It's all because they don't even want the possiblity of messing up their image in the minds of parents. Voice chat will naturally have people cursing and all the online bs we get from Live and PSN but it's still a required feature in this-gen for online gaming. Nintendo SHOULD make voice chat available for SSBB and Mario Kart but they won't because they're afraid parents are gonna be turned off by the Wii because their children hear people cursing, threatening, etc. onine. It's still a blow to hardcore Nintendo fans because SSBB would be so much better playing online if we had some kind of voice chat.hyofinkl
No it's not it's just that Nintendo doesnt know how to do voice chat. It's very diffucult after all you know but I'm sure miyamoto and Itawa and whatever are putting their heads together to discover this alleged "voice chat" attribute type thing.
In the mean time who cares I really dont want to hear anyone else's voice they'll ruin the game's musical score
I'm happy they haven't added it yet and I've made sure that everyone that agrees with me contacts Nintendo some way to express their thoughts on the subject too.

If your only care is the voice will ruin the sound, you shouldn't be bothered. If a voice chat will be developed for Wii, there should be an otion to restrict it. Hey, I mean there is a restriction for children so it won't be difficult to restrict the voice chat as well.
I understand not having chat with random strangers, I fully support that, but at least allow us to communicate with our friends. That's not asking much.ozzsoadBeen saying that for months just program it so whoever is on the FC for that game or on your Wii can chat.

I hardly ever use that on PSN or XBL, and there are plenty of people that never use it at all.

And i dont even think nintendo is trying to promote online gaming anyway. If anything it seems like they are trying to demote it. they seem to want people to come togeather in one spot and play rather than play online

Agreed, and why would SSBB any better with it? It doesnt need it and I dont want to have to listen to something that would most likely give me a headache. It doesnt add to the gameplay at all, its not like it has team based gameplay

SSBB would be much better with it! Being able to know whoever the heck you're even PLAYING would make SSBB better. When you play multiplayer games, do you just sit there in silence and play whoever walks into your door? No! You play friends, and you like a little trashtalk (if you don't, the only multiplayer game you've obviously been playing is Wii sports. then again, people even trashtalk in that.) It puts competition into the gameplay, and it makes for a fun experience. If you don't agree, that's your opinion, but I believe most people would agree that a little talk would ramp up game experience in Brawl.

There is a difference between friends and other people you play online. The first is a bonding experience the other people just annoy.
they just mainly want the people to have a good experience when playing online, instead of being insulted by a bunch of dumb kidsmakaveli_89
talking to people sometimes makes it a "better" online experience

most of the time ur not gonna meet that crazy person on xbl, its exactly the opposite its once in a while u will and for the most part meet kids to talk to and have fun with... voice chat is very significant

Again, only opinion. It might be significant to you, but not for everyone. I've met many nice people over XBL and PSN, but I've also met quite a lot of people that like to offend for no reason. I know not everyone on those networks is a jerk, most of them are OK even, but the games mentioned above, I can certainly deal without the voice chat. I've already played SSBB on-line, believe me, I am not missing anything by not having voice chat.[QUOTE="Microsoft1234"][QUOTE="scottie300z"]Opinion, and no, it is not required. Personally, I always thought the best thing about SSB was playing it with friends, and if there was voice chat I would be able to do so with my friends who live too far away to play SSB at my house. It's not like the lack of voice chat will ruin the game for me or anything but it would certainly be cool. And as other people have said before they could just restrict the vc to people on your friends list so you wouldn't have to worry about annoying strangers giving you a headache.

It's cool to talk to friends online, sure, but 90% of the time it's just little annoying kids swearing and playing God-awful songs through their mics. If you call that social, you might need to get out more.

trust me i mean talking to friends, id rather play a decent game on 360 with voice chat with friends rather than a great game on wii with no voice chat, its an absolute joke

Read the GDC interview with Masuhiro Sakurai on IGN.com in the wii section and you will understand why nobody is willing to put VC on the wii's wi-fi connection.

That is def. not the reason. Its the hardware limitations of wii. Where exactly would you plug in the mic, I honestly don't think it will be wireless and I think servers would overload with voice chat. I never played Wii online, I own a Wii but whats the point of Wii online? Might as well just face the CPU. Wii isn't for online play just for like multiplat when friends are over (reason I got it.) For actual gaming I usemy PS3.

If you look at it that way I guess. It's a more plausable reason then Nintendo fearing parents hearing swear words from an infant.
