larger scale, with alot more planets than SF64. That game was and is really addictive in its arcade-ish glory, and this one should follow suit.

IT would be a great game if we had the same fun experience as we did with Starfox 64! That was one of my favorite games on the n64! But of course add more to it and such.

they need to slow it down on foot, maybe expand on the starfox adventures formula, but have a slightly more interesting setting, adventures was pretty good, but needed to bring it back to the true star fox more

they just need to hand it to nintendo to make everything tight, they've been handing it out lately. true Rare should have done a better job last time, but they had their minds on financial problems, and namco's attempt was just terrible.

nintendo need to tighten it up with slowed down more cinematic action (why the 64 version was so good, for it's day it was one of the most cinematic pieces of action out there)

they also need to make it slightly grittier without making it badituded, just make falco hate you, slippy to get shot down all the time, and take out crystal... actually if she's in it, I think I'd try to take her out myself!

mainly my one thing there was, slow down fox. part of the reason the last one felt cheap was that he was too quick, it meant you ran as fast as your ship flew...

Yea, Nintendo does really well coltrols for Wii game, I was just referring to a lot of Wii games in general, non-Ninteno games.

As for length I was thinkin more along the lines of difficulty, Mario Galaxy was too easy, TP is a different story, and you probably could finish Galaxy in a day cuz you only had to get 65 stars.

And I am still sticking with my decision of the GoW like gameplay as in a duck and cover or w/e type shooter.

The series started on the SNES, and had pseudo 3-D effects, which at the time were amazing. That's what made the game stand out.

Then, Star Fox 64 introduced real 3-D, and even though I had a blast playing the game with all my friends when I was younger, it was still only given an 8.3 from GS.

Now, look at the series since then:

Star Fox Adventures 8.3

Star Fox: Assault 7.3

Star Fox Command (DS) 7.5

There's a reason why the SF series isn't in Nintendo's top tier.

Also, think of this: If Brawl and Galaxy can't get 10/10, how can SF even get close to that?

I agree with all these. It can't get a 10 since Gamespot hates Nintendo (C'mon. Super Mario Galaxy got 9.5 or something, but GTA VI got a full 10? Although Metal Gear Solid 4 definately deserves its score.)

Only thing I would say is someone said 32 online players. It might get crowded easily. I prefer space, arwing combat online, but maybe of 8 players. You know, one team could be Star Fox, other could be Star Wolf or something.

Personally I think it could get an 10,IF! controls are great,arwing control landmaster control ect.also game play wise to,you do not want a 4 hour gameplay game and it does not have any replay value!(like Starfox 64 had great replay value I still play it today lol).......also graphics wise for starfox really,the graphics should be good,almost like that Condult game......it should push the wii to its hardest(graphic wise........)

Now online,it should be like mario kart wii online,Organize and well put,Not like brawl laaaaaaaaaggggggg,it could be like 8 players per game,with friends 8 players go in a room,You pick team starfox or Team wolf,first come first serve,which any team Gets defeated first loses. also you could send taunts,Like to make the char. talk......Like if you wanted peppy to say Do an Barrel roll,Could press 1 scrolll down Select Do an Barrel roll And Peppy says,DO A BARREL ROLL!

Now with anyone.....your randomly assigned to an char. and the procces continues Like with friends!

Yea I think it has great potential to get an 9.5 or 9.0 but gamespot is to picky......they gave brawl an 9.5? forgot anyways Yea hopefully its sayed at e3 with all those other core games!

The problem with Star Fox in the recent years is more or less trying to give the game a new dirrection. Don't get me wrong Star Fox on SNES and N64 was awsome but shoot-em-up flyers are a dying breed.

With Adventures they tried to make it more Zelda-like, the quality of the game was excellent but it lacked a bit in terms of action and gameplay.

With Assault there was more action but the quality of the game was well below par (thanks Namco).

What needs to be done with Starfox is a complete overhual of the series in terms of gameplay and to a lesser extent art direction. Flight mechanics similar to Warhawk coupled with ground mechanics similar to Gears of War would be a good dirrection for the next Starfox at least imo. I'm not trying to be derivative either, just using examples.

Ideally Nintendo should put their best foot forward on this game and either design this game themselves or have retro studios do the job

ok after reading a few posts, I'm gonna say my favourite picks and hopefully expand a little on what I think of them

- customizable ships! Love it, like I don't mean spore kinda customizable here, but like if you could choose wing type, to increase speed or allow for more guns to be attached, etc. that would be cool, as well as custom decals for online.

- online, to be honest, online deathmatches and leaderboards I think are needed (maybe even mario kart style, rivals system and nintendo scores to beat)

- 4 player co-op, yeah I know you all were thinking 2 player, but this a four shipped team, therefore 4 players!

