I think I missed something somewhere. :PGabuExIt's his avatar pet on XBL.
Speaking of which, how do you guys feel about Microsoft's You're Too Fat to Play patent? Patents don't always play out in the product exactly as they're written, but let's pretend it will just for the sake of conversation. It sounds scary in some ways but useful in others... but it all depends on if it's voluntary or not. This report makes it seem like it would be a mandatory thing, but I doubt that would happen.

How fat is "too fat to play" (Honest question, I don't know the answer)? Dude really doesn't look all that overweight.
... besides the fact that the end of his boobs are sagging to the middle button on his shirt, and the fact that he's hunching forward to hide the quarry of flab under his shirt... yea, hes not that unfitThe patent doesn't mention a weight cutoff and doesn't talk about fatness. It talks about a lack of fitness. And he isn't fit. See it says: that it "rewards players that have achieved a degree of health or athletic skill in real life. Alternatively or in addition, the degree of health can unlock additional playing time or can unlock certain aspects of a game, such as additional levels." I doubt he has much athletic skill, so he's going to have his playtime cut short and may not get to play all the levels of the games. The day any company enforces fitness to complete games other than fitness games is the day I buy said console, Break an arm or leg or whatever seems appropiate, and sue the company for unfairly requiring the disabled from playing what they paid for.
The only thing worse would be like gattaca, where your life depends on your dna. I have a similar plan for whenever that gets enforced.

Patent walking
Buying board games from Goodwill and selling them to collectors (got Hero's Quest and The Legend of Zelda for 50 cents each but never bothered selling)
Buy packs of WoW trading cards from gamestop for the loot, sell said loot (this one I have done and made about $500).
Buy this, sell here. Also works with Bandai anime.
Everything else I know is borderline stupid. Like raising gas 20 cents because it snowed stupid. These work, and will make money, provided you do research.
Wow that's surprisingly well thought out. I always wondered how people managed to make money of selling on Ebay or amazon. I don't quite understand the trading card thing. Are you just hoping you get a rare card and then selling it on ebay/amazon? Or am I not understanding how this works.
Oh and I just got invaded. The guy was fail. He ran right past me. Then was like "oh oops" then came back. I got him down to about half health (he didn't hit me once). He ran away. I backstabbed him. He died. As for the bosses, I didn't really give too much away. I didn't tell you the strategy or anything. Did he have armor and weapons equipped to the main hand? May seem like a silly question...Patent walking

There is luck involved, no doubt. But there are three things that make it worth it.
A) Very low price of entry. At $1 a pack, pulling a $45 card out of a box of 30 becomes instantly profitable, even without trading in-game rares and epics.
B) Very rabid fanbase.
C) I can use the cards for tournaments, Haven't won anything from the card game but I have won a Spectral Tiger from the Minis game.
And I know "support your local dealer," except our local dealer overprices MSRP because "I only get 44% discount, I have to make profit.." while his chronie persuaded everyone to buy UFS two years out of date just to get rid of them and now cons them into Warmachine by refusing to stock other games. It was funny to hear him say "now I have to rely on casuals to get Magic : The Gathering sold" but not nearly as funny to hear "at $5 a pack."
So, I finished Assassin's Creed today. Again, good game, but not as good as it could be. Looking forward to trying the sequel based on the things mentioned earlier in this thread, since it seems like exactly the kind of game this one should have been. I enjoyed the story, especially toward the end, when some of the bigger elements were revealed, and I'm looking forward to seeing how they develop some of the mysteries left in the end, where they take the future storyline, and how Ezio's story compares to Altair's. I may try to do some of the side-objectives in the game, and get some of the achievements, but overall, I'm just looking forward to the second one now.
I'm also really close to beating Professor Layton and the Curious Village. I'm in the tower right now, but I stopped because I had to recharge (I know that you can play when it's recharging, but it's not plugged into a place where I'd want to play it, so I'll just wait). I'm hoping that I'll be able to get that done today. Again, I like it, and am going to try out some of the unlockable puzzles and downloadable puzzles once I'm done with the main game. The story is pretty good, though I don't really like the idea of
the citizens of the town being robots
and also the "golden apple" is pretty obvious right now. Overall, I've been enjoying it, and am looking forward to the sequel.
My favorite get-rich-quick scheme is the independant buy/sell/trade game shop near my house. When in need, he's always there with underpriced gems. Like Megaman for the Gameboy, complete, for $20, or Dragon Warrior II in-box for $30.
Oh so I saw Avatar last night. You were right Jordan, the message is pounded into your head a bit hard. But I guess that's what Cameron thinks of the American audience. Still, amazing movie from a technical standpoint. The field-of-depth had me in awe for the first half an hour.
Finally, I picked up ACII, will be playing it...maybe tomorrow. Depends on how hungover I am.
Anybody doing anything fun for New Year's tonight?

