Wind Waker. This shouldn't even be a contest.Litchie
:x Well thier is a contest. I've played both games twice so I should know which one I preffered and I am definitly a Twilight Princess fan. And in other polls Twilight Princess has been in the lead - it really depends on who's on the wii forums at the time. Not only is this a contest, it's probably one of the biggest areas of disagreement on the Wii forum.

I can't see how someone would preffer Windwaker, but I'm not going to assume that those who do don't have very good reasons.

The story was better. The gameplay was better. The characters were better (TP lacked personality, and Ganon was incredibly more awesome in WW). The graphics was better. The difficulty was better. The replay value was better. Those are pretty good reasons to me. All of these things made WW feel a lot more epic and original.

Hey, your entitled to your opinion but please don't mistake your opinion by everyone elses. I though TP had a better story. I enjoyed the gameplay more. I though TP was full of personality - and I thought the final battle with Gannon was EPIC. Just saying.

Twilight Princess is a good game but it feels to similar to Ocarina of Time whereas Wind Waker tried to be different and I thought the graphics were beautiful. Twilight Princess didn't really add anything new to the series.

I loved Twilight Princess So much more. I could not stand all that water in Winwaker. It was fine at first but after awhile it got very old. I liked the Darker stroy in TP as well. It reminded me so much of the Epic Zelda OoT.

TP is the only 3D Zelda to not be AAA and GOTY material, so WW by default.

Again, i dont understand why you feel the need to insult wind waker because you think it's graphics are "kiddy". It had a cell-shaded cartoonish feel similiar to Okami.

lucifer3999

.....maybe the same reason you feel the need to bash Twilight Princess and it's so called boring, unimpressive graphics. Cell shading isn't really all that new or fresh either. Okami has cell shaded graphics but the game doesn't have a kiddy look to it, more like a Japanese water color. Again everyone complains about the Wii having a kiddy image yet the same people are saying the Wii needs kiddy looking iterations of games. I noticed the same thing about people's reaction to the Crystal Bearers more mature look when compared to original Crystal Chronicles kiddy look.......

Sorry, I sometimes forget to write "in my opinion", but it should be pretty clear that what I wrote wasn't fact, but opinion. And don't get me wrong, I like TP. Full of personality, though?

I loved the characters in Wind Waker. They are funny, cute, cool (especially Ganon) and mysterious, making them very memorable. I remember all of the characters and their personality in WW, which I love that I do. I hardly remember any character from TP. Well, I know what they look like, but since they were mostly uninteresting and didn't have anything special to say, I really feel they didn't have much of a personality, thus making them very forgettable. The lack of personality is the worst part of TP.

...in my opinion. :P

Twilight Princess. WindMaker was good, but Twilight Princess had far better controls, a more unique storyline, and it's dark graphical style made it feel truly epic. Besides, Link owns Toon Link

When I first played Twilight Princess I felt this game is good at one point I said it was better than Wind Waker but I played Wind Waker all the way through again changed my mind.

I must say that this is a close one for me. Graphically both games had advantages. TP's graphics were more realistic, and went well with the seriousness of the game. WW's graphics, though cartoonish, worked very well with WW's storyline. I am not saying that WW wasn't serious, because it was, just look at the ending. ;) However, the story in WW didn't appear to be quite as dark as TP's storyline, so the cartoonish graphics worked for it. Gameplay wise, both have pros and cons. While sailing was fun at times, it often got somewhat monotonous. The boss battles in TP were well executed, but they were awfully easy, however, the battles in WW weren't very hard either. I must say that the cartoonish graphics in WW did have some charm to them, because they made Link seem so aware of his surroundings, and so real. However, I really liked how TP was a bit darker, and the TP storyline I think had just a few more surprises. While the appearance of Hyrule in the WW was a huge moment, TP's storyline also had a few huge plot twists, plus a few extra ones as well. In the end it is really tough for me to decide. I think that both the games are fantastic, and I like both of them a ton. I must say that WW seems to have a bit of a nostalgic factor, but I think that is just because it is older. XP lol If I had to choose I would say TP. hmmmm, maybe I should beat both of them again then decide. lol

Twilight Princess was a better overall game, the only thing that Windwaker has over TP is the boss battles, Wind Waker had some pretty awesome boss battles, and the ganon battle in more so. Wind Wakers' ending was also better. But then again WindWaker was short compared to other Zelda games inculding TP. So Overall I rather play TP over WW, but if it was just for the boss battles, WW hands down, but WW had all that sailing >.>.

although i have not played TP very much so i would have to go with windwaker. why? Toon Link, better (if not necessarily more realistic) graphics, more memrable characters, and unique plot. But my opinion doesn't really matter because as soon as i post this someone will be on me about why TP is better. Really the games are not very comparable, because they are so incredibly different

Twilight Princess, simply because it didn't try to drill the monotony of sailing into your bloody head over and over.

