I've had enough of the VC, enough nostalgica for now, bring on WiiWare I say.stevo1000
You're kidding right?
So you want new crappy games instead of classics that still shine today?
Well to each their own but man that's one heck of a statement

I'm looking forward to what Wiiware can offer more than any upcoming disc game, but I also love my VC games.

I doubt all WiiWare games will be crappy..

I want everything but the Virtual Console has a plethora of games that stand the test of time. To say that you'd want that pipeline closed off to have new games of questionable content just baffles me.
I went on strike when they didn't release DKC in the US. The strike was called when they did. I was thinking about striking because River City Ransom wasn't on the US VC, but they don't really listen so screw it.
That being said, if they release games you don't like, you wouldn't buy them anyway. Essentially, you're striking by them releasing what you don't like, now aren't you?
I don't think the problem is so much the quality of games, but the number of games. We were promised 3-4 games per week initially, but now it's down to 1-2 per week. There are "virtually" thousands of legacy games that are at Nintendo's disposal... Sega, Hudson, Capcom, Konami and others have many more games to offer. We should be getting at least 4-5 games available every week... even if 2 or 3 are mediocre.

Who said all the wiiware games are crappy?
I personally think that they will be great.
[QUOTE="chefstubbies"][QUOTE="slimdave21"]The last game I downloaded on the VC was Super Metroid back in August. The next time I download a good one is when they release Secret of Mana or Earthbound or Chrono Trigger or Dragon Warrior 4.I'm not downloading any more Virtual Console games until they bring out something great on the VC...
If nobody would download the garbage Nintendo has been putting on the VC... They would have to put good games.

So you seem like an RPG fan with your hip anime Chrono Trigger avatar yet you didn't download Phantasy Star? This just kind of proves what the VC needs is more EDUCATION on the titles and not more *pop* titles.
Well it's obvious you're trying to be insulting so let me say this in response:
Yes, I am an RPG fan, and not only do I have a Chrono Trigger avatar, I have a Chrono Tattoo. Do you somehow have knowledge of all the games I have in my collection on the Wii's VC or otherwise?
You critisize me for not downloading Phantasy Star on the VC (great game by the way)...did it ever occur to you that I like many other people may own the Sega Collection on the PS2 which contains Phantasy Star 2, Phantasy Star 3, and Phantasy Star 4?
What exactly do you mean by "the VC needs more education on it's titles"?
And are you saying that Chrono Trigger, Earthbound and Dragon Warrior 4 are *pop* titles? And what the hell is a *pop* title?
Don't come on to these forums and be a jerk to me. I didn't say anything like"the VC sucks" or "all the games on VC suck" I simply ststed what games I'm holding out for.
wasn't this system designed for everyone, and as some people have already said you purchase what you want, i admit there are some games im waiting for, notably the master system coming to the europe vc, but when i get round to buying more points ill buy some more games, i personally can't wait for some more good games i would love mario allstars, but i know that aint gonna happen for a while.
im waiting for every original sonic game bar Flickes island to come to the vc.

I'm hoping that you just quoted the wrong person. :) I love the VC and its about 75% of the reason I bought a Wii.

Are you saying basically that you won't buy a Virtual Console game until you see one that you want to download?
If so, isn't that... kind of the way all purchases work? :P
Wait. what? You must be kidding me, I thought we were all forced to buy every single VC game, even if we did not like them /sarcasmAs for me, all the good games that, I still have in a cartridge. My NES, SNES still work just fine as well as my Genesis. I have not had he need to buy any VC games, though that Sin & Punishment game looks like a must buy. I've been spending all my video-game-money in collecting GCN games.
Well, someone was not around back in the day, Lolo was a great game, and it still is. Maybe the puzzle element of it is a little hard to grasp for you(?) sorry not everyone still has 20 year old systems... and wow you have been spending all your money on gcn games, thats good, im sure everyone here cares alot about your personal purchasing choices. sad...Bad games like: The Adventures Of Lolo

EDUCATION? what the world needs is education on virtual console games on a nintendo video game system? that comment makes me scratch my head...EDIT THE REST OF THE POST
first off personal attacks like that arnt aloud and I have reported it... second what he was saying was that the poster before him needed to be educated ABOUT the games and not just be interested in "Pop" (as in the popular titles that every is jumping on the bandwagon with such as in Earthbound, mario rpg, and whatnot) titles....you are new here so here is what you should do
first... understand what some one is saying before you quote them.
second... if you are going to post a differing opinion do so in a respectful manner as to stimulate an honest debate instead of just getting you modded.
third... never post such mean hearted attacks at a person as you did in your last post.

I felt insulted by him with two of his comments, but please don't feel the need to insult him holding his baby. An insult like that will only overshadow whatever valid point you are making. I have kids myself, so mabye I'm just sensitive to that...but still...he was just stating his opinion, no matter how vastly wrong it was.
most of the games on the VC are crap... but they do have some good ones (the donkey kong countrys, super mario world, super mario bros 3)... but i'm still waiting for DK64 and SNES mario kart... 2 great games that you would have thought would be out already. i'm not going to 'strike'... but those are the only 2 games i really want that i don't have, so i won't download anything until they are out.
also, has anyone heard what games are out tomorrow?

I know Nintendo isn't big on online like MS is, but I have to ask if Nintendo is adding any functions like online to games like SNES mario kart. That would be off the hook!
Otherwise I still have my trusty snes and the damn thing still works too! : )
im so with you, i havent been able to buy a VC game for 4 months, not because i had no money but because i didn't think any were worth buying, and dont get me wrong they can release the odd bad game, but there should be one that most people like a least once a month. and i know my retro games...
edit, i forgot i did buy phantasy star 2, so its been a little over a month since that, and its been about 3 months before that that i've bought a game i thought was good, i like a lot of games, i just don't see enough on there that could easily be put on the VC.
If people stop downloading Virtual Console games, they will discontinue Virtual Console support. It's not stopping them from selling systems, and I"m convinced that is all they care about anymore. Software sales apparently doesn't mean anything to Nintendo. I wish analysts would measure total system software (game) sales as a measure of success.
