I was just wondering if it's worth it to go buy the classic controller and a 2000 Wii point card for the virtual console games. I know that everyone here would love to play the old Mario and Zelda games again, but I really want to know if it's actually worth it to go buy it.

Like you say if you want to play the classics, go for it.

By the way, I have 19 VC games.

I'd only suggest it if there's a gmae you havn't played. If it's one you already played, it's pointless to go buy it from the shop.

If you want to play classic games then I think its definately worth it. I own 28 VC games at the moment and plan to get many more.

I think I'm going to head down and get the controller and points card now. I remember spending hours playing Mario on my NES, and I never actually beat Zelda: OoT. Thanks for the info.

If you playedthose games in the past and want to enjoy them again, then go for it. Most people who try an old game they never played before usually get disappointed. But with the VC, it seems like retro gaming is becoming pretty popular, so who knows. I personally love the VC. Being able to "collect" Metroid, Castlevania, and Zelda games is just too awesome for me. I just wish they would add a game boy advance emulator on there so I can get metoid 2 and the plethora of castlevania games that were released.

VC games seem natural and just like i remember them so long ago. the classic control is a must if you want to play anything like mariokart or pretty much anything else for N64 (unless you have GC controllers)

one of the big reasons i bought a full set of wiimotes is because of the 4-player battle/racing mode on mariokart, which also led to the purchase of 4 classic controls...

in the end it's up to you... but it's worth it

you don't really need the Classic Controller, it really depends on what games you are planning to buy...

You can play most games with the Wii mote or with the GC controller. The classic controler is optional.

You don't need a Classic Controller if you have a GC controller. And a lot of games work with the Wiimote. But yes, VC games are fantastic. Just choose wisely of which games are worth downloading.

I found the controls for Super Mario's 1/2/3 to be kind of crap with the Classic. I wish they wouldn't make the buttons on such a slant (A and B) or at least let you sprint with Button 1 and jump with Button 2 (See Diagram)

i don't think you're supposed to use the classic control for SMB 1,2, or 3... it's way better to use the Wiimote by itself...

it's way more like the original NES control
