Yeah. I found this game the other day, watched the trailer, and i am hyped for the game. It contains nearly infinite replayability. Underneath that innocent style, the game isn't so innocent considering all the weapons you could summon.

I was kinda skeptical about this game, but then I read that you could summon a time machine, travel back in time, ride dinosaurs and use them to crush robot zombies. Now I'm convinced it will be the best thing ever.

Joystiq Impressions: http://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/05/hands-on-scribblenauts/

Another level placed a pool of water with a shark inside between us and the Starite. While a few options may have allowed us to circumvent the shark-infested waters, we all decided to take him out. I tried dropping a sword on its head pointy-side down, but it bounced harmlessly off its thick hide. I then dropped a hair dryer into the water with more electrifying, fruitful results. Chris attempted to drop dynamite into the water, though the splash extinguished the fuse. He then threw waterproof C Four into the water, effectively recreating the ending of Jaws. J.C. created a Kraken, which fought with and ultimately bested the shark. Andrew created a teleporter in an attempt to instantly apparate to the Starite -- instead, it took him to a medieval world where he was besieged by shadowy assassins. He tried distracting them with candy -- really, Andrew? -- then created a fairly anachronistic nuke. The nuke didn't detonate, however, so andrew created a laser rifle to take out the assassins. One of his lasers grazed the aforementioned WMD, and blew up the entire level.

Nukes, teleporters, robot dinosaurs confirmed.

Dang, I was going to post a thread about this game but you beat me to it. :P

I heard of this game not that long ago, but didn't really know anything about it until I just read an article for it in my new Nintendo Power that I got today. Now I'm totally excited for this game! Immediatley, since I didn't see the trailer for it in E3, I looked it up here on Gamespot and watched it. And I also read the hands-on from Gamespot. I seriously think this is going to be one of the best DS games ever!

The article about Scribblenauts from Nintendo Power, which also contains an interview, tells us many exciting things about this game.

First off, there are countless thousands of words Scribblenauts knows, which means their are near limitless combinations of ways to beat the levels. Some of the stuff NP shows us on the first page are miniguns, battleships, rutabagas, a jerk, mooses, and God (seriously, lol).

The amount of objects means many different ways to beat a puzzle. In an example we see a Starite (objects you need to win puzzles) in a tree. The ways NP shows that you can go about retrieving it is by bouncing off a bed, gluing an anvil to the Starite to make it fall, and riding a unicycle off a ramp.

Anyway, theres a lot to do in the game, I can't wait to get it! :D

This will most definitely be a day one purchase for me... I'm already putting money aside for it just to be ready to pick it up the day it hits store shelves. Can't wait; my most anticipated game of the year.

Same here, and they said in Nintendo Power that you can spend hours on the title screen alone as it allows you to spawn any items you want to, to goof off without worrying about any objectives! :D

It is now one of my most anticipated games too, but I'm not putting any money aside yet, as there are still a few games I want to get before this one (Socom: Tactical Strike, Final Fantasy: War Of The Lions, and Final Fantasy VII on PSN for my PSP), but I am going to try to pre-order it if I can.

I had played all the big titles at E3. Private showings of God of War III, Heavy Rain, Alan Wake. But at 4:00 on Thursday, I was wandering around the show floor, wondering what else I had to see. I saw a small little booth for "Scribblenauts!" in the Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment section. I mean, who goes to that booth? But I remember hearing about it on GAF, and so I decided to check it out.

Best game of E3? Without a doubt. Anyone who says otherwise did not play Scribblenauts. Best game of all time? Jesus Christ, I don't know, maybe. It's a game that challenges your IMAGINATION. No other game has ever done that.

So listen to this story. I was in the early levels; I didn't quite have an idea of how ridiculously in-depth the database was. I was summoning things like ladders, glasses of water, rayguns, what have you. But I reached a level with zombie robots, and the zombie robots kept killing me. Rayguns didn't work, a torch didn't work, a pickaxe didn't work. In my frustration, I wrote in "Time Machine". And one popped up. WTF? A smile dawned on my face. I hopped in, and the option was given to me to either travel to the past or the future. I chose past. When I hopped out, there were dinosaurs walking around. I clicked one, and realized I could RIDE THEM. So I hopped on a DINOSAUR, traveled back to the present, and stomped the crap out of robot zombies. Did you just read that sentence? Did you really? I TRAVELED THROUGH TIME AND JUMPED ON A DINOSAUR AND USED IT TO KILL ROBOT ZOMBIES. This game is unbelievable. Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.

Do you want to know something really amazing and pretty random? So im listening to this Toronto news radio station, 1010 while im on computer. They are just chatting about news issues and whatnot. Then I hear them talking about a video game, so im began to listen more. And guess what, they are talking about Scribblenauts! I was so surprised and started laughing. I cannot believe that they are talking about this game on a news station! Incredible Its already on the news! :O

Impossible. There's nothing you can't do.

goblaa

I actually peed my pants with joy! Words can't describe my anticipation!

For some reason, I really want to see what happens if I type in totalitarianism or communism...

toast_burner

nothing it needs to be a noun (e.g. communist )

Technically, those are nouns, but I see what you mean.

So, yeah, instead of summoning a belief, summon a believer of that belief.

Redundancy FTW!!!1!