Tough decision but if I had to choice, I would go with Wind Waker. In my opinion it just seemed like an overall better game, the art style added more life to it. I liked the sailing better than wolf link. The bosses were sweet in Wind Waker and more memorable, shoot, the only thing I liked in TP was the horseback riding fight. Also, I didn't have to force myself to finish Wind Waker. Well, maybe it wasn't a tough decision.

It's hard for me to say honestly. I felt that Wind Waker had a more difficult ending, and I felt that (at the time when I was younger) it was a bit more difficult. But Twilight Princess was amazing for me as well -- just putting that disc in my Wii and letting the game run for the first time, it was beautiful. It's hard to say -- both games are some of my favorite games. :)

I'm not voting because I have yet to play windwaker, but twilight princess is my favorite game I own right now. It is just so.........good. I find the story to be really interesting, and the controls work really well. I am super excited to buy/play wind waker, because I love twilight princess (and zelda in general) so much, and based on what I have seen/heard about wind waker, I'm sure that I'll love wind waker as well. Zelda is my favorite video game franchise.

Twilight Princess is much better in nearly every aspect; gameplay, content, graphics, length. Honestly I have no clue why Twilight Princess gets so much hate... it's one of the best Wii games out there. Plus everyone seems to complain about Nintendo having a "kiddy" image yet at the same time they like Wind Waker's look more, talk about mixed signals. Cell shaded Zelda should stay on DS.umcommon

The areas may have been seven times bigger than Ocarina of Time, but the content within that area felt lackluster. The "go anywhere and do anything" theme was blown out the window in Twilight Princess, something done extremely well in the Wind Waker and OoT. I also felt the dungeon items in Twilight Princess were very boring, because many of them were hardly put to use outside of their respective dungeons, unlike the previous Zeldas. Here is a comparison in what I found unique between Twilight Princess, OoT and Wind Waker:

OoT: After completing the Forest Temple, I skipped the Fire Temple and went straight into the Water Temple. After acquiring the longshot, I went back to the Fire Temple and skipped a whole bunch of areas I wouldn't of been able to otherwise without the longshot. Also the fact that you can hookshot to just about everything from rooftops to trees in this game encouraged much more exploration especially since nearly every single item in the game was put to full use.

Wind Waker: Aiming the wind to get to certain areas with items like the Magic Leaf was something I found very unique, as well as the sailing (though I do admit the sailing can become a bit excessive at times) aspect of the game. The game also encouraged a lot more exploration than Twilight Princess ever did and had a lot of content throughout the whole map. I was extremely impressed with what was out there at sea from whirlpools, tornados, good weather, bad weather, pirates to the ghost ship itself. The only part I found to be tedious was the part where you had to acquire all the Triforce shards.

Twilight Princess: The only aspect of this game I liked above the rest were the unique dungeons that have been arguably toned up in difficulty and some of the boss fights were very unique even if they're borderline very easy. The whole Twilight World / Real World theme just felt like de-ja-vu all over again if you've played A Link to the Past. Epona also became obsolete when you were able to transform into a wolf. Overall, I found the fights in this game more interesting than the previous.

With that said, Twilight Princess is still an amazing game even if I'd consider it a lower score compared to Wind Waker because of the reasons mentioned above. I've replayed the other Zeldas many times, but didn't find that same replayability incentive here. It was an enjoyable experience that could've been so much more especially in Reggie's words "By far the best Zelda we've ever created" - thats some pretty big words. Though to give Nintendo more credit, Twilight Princess IS a Gamecube game, not one specifically designed for the Wii.

I would have to agree with you. I love the TP way more than WW. Although the ganon fight in WW was very fun I thought the strory in between levels was a lot better! I also loved the graphics in TP. WW graphics were okay if you like cartoons, but cartoons are refreshing once in awile! All in all, I thought TP was way better! I can't wait for a new one!

Twilight princess is one of my all time favorite games. It was my first zelda game, nintendo console game, and really the game that made me a gamer. Before that I really just used my PS2 for those Nickolodeon games that get old once you turn like 9 years old. But I made them last untill I was twelve. Which is when I got the wii and twilight princess and i was a gamer. Sorry to bore you with that long story, but i felt that.... yeah ill stop now.

these seem like really petty childish reason to hate a zelda game. i thought in my own personal opinion that WW was the best in the series, short of majoras mask. the fact that ganondorf actually died was something i found very epic (something that twilight princess totally ripped off) and im stilled baffled by how many people say that TP graphics were better, honestly? just because they were realistic doesnt make them better, they were fuzzy and very pixilated when you got up close to anybody's face and that realy turned me off. WW had amazing graphics that always looked fresh and clean. and lets face it, the only reson TP exists is because nintendo got tired of people complaing about WW art style.

dont get me wrong, i thought TP was a good game, but in no way do i think it is the best of the series or better than ww. i liked the dark atmosphere and edgy tone, butthe entire time i played it the only thing that popped in my mind was FAN SERVICE. and i cant tell you how annoyed i was with the extremely long time it took to ganondorf to die with all of his gasping for a whole 5 minutes of omg i cant believe i lost, and end it with him dead STANDING UP!

