I'm not going to judge it before it comes out. To be frank, just because it's on rails, doesn't mean it can't be a good game. As long as it has depth and replay value then I'm fine. I'd rather they make a solid on-rail game then half-ass a regular one.
The only on-rails shooter I've ever played in my life was House of the Dead for the arcades years ago. I remember it being pretty fun so I'm starting to have second thoughts on my past decision that it'll suck.

I'm thinking about getting it. I will have to see more of it. But from the light gun/on-rail shooters from games on the Wii so far (specifically the Boo arcade game in SPM and the boss games in Rayman Raving Rabbids) I've really started to like the idea of this being an on-rails shooter. When they first announced that it would be an on-rails shooter, I was disappointed, but now I'm kind of excited to see how it will turn out.
It loses a lot of the RE elements that draw me to the series. It offers the ability to stroll through a spooky house, add a bunch of cheap scares, and blow zombies (and various other baddies) away.
I'll wait until we get a hands-on and a review. If i'm still not sure, I'm sure it's worth a rental. I don't know how much replay value it's going to offer, but Capcom has been in the business of making amazing games for a long time and might not offer the game of the year, but certainly an enjoyable experience.
one thing I am looking forward to is two player zombie action. I think that it will shine with a friend. And without a friend, I just might hook up two wiimotes anyway and duel wield my way through the zombie hordes.
I'm looking forward to it (my 2nd most wanted Wii game). Its my favourite franchise so it should be a nostalgic ride from a different perspective. Its Wii's best looker too. The Resi 2 chapter should be great, hoping all the voices are authentic. Resi 5 should deliver the normal gameplay, its all looking good 8)
