I always hated the drawing classes because you had to sit through the teacher telling people that had no business even holding a pencil that they needed some work. Not that they would never be able to draw a happy face that looked like it was intoxicated even on their best day but instead they just need some work.

I always wondered why they just don't run those classes in two groups.

Those who actually have skills sit on the right side and I'll try to give you non helpful information in how you become a better artist and leapfrog me in the art world even though I can't follow those concepts myself and that's why I teach here.

Those who just want the easy C for not eating any of their supplies sit on the left side and try to not make too much noise while you listen to your iPod and learn how to text on your cell.

[QUOTE="rcignoni"]I take Drawing 7th period. It's one of those "easy A" classes, but i love it.Sants412
I'll be taking it um.... 2nd period.... when 4th quarter rolls around. But, my school only has 4 periods a day. 80 minute classes, once every other day.

I couldn't stand being in one cIass more than 55 minutes...

Plus, drawing is one of those cIasses where you get bored in the last 10 minutes.

Yeah, guys way too spammy. :x

Anyway, I take my last exam today, and then after that it's FRIDAY!

JordanElek

mine start Jan 24th:(

Why do schools still split up semesters through the New Year? There has to be a way to get a whole semester in before the break.... I mean, colleges do it. It seems sort of counterproductive to jam in a two-week break so close to the end of the semester.

I guess I should ask... do you guys finish a class at the end of the semester, or do your classes span across two semesters? My high school had classes that spanned two semesters each, so we'd have the same schedule for the whole year (except for Trig/Calculus and Government/Economics). I didn't mind that at the time; but once I got to college and experienced one-semester classes, I realized how much better it is to change classes after the semester ends.

We finish at the end of sem 1 4 courses, then 4 new courses start and go till June. :(

My schedule works nearly identical to yours! I have 4 blocks a day every other day for 90 minutes apiece. I am forced to have at least one semester of fine arts and took a course called Art Survey, where you do basic drawing. It was an easy A.

I just finished my finals today and I now have a 4-day weekend8). It turns out I'll have all A's and maybe one B:( for this semester.

Reading these responses really makes me confident about my decision to not become a high school teacher. Our public education system is just skrewy (that's right, with a k), and I don't think I could deal with that for a career.

But instead of doing that, I'm working on my master's degree. The classes meet once a week for two and half hours, 7:00 - 9:30pm. But for some reason, I think it works pretty well. Having the class only once a week gives us a lot of time to get our reading done, which is usually over 100 pages of scrambly adademic mumbo jumbo that makes sense about a tenth of the time. It's usually pretty interesting, but digging through the wordy nonsense to find the real point is like... well... like reading this thread sometimes.

Just kidding. But seriously.

Over here, I start school at 7 am and finish at 4 pm. 8 subjects everyday, 7 subjects are an hour while 1 is 40 minutes. Then we've got lunch and snack times in between. Just finished my exams today because our school directress likes having Saturday classes when theres exams >__> Man, my school is insane

No sweat, sometimes I leave out words that I planned on typing by my mind was going WAAAAY too fast for my fingers.

Case in point this story HERE

I have the first comment and I left out the word "be"

"Makes sense.

Anything that uses hand eye coordination would easier to do after using the Wii."

It should have said...

"Makes sense.

Anything that uses hand eye coordination would BE easier to do after using the Wii."

So yeah I sound like a moron.

Jason glad easier to do, Jason go store buy food for mouth!

I just hope the snow stays away, I do not want to shovel anymore this year.

Wow tomorrow night there's a big snowstorm. We're getting about 35 cm's of snow. Yeah. 35. But I live in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada and we get snow and rain quite a bit. It's rare when there's no wind even in the sunniest summer days.

From reading JE's **SPOILER FREE** blog entry (by the way he should be commended for being able to get people interested and not ruin anything) it seems like the kind of movie that grabs you and carries you through the film. If they extended the movie it could have some slow parts that seemed like filler and could lose that gripping feeling the movie gives you.

I'm very excited to see it.

One of the first things I said out of the theater was that if it had been any longer, my head would've exploded. You can only keep up a feeling of tension and terror for so long. And it felt like it was longer than an hour and a half because the vast majority of it is suspenseful. The only downside about the pacing was the beginning. At least five minutes of that could've been cut. But at the same time, you knew all along that something was coming, so there was a more subtle kind of tension even during the beginning.

I just can't get over how satisfying the experience was. I can't come up with a single major complaint, no matter how hard I try. But I know there are a whole lot of people who can't come up with a single good thing about it, too. It's a love-hate movie. Just be glad if you're the type that will love it.

I certainly agree. I thought keeping it to the POV of the same group made it cooler than most monster movies.

In regards to Cloverfield, I heard it being compared to the Blair Witch Project a lot. It's the camera-work I believe, and I heard from friends that the camera made them a bit nauseous. How jerky is the film work? (I.E, how sick would I get?) I'm not overly sensitive to motion-sickness, but I also want to see what is playing without feeling like I'm about to hurl. But besides that, it looks pretty good.