Well, my gf's friend was supposed to have an 80's themed party tonight, but she's not getting back to us about it. I was really looking forward to it.
I mean, what's better than.... big hair, bright colors, red lipstick, tight pants with holes, mixed in with alcohol?
Plus, my girlfriend is African American, and I really wanted to see her all spruced up in 80's attire. I think it would've been hilarious!
I'm stuck at work until 11 though....

Nah, I solved that puzzle. I looked up a walkthrough and took the first few moves from the walkthrough to get me started and I finally got it. Damn that was definitely the hardest 80 picarats I've earned. None of the main plot puzzles have stumped me like this, so it wouldn't ever have been a stop-me-from-finishing kind of issue. Just a not-solving-every-puzzle-in-the-game kind of issue. I'm not sure how far I am in the game but I like that with the sequel, you don't really have an idea of what's going on and what the mystery is, unlike in the first game, in which everything was patently obvious about halfway through.Hey Click have you gone to Toys R Us for their 25% off Wii accessories yet? Well, I knew that they would have to explain Ramon and Lady Dahlia somehow, and I guess it does kind of fit in with what was shown up to that point, but I was hoping for something a bit more in line with the kind of story they had going before that was revealed. That being said, it could definitely be worse. I am curious to seeing what you're referring to in the second game. Now that I know that those kinds of strange twists could be part of the Professor Layton games, I probably wouldn't be as thrown off as I was with that twist, though if it's as crazy as you say, then who knows... :P

A few things about the first Assassin's Creed (NO SPOILERS BECAUSE I DO THAT)
1. I love hitting the pots out of the slave women's hands because in my mind I picture them being punished for it when they get back (Oh I see Betsy, an ASSASSIN made you spill the water)
2. Then the male slaves carrying those flat tablets showed up and I had fun knocking them out of their hands and thinking of them getting punished (I also pictured the guy in charge of the male slaves is related to Fred and Barny's boss on the Flintstones)
3. Seeing a stream of people going to Jerusalem and riding your horse OVER them is fun in a surreal sort of way lol
4. This is probably the most accurate and tasteful way that the mentally handicapped have been done in video games. I've sent the developers a Email thanking them for not playing into the normal ignorance.
So far so good with the game, I hope to have it done before 2010 starts but you know how that goes........

Demon's Souls. And I just killed yet another boss with no trouble (well real trouble anyway. I was hiding in a corner half the fight trying to figure it out before I realized he only had one attack and it does all of maybe 1/10 of my health bar, aka he hits like a wuss) And I got my Mace blessed which means than rather than being a normal club that gets damage boosts from strength and dexterity I get damage boosts from Faith, the stat that I pour points into being a priest because it ups my holy magic. I also found some priestly robes in that level too. The set doesn't have a helmet though so I'm running around with some miscellaneous armor hat and it looks funny.
But why don't you want a black wiimote? Told ya. The best scene as far as emotions go was the Scene of Mass Destruction, and it's a shame that those emotions couldn't have been accompanied by a better message than we got. When your movie is going to have tens of millions of viewers, you can't waste that opportunity.

Oh yeah. I saw Avatar in 3D yesterday. It was pretty damn good. People should go see it even if its just to see 300 million dollars worth of special effects on display. The 3D was a nice touch too. It worked well with the film. Also I can't see that movie and not think about Heavy Rain. Heavy Rain doesn't have any real gameplay so to say. Its basically the first choose your own adventure movie that I'm aware of. It really could have been done entirely with live actors. Anyway it makes me sad to see every character in Heavy Rain so deep down in the Uncanny Valley due to their being digital renditions of people while the Na'vi are also completely digital yet look totally normal and not creepy in the slightest. They even had their actor's faces and didn't even verge on creepy.Last thing I need is a whole bunch of them where I live.
