[QUOTE="Cesar_Barba"][QUOTE="hyofinkl"]It's all because they don't even want the possiblity of messing up their image in the minds of parents. Voice chat will naturally have people cursing and all the online bs we get from Live and PSN but it's still a required feature in this-gen for online gaming. Nintendo SHOULD make voice chat available for SSBB and Mario Kart but they won't because they're afraid parents are gonna be turned off by the Wii because their children hear people cursing, threatening, etc. onine. It's still a blow to hardcore Nintendo fans because SSBB would be so much better playing online if we had some kind of voice chat.Microsoft1234

Opinion, and no, it is not required. I hardly ever use that on PSN or XBL, and there are plenty of people that never use it at all.

Agreed, and why would SSBB any better with it? It doesnt need it and I dont want to have to listen to something that would most likely give me a headache. It doesnt add to the gameplay at all, its not like it has team based gameplay

most of the time ur not gonna meet that crazy person on xbl, its exactly the opposite its once in a while u will and for the most part meet kids to talk to and have fun with... voice chat is very significant

Again, only opinion. It might be significant to you, but not for everyone. I've met many nice people over XBL and PSN, but I've also met quite a lot of people that like to offend for no reason. I know not everyone on those networks is a jerk, most of them are OK even, but the games mentioned above, I can certainly deal without the voice chat. I've already played SSBB on-line, believe me, I am not missing anything by not having voice chat.

no thats not an opinon whether or not chat is significant, its an opinion whether its good for online or bad for it because of random kids who yell online, but without voice chat that could sway people away from playing it, i know plenty of kids who have a 360 and dont touch the wii because of how much better the online is on xbl compared to wiis its a problem that nintendo could easily fix (parental controls?) and need to before enough people forget about the wii.

Parental controls? While they are there on all current consoles, just how many parents actually take the time to set it up. If parens actually took the time to set things up, then XBL wouldn't have the many kids that go there and make the place worse (of course, there are just as much if not older players as well.) I know some parents have no idea of how to set those up as well. I had to teach my cousin how to set them up for his Wii, yet, when ever he allows his children to play on XBL, he constantly supervises them. That is how things should be really, but the reality is that there are many people who just find it much easier to just blame a big corporation, then take responsibility of their own actions.
As for your friends not touching the Wii simply because of the Wii's on-line capabilities, I can only say that they are missing on some good games, but it's their choice and I am not going to beg them to start playing a Nintendo console. I still say that voice chat is not significant, it's opinion, as you contradicted your self in saying that "...without voice chat that could sway people away from playing it." that sounds like the opinion of people choosing a system if it has voice chat or not.
Still, I can see why some people would want it, yet personally, I could care less, and am more inclined to be on jasonguy's side on that matter.

some of us aren't anti social on-line :roll:Link740
Some of us read everything before replying. Don't know why it would make me anti-social to not demanding for VC over Nintendo's WiFi. I still prefer to have my friends come over to my place and playing against them, but I guess that makes me an outcast. I guess having people in my buddy list on XBL and PSN makes me the outcast as well.

I get cussed out enough on XBOX Live. I am looking forward to the quietness of Smash Brawl. Especially if I end up not winning very much.

In the mean time who cares I really dont want to hear anyone else's voice they'll ruin the game's musical score

persianlink

If your only care is the voice will ruin the sound, you shouldn't be bothered. If a voice chat will be developed for Wii, there should be an otion to restrict it. Hey, I mean there is a restriction for children so it won't be difficult to restrict the voice chat as well.

I was being sarcastic my friend... oh and I have no idea what your statement is supposed to suggest. might you clarify if you find it to be worth it?
