I wonder when Toadster is going to show up in this thread. He's been complaining about this game for quite a while and now we finally have it.
Wow... I thought I wouldn't be buying a point card until Mega Man 9 came out. For such a great week, how can I not buy one? Besides, I need to own Super Mario RPG again after I lost the original cartridge I had...(well, I really didn't lose it)
OH MY GOD, THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST WEEK EVER FOR THE VC. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT, I'M SO HAPPY I FEEL LIKE CRYING. SUPER MARIO RPG IS MY FAVORITE GAME. THIS GAME GOES BEYOND BEING EPIC, IT'S SO AWESOME. I HAVEN'T BEEN THIS EXCITIED IN SUCH A LONG TIME. FINALLY, THANK YOU NINTENDO.

A little to exited for someone who I assume already has the game...

For me, Im excited since this game is $35 everywhere else! I dont know about you, but I dont feel like paying 35 bucks just to play a SNES game that I know will eventually head to the VC as promised.
I got it for $11.
I am tempted to buy this game even though I own the original cartridge. Its that good.TheLordMagnus
I know. I'm going to buy it again...

Whoah! Where and when did you pick it up for $11? I would much rather own the original than a downloadable game.
Jesus! No ones played it! Its a Nintendo game, I thought most would already know everything about it.-OathI haven't heard of/seen this game before everybody had been begging for it to be on VC.

I got it from a store call GameChamp. Their Snes game prices are a freakin steal. I got Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid and Secret of Mana for $10 each.

No one did Snes back tracking I guess. I still buy Snes games to this day.

My bro traded it back in 2001 to get our ps2 :(. We got a decent deal though (snes+dkc123+killer instinct+yoshi's island for $300).[QUOTE="Cheese-Muffins"][QUOTE="-Oath"]

I would have loved to go there... I have a store in my town called Rhino Games, and they were my only hopes of getting such rare titles for consoles such as the Saturn and such until GameStop bought them out... I once found Shining of the Holy Ark there for only $7!(that's considerably cheap) I didn't have money so I did what I usually did: Begged my mom like crazy to justify this purchase. It failed and I lost the chance of getting a rare title. :( Though the place you got there sounds like my kind of store. lol
Is it worth owning if you don't like Mario games? Like, does it have a substantial plot and is it not so formulaic?clicketyclick
Not formulaic in the slightest, you meet 2 all new characters to the Mario universe (For your party, many other new characters involved in entire game), Bowser becomes your ally, bigger evil at large than Bowser, travel to familiar and new places.... and its an RPG.

Your lucky youve even seen Holy Ark, Ive been looking for that game along with Lunar 1 and 2 and Legend of Oasis for the longest! I eventual gave up ad sold my saturn though. But if your looking for rare games still, just try online, never fails ;)

Wait, I just read about it on wikipedia. It sounds identical to Super Paper Mario.

Not sure if they are. I have SPM but never bothered to play it:P

I know I was lucky, along with being honored to even hold the game in my own bare hands while being glorified to see it there. I'm currently in a desperation to play Shining Force III... Even if it's one Scenario, I'd do almost anything to play it... Though online is rather tough for me to do, seeing how I'd have to buy a pre-paid credit card, and I am financially stumped for now.(luckily I just got a job :) )
Wow, I haven't played SMRPG in ages. I don't remember getting very far in it though. Dark_Link142
Guess you now have the chance to finish it. ;)

Oh man, I drool at the thought of playing SFIII, great series.

If Shining Force II came onto the VC, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it, regardless that I still have a functional copy of the game. :P The greatest thing ever would be Camelot and Sega partnering to create a new Shining Force game. :) That would be the day...
It's not identical. Super Paper Mario is more action based, with a little RPGness mixed in. Super Mario RPG is mainly an RPG, with some action elements. jeordie015
Ya, but with regards to the plot and the formula. I prefer my RPGs to have some... depth and freshness. *flame-shields activate!*

Lol, you're a big spender: buying games with no intention of playing them!
all I can say is "its about time."
However shortly after everyone's beaten it people will go back to demanding a bunch of other games- Earthbound, DK 64, Chrono Trigger, etc. But at least now we won't have any more topics of "Where's ma Super Mario RPG?!?!?!"
SMRPG is the early days of paper mario pretty much right? Im sure theres going to be a ton of whinng in the coming days:P Im going to download it only made one bad purchase and that was Axelay so thats 26 good buys:o so i doubt ill be dissapointedCheezy-BeezyIf you're into RPGs, you'd like Super Mario RPG much more than Paper Mario.

They're not going to release Chrono Trigger. Or at least, it makes no sense to. It's coming out on DS and to release it substantially cheaper on VC would eat into Square-Enix's profits, so I would think they don't want to do that.
I get great deals online but yeah, its a sickness I have:P

Ebay? Or some exclusive club? For new games, I always find ebay to be more expensive on account of jacked up shipping prices.

Nope, SMRPG is irrelevant to the paper series, it was a test to see how well a RPG mario game would do, and see what they would need to improve. Paper Mario 64 originally started out as SMRPG2 while in its early stages but Nintendo scraped that project and started over and made Paper Mario 64.
