Yah I think it is a tad early to be thinking about a new console but I do hope they stick with motion control. All I can think of for the next system that I truly want is more responsive motion sensing and a lot better graphics.

Yeah, this is no time to be thinking of the offspring of the Wii. We've already gotten too much of those from the DS.

The Wii hasn't even been out for a year.

I figured it would be a wii with "up to date" graphics. I really wish they would have released the Wii with high definition graphics.

When I saw this I thought you guys were talking about the Wii v2, or revision. Have they set a release date for that anyway? I am waiting for the dvd playback because my dvd player is big and bulky, and I like compact and feature-rich.

I disagree with that. These "gimmicky" controls are what is making Nintendo so much profit right now.

Nintendo is not really known to be a powerhouse manufacturer.

People love Nintendo's systems for the fun gameplay and innovation, not as much for the graphics and processing power. (at least that is what I've seen/heard)

I don't think after how successful the wii is becoming they won't competewith the powerhouse consoles (PS4, Xbox 619) interms of beef (Graphics and physics) It's also becoming too expensive to keep up. I expect the next console to be even more of a shift away from traditional consoles, perhaps with the advancing in motion sensoring technology there may not even be a control pad as we know it. You may just control the action with somekind of advanced eye toy with somekind ofattachment straped to your wrist. Who knows?

who knows, maybe it'll be more realistic on the gameplay, with gloves (like minority report), or maybe like jhonny quest :P, maybe it'll just be with the lastest hardware for those days, and also compatible with GC, and Wii games, controllers and blah blah blah, but i hope it doesn't end like the sega dreamcast, it was a very very good game console for that time, just didn't had the support it needed :/

There's more chances to see the Playstation 4 to have fully motion sensors controls before Nintendo taking out the controls.

Back to the topic, the research and development team of Nintendo are in constant working for new things. Right now, I can see Nintendo Engineers working on the next generation console. When the GameCube was released, Nintendo was working forthe codename Revolution console.

well, i read this theory somewhere else a few months ago that i think is stillgood.

it's basically nintendo release a innovatiiveconsole, then the same the with more graphics and buttons, then something innovative again, like in a cycle.

nes-made games simple and brought gaming back to the masses after the dark ages in gaming

snes-pretty much same thing with better graphics and more buttons

n64-had 3d graphics, and revolustionised the way we play game (control stick)

gamecube-same thing with better graphics and more buttons

wii-revolutionised the way we control games with the wiimote.

so i think the next console will be a wii2 with better graphics, and then after that mayby virtual reality? nobody realy knows what it wil be, but i think it'll be something revolutionary.

Who knows what Nintendo will think of next!

Lets not try to predict them, they will provide us with a great system in the end.

Might want to brush up on your console history then.

They've always gone for the most power at any given time for the console market.

i have heard stories of a new gameboy. My dad works at fox chase cancer center as a Mac/Apple support Technician and works with a guy from nintendo. I do not know if this is absolutely true so don't hold me to it. All I know is that is what my dad told me and he usually never ies about anything.
