The price is listed at $29.99 -- A bit ridiculous if you ask me -- Its $10 too much. If it was $19.99 it be a solid deal, but $29.99 is too much for an old game with slightly enhanced controls.
Shame on you Nintendo.

Are the graphics updated, too? Or is it just controls?
$30 ain't bad, though. How much does the GameCube version go for now? At least $20 on Ebay, more new, I bet.

I agree
Overpriced old software with control schemes that were never designed for the games
Nintendo is doing what other devs are doing. They don't care about quality with the games. They understand that anything sells and they're just trying to get money back that they lost last gen.
Nintendo said that they weren't happy with sales last gen and they're using this to fix them.
Pretty awful making Wii owners pay for Nintendo's mistakes last gen
I probably wont get it. Only reason why I got RE4 wii edition was because I never played the GC versionchansaet
Resident Evil 4 was also just a bit over 2 years old
Pikmin is over 7 years old
If they offered it for 10 dollars, heck maybe even 12 dollars that would be fine.
Asking this much for such old software is wrong
Seems pretty fair to me as well. If you have played the game/already own it, then there is no reason to be upset about the price. If you think it's too much and you can buy the Gamecube disk elsewhere for much less, then by all means, do so. It's more productive than complaining.Cesar_Barba
I largely agree with this. If you've never played the game before, it's basically a new game for only thirty bucks. That seems like a fair deal. If you have played the game before, then you're not in the target audience, so they don't care if you think it's overpriced. :P
Here's another reason I'm AGAINST the $30 price tag.
You can argue that these "Play on Wii" games are greatest hits titles, no? Well, last gen, Sony's Greatest Hits titles cost $19.99 at retail. Games were also priced at $49.99 that gen, just as Wii games are priced now.
I suppose you can argue that the control scheme alone adds an extra ten bucks to the final price, but the fact remains that you're paying for the same game from a previous generation for more money. I'm still having a hard time figuring out how this can be a good deal.

Well if you don't think it's a good deal, don't buy the games. I probably won't be, on account of the fact that I've played the games on the Gamecube. Nintendo wouldn't have priced it at $30 if they didn't think anyone would buy it for that price.

That would be a perfectly reasonable answer except for one problem
Making these took away from them making new titles
There is not one first party Wii title in all of the first quarter in North America
$30 is a fair price. Try to buy a used Pikmin 2 game for under $30.

Game Crazy-$12
Movie Gallery-$3.99 (just like every other Gamecube, PS2, and Xbox game they have)
If you were to buy these in Japan, it would retail for $43 w/o shipping, so I don't see why we're complaining about NOA buying in bulk and passing the price down to consumers. Also, many of these ports have had a few hours of entertainment added to them, which would explain the $10 markup.
As for the case with Pikmin 1, Nintendo completely fixed the problems it had. Eliminating the 30 day time-limit, implementing Wii motion (hopefully good) and updating the graphics to that of a regular Wii game. For $30, that is a steal.
As for games like Mario Power Tennis...since that was a Second Party title, Nintendo couldn't get Camelot to hand over the original code to tamper with. So that effort is the laziest of all the offerings so far.

How are they making them pay though? Wii owners don't have to buy these games unless if they want to, so they aren't making us do anything.[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"][QUOTE="Haziqonfire"]Here

Making these took away from them making new titlesJaysonguyNo it didn't. It may have kept Nintendo from release "real" new games in the first quarter, but it's not like Miyamoto said, "Okay everybody, stop working on the next Zelda and Mario and all our other projects, and lets focus our energy on a handful of Gamecube games! GET TO WORK!" These titles weren't announced very long ago, and they'll be on the shelves shortly. I don't think it took much effort to throw these games together, and I doubt that anything was put on hold in order to make them.
I can also understand why they're doing it for $30. Most Wii owners weren't Gamecube owners. They'll sell these at $30 because they CAN sell them at $30. And I have a feeling that these games are a test to see if their whole New Gamer - Bridge Game - Dedicated Gamer plan will work, without losing any money on it if these games don't sell well. Metroid and Pikmin aren't games that new gamers would just pick up and play out of nowhere, so if these sell really well, then Nintendo can go full forward with their plan.

haha, i wouldn't buy anything from Movie Gallery. I hate their late fee policy (oh, one day late... well that's the same as renting it again, so we'll charge you full rental price... too bad you dropped it in the return slot before we told you that) and people are brutal on rentals. i should just buy a $5 coaster.
if they update the graphics, i'll buy. if they do that with games like Batten Kaitos or any other GC RPG, I'm in. I'd rather have all Wii titles then a mix of Wii and GC anyway.

Their purchase policy on games is that as long as you have the reciept you can exchange the game at any time. It is literally forever.
As long as you hand them the broken game, a case, and have a valid card, you will never have to worry about wear and tear breaking your game.
It is so satisfying to know that my money will never be wasted as long as Movie Gallery exists.

Well, that may be true. And people can be incensed if they want. The only thing Nintendo will listen to is a lack of sales, however, so there's not much point in it. Whenever there's a lull in games coming out, I just find other things to do. I don't see the point in getting angry about something that I ultimately can't change.
Great deal for some people, lame for others.
For example, i can find Metroid Prime and Metroid Prime 2 both for $25 in great shape (in fact i get my MP for $8 ) but Pikmin, thats a different story, i saw a used one for $20 and it was very scratched, and Pikmin 2, well i cant find it anywhere.
I hope these sell well. If Nintendo starts getting new gamers to play Nintendo's other franchises, then they can focus more on those in the future instead of churning out, oh, say, Wii Music 2.
I never played Pikmin and Pikmin 2 I also never played Chibi-Robo so I'm defenately going to buy all three for the Wii.I'v never played it so I'm sold.

But it is better then 50 dollars. But yeah you are right it is alittle over priced.I haven't played half of those Play for Wii games on the GC and with those prices I'm still not convinced to pick them up.
Btw...
For Gc at gamestop
Metriod Prime $6.99
Metriod Prime 2 $14.99
Pikmin $24.99
Pikmin 2 N/A
Mario Power Tennis $29.99
DK: Jungle Beat(Game Only) $12.99
Basically your only getting a good deal with Mario Power Tennis but thats just at gamestop Most likely local video game stores have them for less.
