It's really sad... I mean does Nintendo dislike to do anything that might cost them money? Would it be so bad to release the second and third Prof Layton puzzle games to the US? At least a confirmation so that we can spread the news around and get more people to buy this game, if that's what Nintendo's looking for... Oh well

it would be such a shame if they didn't finish out this series in the states despite the critical acclaim layton received.

the first one was released only a year ago. It takes time to localize, there have already been rumors that it's coming. Just wait.

Layton didn't sell that well, I don't think, so probably yes to your first question. :(

Buddy, the game sold merely a thrid of what it sold in Japan, and the US is a larger market then Japan.

The game didn't sell, so I don't see the sequel coming.

Isn't there a secret door in Professor Layton and the Curious Village that requires you to to have the password from the sequel? I'm sure that they are going to release it to America/Europe, maybe they are just taking there time with it. Their very long time with it. If they still have no mention of a release date by 2010, than I think that you should give up hope.

If not, I'm going to have to start learning Japanese. Of course then again didn't it say to be continued at the end of the game? Seems kinda silly not to continue it after putting in something like that. Oh well, only time will tell.

According to vgchartz.com, the first Layton game sold more in Europe and North America (combined) than in Japan. The game also got really great reviews from every game website. It's pretty safe to say we'll get localized versions someday. Keep in mind that these games are probably much harder to localize than your average japanese game...

I was going to say, the game sold pretty well here in the UK. It even had its own TV advertising, which was a suprise to me at least. I'm sure we'll see sequels eventually.

I hope we will!

I would import the game or something if the storyline of the Layton games wasn't so essential to the experience!

Nintendo just hates the idea of pleasing their fans and making money at the same time. Thats why we havent seen Mother 3 in US, or Earthbound on VC. Kind of surprising that we probably wont though, it was critically acclaimed and if memory serves me right, it sold pretty well.

Yeah, I'd agree there...I am struggling to find it for sale anywhere at the moment except on Amazon...

Seriously? Even though it's a year later? We have them in abundance over here... Heck I could give you 3, and it'd still be no trouble at all :P

Yes we WILL see a new Layton game but I don't think it'll come anytime soon. After you finish the game, there'll be bonus options and you can listen to teh soundtrack and watch the cut scene again. One teh the option is to enter a certain passcode that you will get in the sequel of the game. So there WILL be a Professor Layton and Pandora's Box.

The second proffessor layton has already been released in japan and will be released here soon enough. There is also an upmcoming live action proffessor layton movie and an anime movie coming according to kotaku which sounds pretty stupid to me.
