Things youd like to see on Wii 2 (rumoured)? *******

So its been rumoured Nintendo may soon make a Wii 2. Ive heard they are thinking of things like DVD support (for when you go on holidays and you want to take a gaming system, you can now take one with a DVD player), Ive heard they are having cameras on the remotes. Not sure what else.

I would love to see more card slots like CF cards because thats what my camera uses. Theres nothing id really like to upgrade on the Wii as IMO its fine as it is. I would like to see the coloured wii's and remotes finally come out. Rumoures are red, green, black and silver. Other rumours are only black, light blue and pink, like the DS colours.

On other notes, id like to see upgrades to the Mii and the Photo Channels. Id like to see more hair colours and styles for both male and female. Also more facial hair and different glasses. On the Photo Channel I would like to see more features in the Doodle section, like more images added like tattoos and piercings.

Thats about all I have at the moment. Your thoughts?

No, no it hasn't.

You may want to further this "rumor" but not one credible place says anything about it.

• DVD player as standard
• 20 gb hard drive or 10 gb flash memory
• make games go up to at least 1080i. just overclock the wii just a bit to do so nintendo dammit.
• custom lights and skin for the case to choose from
• recharge battery packs for the wiimotes

i know that the 1080 thing wont happen because ppl would be pissed since they would think they have to buy another one that provided support that the old one wont.

I highly doubt they'll make a Wii 2 that isn't the next console. Anyways, if they wanted a camera in the Wiimote, couldn't they just make new Wiimotes? Why make a new console to support voice chat, which I think is unnecessary. All they need is a mic to plug in to the Wiimote somewhere. Either way, it definitely won't get a graphical upgrade. If they did that, they would have to up the price at least 100 bucks, maybe more.

You know what this is kind of a set up to a troll topic.

He's basically asking what the flaws of the wii are and how you would change it to make it better.

Nintendo does care about graphics. A lot. They always had the most powerful consoles, but with the Wii, they had to make the sacrifice, since a low price was essential. If they could make a more powerful console and sell it at $250, they would.

Nintendo makes revisions to handhelds like nobodies buisness, because you can make minor upgrades without changing the price point much. With consoles you cant really do that, this isnt sony and MS here remaking the console over and over. The closest Nintendo has ever come to this is like the CD add-on for the SNES. I havent heard these rumors but they arent true in the least bit. However I dont expect the next Nintendo console to be as revolutionary as the Wii is, I just expect it to deal withproblems of the Wii like memory and friend codes perhaps. Also I remember Miyamoto saying a few months ago that the next Nintendo console would be capable of true HD display. It will be much cheaper to do so by then, so I expect that is a given.Sepewrath

How about make a system that doesn't take a decade to find in stores? I'm hoping to trade in my Wii to EB and get the new Wii when it finally comes out, but that could be gaming suicide if I put all my cards into one store. It's so hard to locate. Thats true. Theyre just in such high demand Nintendo cant produce enough worldwide is all. Its hard enough to even find a Wii Remote on sale lol. Before xmas I rang about 6 diff stores asking if they have any Wii Remotes and they all said No maybe in a day or so, so I had to ring all of them back everyday for half a week lol.

If they were to make an "updated" version of the Wii, I'm sure that they would do the same thing they did when they began releasing the Wii and Wiimotes with the new jackets... they would want to offer it free of charge to those that purchased a Wii before the upgrade, which would be quite a bit of money out of their pockets. Then again, it would only be offered to those that actually registered their Wii, which I would think would only be about 15% of Wii owners, if even that. I just don't see them wanting to make a significant enough of an upgrade that would warrant a new "version" of the console. In the latest GameInformer, it has a little blurb in it regarding Nintendo working on it's next console already because they want to get the jump on the other manufacturers. With that said, I wouldn't expect this so called "upgraded" Wii to come out for another1 - 2 years and then them release their new console shortly afterwards, if they truly want to get the jump on the other manufacturers. I don't see it happening...

No, not really. They'd just do that for the new console.

If they do release a new version of the Wii, it'll probably just have a bigger harddrive, be smaller, etc. All that generic crap.

I would rather them just focus on updating firmware for the current Wii until they release the next console.

Even if they did make a revision, it wouldn't be too much. More memory, smaller size, etc. Nothing that would actually effect game play like better graphics. If they made a revision that could actually handle better graphics, then they would effectively have two consoles out in the market at the same time. Developers would have to choose between making their games for the original Wii so it would work on bother versions, or make it for the newer Wiiso they could up the graphics at the cost of not being able to sell to the people that only have the original Wii. It would just be bad business. Wii revision, if there will ever be such a thing, will be very minor.
