"In the meanwhile, here's the game's prologue, in case you were wondering how Square Enix has managed to cram a rhythm game into the Final Fantasy universe.

Apparently, the space between the gods Chaos and Cosmos is known as "Rhythm." "Rhythm" gives birth to the crystal which controls music, and fills the world with sound. However, the forces of chaos have disrupted the peace, and the crystal has begin to lose its shine. To restore the crystal's shine, the music wave "Rizpo" must be increased. And so, the warriors, guided by the crystal, begin their journey of music.

When that journey will begin is anyone's guess at present, as the official site does not have a release date."

"Square Enix has a new Final Fantasy game on the way for 3DS, but it's not quite the RPG we're used to. The new game is titled Theatrhythm Final Fantasy. Yes, this is that Final Fantasy themed rhythm game we've all been waiting for.

Revealed in this week's Jump, Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is a "Theater Rhythm Action" game. The game has field scenes set in dungeons and towns, and battle scenes that resemble the side-view battles of older Final Fantasy games. However, everything is played like a rhythm game, where you tap the screen in accordance with prompts.

Needless to say, the game's music is pulled from past Final Fantasy games. Characters, including the likes of Lightning and Cloud, are also in the game, only they're shown in cute "chibi" st*le form.

There seems to be somewhat of a story to the game. Jump says that the clas*ic Final Fantasy characters are fighting to return light to the crystal.

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy is currently without a final release date."

Not what I was expecting when I heard Final Fantasy for 3DS. Personally I would just be happy if Square released a sequel to The World Ends With You.

I guess Final Fantasy 3DS will be the worst selling game of the century...

I think people are writting this one off way too early. Did people had this same reaction when TWEWY was first shown with it's unusual style and fighting system? And how did that turned out?

I'm keeping an open mind here. Afterall, one of my favorite game this gen is a Rhythm game (Ouendan). If this has a nice enough story and exploration, could be cool actually.

although the music in Final Fantasy is amazing this just looks so....stupid. I was expecting some kind of innovative rythm gameplay but this just looks like DDR.

I'm keeping an open mind here. Afterall, one of my favorite game this gen is a Rhythm game (Ouendan). If this has a nice enough story and exploration, could be cool actually.

In case people didn't know, Jupiter is the developer behind The World Ends With You, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and Picross DS. I'm officially pumped for this game.

I myself am wondering about it... Apparently they started to produce crap for the masses in order to maximize profits, and not good games for the arts itself..

And I think that now you are ashamed to admit that it looks like a piece of... a game for little children.I am 23 years old and for me this game looks simply ridiculous. Maybe it's a matter of age, but for me this FF 3DS looks like a retarded child:xFiasco of the century... I would like to share yourenthusiasm, but this game looks so girly and so childish...Perhaps I would sit silently if this product would cost no more than 10$ (like Ehoes of Time - was not even worth the 10$).. As for me, I'm waiting for Heroes of Ruin - this title might rebuild the reputation of Square Enix's games for DS
