THIS IS NOT ONLY WHAT'S WRONG WITH GAMING IT'S WHAT'S WRONG WITH MEN TODAY

A "gamer" jumps around and breaks his leg and doesn't get up to walk off the stage? He just sits there until someone tends to him?

1. Thank you for letting me know why I distance myself from most others who play games as their main form of recreation

2. You're a man, you're a (#@*&#@ man. Get up off your *(#@*( and walk off that *(#@&*@#& stage.

That's one of the things that men do, we get injured and we walk off and then we get help.

This clip infuriated me

Jaysonguy
and you wonder why gamers get a bad name for themselves....he didnt even look like he was in pain at all. he was just like "yep, my leg broke. bummer."

[QUOTE="EasyNormalHard"]Getting tackled in a football game is like running 7 yards into your garage door full speed.UCF_Knight

lolno

A vast majority of the time the pads absorb so much of the impact, hardly anything is felt. If not we'd be seeing a lot more injuries.

That is 100% wrong

I don't even know how you could think it

You know how Rugby is a lot like football but without pads? Rugby players get both less injuries and less severe injuries and this is why. The football players wearing their giant pads feel very safe and secure in their armor. Because of this they will ram each other MUCH harder. As a result the sustain more serious injuries more frequently. Getting hit by a football player in all their pads is like getting hit by a truck. The rugby players have smoother, gentler, collisions because they have nothing to protect them. The same applies to boxing gloves. People are more ready to punch you in the face while wearing gloves because your hard skull won't break their hands. As a result more brain injuries occur because of boxing gloves. Also its said that being in the NFL shaves a certain number of years off your life. Its a function of time. I forgot the exact numbers.

Get a 360 with the ESPN add on, I watched two matches this week

I know I'm going to love it for basketball season so I can watch games out of my area

In other news the guy that invented tight T shirts should get the Nobel prize, if they make me happy just imagine what they do for the rest of the world. The sad thing is that winter is coming so I guess I'll be thankful they work with my hoodies

That is 100% wrong I don't even know how you could think itJaysonguy

Experience

Injuries result when players get hit in certain spots. 95% of tackles are absolutely harmless.

The worst part of ever being hit is having your head slam against the ground, or being tossed on your back so hard you have the wind knocked out, and that doesn't even happen on a regular basis.

I guess it's cool to think that every tackle in football is like two trucks colliding, but that's not at all the case. There's a reason league officials are more concerned of where players are hit, rather than how hard.

ie. why a lot of the time people wonder how a player could have possibly gotten injured on a seemingly routine play, while in other cases a receiver will be blindsided by a linebacker and still get right back up as if nothing happened.

Thanks Jayson, I'm in the process of cleaning my PC the best it can be and see what happens. I want to do a system wipe, but then I have to lose my computer for a day or two most likely just by redownloading files that I can't mention. If I back up programs, then do a wipe, can you transfer software like that or do they actually require a reinstall like before? Either way... scanning, scanning, scanning...... lol

What's the weather like where everyone is at? It's actually kind've nice here. Not to mention, the girl is at work, I'm working on the pc, and jamming out drinking a beer. Life couldn't be better

you would need to reinstall all of them. only way to avoid that would be if you had a ghost image. but since you're doing this because of a virus, if you took an image of your pc, it would include the virus(es). also, make sure you've got the os cd before you do a wipe

Perfect combination of sunniness and wind recently. And it hasn't rained in like a month, so it's been great.

Dang... I knew it!!! I joined a forum and these people are running me through a process that is supposedly helping to get rid of everything (which it looks like it has so far) so I might be alright, but who knows. Hopefully it does. Just like the common cold, I hate viruses!!!!

Do you have Netflix? Have you not watched "Batman: Under the Red Hood"? Then stop doing whatever you're doing, and go see it on Instant Watching. NOW.

Own it on DVD. Brutally awesome and answered some of my questions in the DC universe.

Ok so Vanquish is awesome. There are many cover based shooters. Some let you roll from cover to cover. Some let you climb from cover to cover. Only Vanquish lets you slide on your rocket powered knees in bullet time from cover to unsuspecting robot's soon to be kicked in face. Its a really good shooter. I've been thinking that shooters are getting stale but this one is definitely not stale. Its a big crazy party with guns and badassery. Check it out if you can.

