Like most, I was dissapointed as well when I saw it. I was hoping for something more open wolrd too (was expecting something like Super Mario Universe). But like most of you as well, this game grows on me. I'm pretty sure it'll be different than what they did on 3DS.
Also, I hear nothing but good comments about players trying it out at BestBuy (E3 demo special).
I was pretty dissapointed at first but I did have a blast with the 3ds game. I hope the game has a lot of levels and that they are varied enough to make up for the (assumed) lack of branching paths. That was one aspect of galaxy that I really liked, even though you would be playing the same "level" depending on which start you were going after you would be on a different area of the level.Â
I was disapointed about the lack of online play. Not because I would want to play this game online, but because I'm afriad nintendo is going to do all of their games this way or have an inferior online system. I currently only have 3 games for my wii u and none of them are online but I do want to play mario kart/smash brothers/ect online. To be honest I'm not sure how the online on wii u even works. Does the game pad function as your mic? Can you hear the other players your fighting/racing? Â

Depends on the game, some need a headset; while others you can just use the mic in the gamepad
Super Mario 3D Land was fantastic, so a chance to play a sequel in HD sounds great. The cat suit looks interesting. I don't know how I feel about multiplayer though. Peach being playable makes we wonder who we're trying to save in this one though. Maybe the Yoshis? I'm also really digging the classic art style portraits they have in that top corner for Mario and the gang. That's a nice little touch.