- air foot and tank parts, (no need for sea, we're goin intergalactic, who's gonna need a boat!) but definitely work is needed on the foot stuff, maybe not GoWish, but should definitely have a cover system, and feel as cinematic as the flying stuff. As for the landmaster, make it feel like a tank, it should be heavy, slow and manned by 2!

- expanding on the land stuff, maybe have team orders? nothing complicated, just maybe a battalion warsish go here button.

IT'S THAT KIND OF BULLCRAP THAT GET'S GAMES DELAYED AND LESS FOCUSED ON THE SINGLE PLAYER! Co-op good

online co-op: maybe if we could remake the levels from star fox assault!

Online: I WANT SOME BIG ASS, HEAVY DETAILED, UNNECCESSARY TUMBLEWEED IN THE DESERT MAPS!

Single-player, tell me a story, give me cg scenes (and plenty of em), not those damn real-time scenes! And let me play as star wolf! ALL MEMBERS OF STAR FOX AND STAR WOLF SHOULD BE ACCESSIBLE SO I CAN MAKE MY DREAM TEAM!

(insert more bickering here)

Also i want 10 million in smart bombs!

Plus if we're gonna have ground combat, make it fast-paced, yet more strategic than just jumping and rolling! Give me AI teammates that do some damn work!

...um do you know what made the landmaster...the LANDMASTER? Speed, manueverability, and a big ass cannon, all controlled by one sly fox! But make the differences between the landmaster and the arwing more noticeble!

4-player co-op is a must, even lettin those four control minor squads would be cool and give them each individual missions, this is the star fox team. Not the Fox! But change the game over to squad-based combat! Also if we're gonna be on-foot for any of the game this game needs some graphical tightening!

ALSO, with a new star fox, means a new face for fox and falco! Everygame these two appear in their facial features change! I say we stick with Star fox adventures style, HELL, give em melee combat! Also WEAKEN THAT DAMN BLASTER from the assault game, but make it stronger than the one in SSBB!

70% arwing missions, 20% LANDMASTAH! missions, 10% submarine missions.


Make each level free roam. Allow more stategy than "Woo thats a plane lemme shoot it down!" or " OMG SLIPPY STFU!! *SLIppy NOOOOoooOOO!*"


Online has to be a must and maybe make it 8 players can play online. Teamdeath match, Deathmatch, Capture the Base(landmasters), maybe Co-op missions?


The story is really hard for me to pick from but i would like kinda of a Metriod Prime and Galaxy approach to it. Ther should be a Hub like in SMG where you pick the planet you go it and A cutscene showing you leaving Great Fox(Hub or whatever could be) then you start flying in the space, then from there you will take control of the plane and head the planet. You will go through some space area you will see your plane entering the planets atmposphere and then you get the orders on what to do.

I want alot of Boss fights too

starfox multiplayer just needs:

more weapons

more characters (in the field and characters to choose)

random weapon generating places (im surprised no shooter have this function yet)

weapons appearing in the edges of the stage (why only half of corneria has weapons?!?!)

for the single player:

multiple ways to get to the end, and some endings (like in the previous starfox games)

more mission objectives (and VARIED)

needing to complete at least 20 missions to get to the end (and about 50 missions to choose the path to take)

AND NO LOVE SCENES! the game would be so better if crystal never existed...

I can't agree more! I love Lylat Wars! (That's what SF64 was called over here in Europe) , if this was a bigger version of that, I would buy it in a pinch! Now I need to get some Wiipoints and download Lylat Wars foor VC...

Good Ideas. I think it should be free roaming where at first you fly around in your ship and do a couple of missions and then something big happens that gets the game going. And from there you have the ability to fly around to diffrent places, do missions for money, upgrade your weapons, customize your ship, and all that.

Starfox adventures was allright, it wasn't even supposed to be a starfox game, nintendo slapped the name on it, assault, I never bothered getting, or renting because it looked like crap and was just horrible, so the next starfox is going to go back to the n64 formula, DAMN, thats just lazy, uncreative, and will end up boring when all else fails go back to the old, because making something new and original out of the starfox licenses is so out of this world.

I don't think a number score should be the goal of any game. No game will ever be perfect.ECG_24

Games don't get a 10 because they are perfect. they get a 10 because the game is revolutionary from the other games in the series. In other words if it's a big step from the pervious games in the franchise it is considered a 10.

Anyways those are some great ideas. I'm really looking forward to a Star Fox announcement at this year's E3.

Mario given a 10 from GS? It could happen. And it probably will

Metroid a 10? Maybe but doubt it.

Star Fox a 10? no.