I got popped with a virus earlier this year and wasn't even doing anything wrong. That's what bugs me. Losers who make up these viruses should all be shipped away to a remote island where they can just give viruses to each other...

Am I the only one who thought Vanquish was boring as hell from the demo? I mean I already assumed it'd be boring but after playing the demo it actually did feel boring. Apparently the 'second' demo is better, but I hate my Xbox 360 and I don't want to turn it on. Every time I turn it on, something stupid happens that makes me not like it even more.

Buses are done by like 8:00am. It's 10 and the wind still hasn't hit yet, and the storms will be gone by the time school is over.

I live in Indiana. We get this kind of weather all the time and they've never closed schools because there MIGHT be strong storms later in the day.

And the tornado siren is going off again..... Haven't they ever heard the story of the boy who cried wolf...? Nobody pays attention to those sirens any more because they go off all the time and there's never been a tornado here in my lifetime....

I'm sure. It looks to me like there's extra hype because we usually don't get weather like this in late October, so the weather people are worried. But I have my bedroom window open because it's warm outside, and there's just a little bit of rain and some wind.... I've seen much, much worse.

Snow days are so much better than vacation days or planned days off. It's awesomg thinking you're going to go to school then you get that call that school is cancelled. Plus, if the weather was bad and made driving really hard it would be a good excuse to just curl up and play video games without feeling guilty.

One of my greatest gaming memories was I woke up really early for school and was all showered up and ready to go when my mom said school was cancelled. I was already up and ready so I figured I would just play Ocarina of Time because it was still a relatively new game. Next thing I knew, it had to be like 3 hours later and it was only like 9am. No one bothered me, I just played what was the best game of all time at that point.

i approve of this

I'm not even kidding about that. In elementary school someone lit the dumpster on fire and it did a lot of damage to the school. Everyone got a day off but I ended up getting a week off because my classroom was right above the fire and the floors literally melted.

I know. When the cancelled school topic came up I started thinking about my Ocarina of Time "moment" and then some of my other most memorable gaming sessions. It was amazing having no real responsibility. Life is great now but being young was glorious.

That achievement, I've worked very hard for it

I did all the Jordan challenges in NBA 2K11

Also running the break with Jordan and Pippen and having Scottie go behind Worthy then go in the air to meet the alley opp Jordan just threw while spinning 180 and dunking is one of the best gaming moments I've had in my entire life.

Thank you, I will take them

Doing those Jordan challenges were awesome, Tom Mc Shea showed in his review that he should have nothing to do with anything that even resembles basketball

That's certainly a flip flop. Wasn't it you who said that achievements were worthless trophies added to make the casual crowd think they're playing for something?

i dont know if he did or not, but its definitely how i feel. they're pointless. its just a virtual thumbs up from the game. i guess if you dont get many games, they can help add replay value. but thats about it.

Actually I just said they're worthless and I still think that way

That achievement signifies that I beat the Jordan challenge, if I could do a screen capture I would have done that. Either way it gets the job done

Also I think trophies are worthless with achievements slightly above because they give a score, I don't mind a score but the way that score is implemented it takes a lot of the fun out of beating people in overall score.

I mean one of my favorite achievements is that "If I had a hammer" one because it's awesome

Still worthless

Hmm what do you know, you can download Mew from a Nintendo Wifi Event!

And there I was, thinking I'd have to purchase Pokemon Ranch and catch some 999 Pokemon.

In non-Pokemon related news, it's almost Halloween. Is anyone dressing up? As what? Right now I have no sweet clue and my fall-back plan is Antoin Dodson (Bed-intruder guy).

Back when I was about 9 and Pokemon was still popping brand new episodes of season 1 to America, and pokemon yellow wasn't even out yet.

I remember going to a mall for a Nintendo event, thousands of people with 2 hour lines. It was entered a tournament with my pokemon. levels 50-55 only, 3 vs. 3 (Zapdos, Blastoise, and Moltres)...double elimination. I lost the first two rounds.

And I got 2 copies of Mew downloaded onto my game boy color, and still have them, and they're now at level 100.