These are always tought questions, because both of these games are flawless spectacles, but I have to give it to Twilight Princess, There's just too much going on and too large of a world to ignore how perfect that game is. Wind Waker is still one of the finest achievments in gaming history.

Every 3-D Zelda game is absolutely fantastic, but in my mind, it goes:

1. Ocarina of Time

2/3. Majora's Mask and Wind Waker (tied)

4. Twilight Princess

I'd go as far as saying I'd score every one a 10/10, but I definitely enjoyed Wind Waker more. More creative, more challenging (though nowhere near as hard as the previous 2), and all in all it was more original. Sure in all of them you get a sword then basically wonder whether you'll get the boomerang or hookshot first, and that's all the mystery, but it gave a fresher feel to Zelda games. Plus Wind Waker was actually my first 3-D Zelda game. I'd actually have to replay it now to get everything out of it. Maybe I'll pick it up Used and play it again.

Actually I might say enjoyed, OoT, MM, and WW very equally, though there's something about OoT that just separates it from the rest. Maybe it's just the feeling of its originality, regardless of what order you play them in. Judging objectively OoT is clearly the best game, but subjectively they're very close.

I just loved the way they made TP. I mean, the side missions & everything! What was a major mission in WW? Sailing a boat for an hour? I'm sorry, but i'll just take the horse. I've loved every Zelda game so far, but TP was the best. TP felt more like a true blue Zelda game! WW felt like I was watching a Pokemon cartoon with a kid using a sword. Don't get me wrong though! I like WW...& pokemon. I just liked TP better. I wonder how awesome the next one will be?

My vote goes to windwaker...

Although the sailing could be a bit boring and tedious, the plot, graphics, sideequests, and charm made it one of my favourite in the zelda series.

I'm guessing some of the people voting for Twilight Princess haven't played Ocarina of Time. The second you play OoT, you see why TP is the inferior Zelda game. It's just an OoT clone without the same creativity. The puzzles and bosses were way better in Ocarina.

Twilight Princess was my favorite game until I played Ocarina of Time, because once you've played that TP just loses its magic. I realized that the graphical downgrade to OoT was a small price to pay for vastly better gameplay.

And once I realized that, Wind Waker became the better game. Wind Waker was entirely unique and didn't feel like a rehash of old thoughts done better.

But seriously, everyone complaining about the sailing in Wind Waker, let's talk about the wolf levels in Twilight Princess. At least the sailing was unique and intuitive. It could be tedious, but the grandeur of sailing across the sea in your ship was breathtaking for at least a while. The first wolf level felt like it was just an annoyance getting in the way of the true Legend of Zelda. Seriously, if I want to play as a wolf, I'll play Okami, it's better than TP. Legend of Zelda is about combat and puzzles, and the second a mission becomes "Go find 100 things" and it's not a side mission, it's not Legend of Zelda. Sure Majora's Mask is a Zelda game and you could transform

Take that and the fact that I never died to a single boss once, or even got close for that matter, until I made a stupid mistake in the duel against Ganon, the fact that OoT does the same exact same thing as TP better makes it lose a few points. However WW never feels like it's aping from another game because it isn't, it was a fresh and original idea that took everything that made Legend of Zelda great and put it in an entire new package, making everything from transportation to basic combat feel different than before.

Don't get my wrong, as I said earlier, I'm pretty sure all 4 of the 3-D games can safely all be considered in my top 10 games ever, although TP lags a bit behind the others who are basically in a 3-way tie for best game ever, so I love every game, I just find WW to simply be better.

Which brings me to the point that why are we having a war over this? We're all Zelda fanboys/girls here so let's get along and instead of deciding which game is better argue on System Wars about why Halo isn't even fit to wipe The Legend of Zelda's ass.

Twilight Princess was made for the Zelda gamers who thought Wind Waker was too cartoony and didn't want it to count as a Zelda game.

I like Twilight Princess because it was the longest Zelda game.

I would have enjoyed Wind Waker more if there wasn't boring sea travel. I have to go with Twilight Princess. And Tingles wasn't in TP also.

You only have to sail the first few hours of Wind Waker, and then you get the teleport song. This little fact really makes me wonder why a lot people see the sailing in WW as a huge minus. And Tingle is awesome.
