1) Nintendo will do the Greatest Hits when the games stop selling. No point now though.
2) Achievements were invented as a way to get people addicted to gaming, and in turn buy more games. It's a complete marketing scheme. If that's what you need to enjoy games, there are 2 other systems where you can do that.
They sure do. Zelda twilight princess is like almost 3 years old and its still $50, i hate that it should be sold at like $20 bucks or something.

1.Decent online system 2.Good third party supportSonick54Yeah I preety much forgot all about number 1. I hate those huge FCs for every differnt game.
I don't see the appeal of acheivements/trophies and all that. I'm perfectly happy with a game that provides its own incentives and unlockables, no need for some universal acheivement system. I'd rather complete a certain task and be rewarded with actual in-game content rather than some acknowledgement of my accomplishments; or better yet, I'd like games that you don't need these incentives to fully play through and enjoy.

Nintendo will probably do something like that when their games stop selling so well. And seeing as there's no signs of sales slowing down, I'm guessing that won't be happening anytime soon.

Why does the Wii need that? The Wii is fine as it is without any of that stuff, so why add that in? It's not like an achievement system like ones found on the other consoles would make the games any better then they are now.
Why do people want achievements so badly? It's just some random number that doesn't do anything. Not to mention it'll just turn into people renting tons of horrible games just to increase a useless number.
It does need Players choice, badly.nintendoboy16No it doesn't. The games are still selling at full price. Why would they want to lose money like that?

Bob, some Gamecube games still sold well and still got the Player's choice thing anyway, just look at the Naruto games, they still sold well that gen, but got the Player's Choice label anyway.

Thats what the Wii needs, better online and 3rd party support. Is it too much to ask for 1 good RPG. Its sad when I have to fire up the xbox, and I mean the original xbox to play games like Kotor, fable and elder scrolls III.
I don't want to be mean, but crap in one hand and wish for a $20 dollar Zelda:TP and Mario galaxy in the other and see which one fills up quicker. N64 games go for $10 on the VC, the gamecube Wiimakes are going to go for $30-40 dollars and you expect nintendo to take two of the better selling titles from this gen and sell them for 40% of there current price. The entrepenuer in me says this won't happen. It would be nice, but it won't happen. If you want those games cheaper be willing to buy them used.
[QUOTE="bob_newman"][QUOTE="nintendoboy16"]It does need Players choice, badly.ag1052No it doesn't. The games are still selling at full price. Why would they want to lose money like that?for excite truck?? Well they stopped printing it altogether. If they did make Greatest Hits I'd be fine with it, but they would probably only do it for the games that they stopped making, like Excite Truck and Wario Ware. The TC wants Mario and Zelda to be lowered in price though, and that's just not going to happen right now.

Yes, but the Gamecube itself wasn't selling well. They lowered the prices in the hopes that the games, at a reduced price, would become system sellers. But what's the point when the Wii sells out weekly anyway?
i add, the only reason 360 and ps3 offer those is because over half their games has everything unlocked from the get go theres no rewards other then a fake trophie or somthing you get that has no use,
what so ever
so no
and to your first, wii games are cheaper the 360 and ps3 games , there for they dont need em any lower , what are you that poor , why own a wii if you cant afford paying 49,99 oh b y the way buy used ones , there problem solved,
also over half the 3rd party games are 40 and under,

i agree!!
I agree here also. Perhaps they will have a greatest hits this Christmas.
How is it not a marketing ploy? I'd like to hear your reasoning behind that.I'm one of the few people who agrees that we need achievements and trophies. It's not an evil conspiracy like most people think.

well what the wii really needs is a way were you can just save a game on a sd card and a way were whenever you update your wii the flash player used in the internet channel will be updated as well. But what the wii really needs is wiinoma. Now.
Well I remeber Iwata saying that he didn't like that the industry would cut the prices of its consoles as time went on so I would asusme he doesn't approve of cutting software prices either. It's a shame too since there are a couple games I would love to buy (like BWii and Endless Ocean), but I don't have enough to afford those games and newer games that are coming down the road.
As for achievements, well I never really saw what the whole fuss was about with those things so I'm not so concerned with that. Right now what he Wii needs is that storage solution, which hopefully will be fully talked about at GDC.
1. Kingdom Hearts III 2. New Zelda 3. Kingodm Hearts IIIUltamite-NinjaYes. I remember on Nintendo Power had this super nice last page that gave clues that people guessed was Kingdom Hearts, but it was just Sonic Black Knight.

I definately agree with 1. 2, not so much. The Achievements system and Trophies system do have their upsides, but one negative side is that gamers start letting these scores go to their heads and they start playing games for reasons that are unimportant. I really don't want to start seeing Wii gamers do the same thing. People shouldn't have to play crappy games or do things in games they never would have had an interest in before just to build a score. On the idea of achievements, I don't think 360/PS3 style ones really gel with what the Wii is for, let alone its quality as an idea.
However, I rather enjoyed the way the concept was handled in Corruption. Scanning, amassing kills, what have you, and have them all add up to emblems that you use to purchase knickknacks in the game.
I freaking loved bumperstickers. AND my bobblehead. I'd love more rewards like that. Its much more personal than "Showing them online hurf durf"
Achievements are absolutely the most useless invention to ever grace video games. They are useless and I honestly don't even see why people pay them any mind or care whatsoever. If a gameisn't funwithout giving you random arbitrary points for completing specific tasks then......well you get the point.
1. We'll probably see Player's Choice eventually. If it's on the same timeline as GameCube then the first Player's Choice games will be released in September of this year. Also, I doubt we'll see Mario and Zelda on this list anytime soon. 2. A lot of games I own already have these. Collecting all the stars in SMG, collecting everything in Zelda, completing the puzzles in Zack & Wiki for full points. Is it just that you want a checkbox and an icon for these?Skie7I don't really think they will do players choice things because look at how their games are selling at full price. For nintendo its a good thing for them, but not for us.
