I bought that little blue/black/grey pouch style case. It's very well designed. I don't understand screen protectors--I see them doing more harm than good in the long run.

Trapping dirt/moisture against the screen w/no ability to ever clean it. Those things never really go on clean. It's always nice to have the ability to physically clean something if you really need to. Having no scratches just requires proper care.

Anybody know, off hand, what the maximum size/speed SD card you can throw in a 3DS? I think I'd rather get one big card before I started buying stuff off the shop.

For the last 5+ years most screen protectors are made of the same material as window decals. There is no adhesive, and they can easily be taken off the screen, rinsed clean and then reapplied. If some piece of dust does get under the screen protector, it can easily be removed with scotch tape without fully removing the screen protector. And, on the off chance that it DOES get scratched, the DS is still intact. The screen protector can be replaced and the screen will be good as new. No matter how careful I am with touch screens, I end up scratching them a little bit so I always get screen protectors.

32GB SDHC card. That's the biggest they make and it works in the 3DS. I have one and it works great in my 3DS.

I agree, which is why I do not use screen protectors myself. On the other hand, they are great for children who give their screens a lot of abuse.

Nothing.

I'm using the case I got from Club Nintendo (the pouch) and I have a microfibre cloth already for cleaning the screen.

I never understood those "starter kits." One, they are overpriced. Two, I think they are meant as gifts--something a parent that knows nothing of games might buy for their child. Three, you are better off waiting for a deal on Amazon, where they consistently sell 50 dollar earphones for sub 20 dollars.

So far none, as I already had a skelly bag/purse thing for my ds lite that my 3ds seems to fit in perfectly..

However seeing as I have to drive 40 freakin min to gamestop today to get 2 WoW time cards I plan on checking out what kind of cases etc they have in stock for the 3ds..

EDIT:

Ok after going to gamestop and finding the case that Micro (user on this board) had told me about and seeing it in person I bought it in the color black.

http://www.gamestop.com/nintendo-3ds/accessories/3ds-microsuede-touch-pak/89893

It holds 3 games + 1 in the system = 4 games .. and it is VERY soft and durable, and the button close doesn't effect nor rub the 3ds in anyway, and it comes with 2 Huge stylus.. (which my hubby stole 1 of my new huge stylus for his ds since he says its perfect size stylus for men who have large hands, lol).

Imo well worth the $15 I payed for it.

other then the case the only other thing bought would be a crap load of regular ds games and 3ds games.

Hey i was tempted on getting that case but i am not to sure. The reason i don't know if the button is hard to close or makes pressure on the 3DS possibly causing damage in the long run. What about with the 3 games inside? Does it close without foce?

To answer your questions:

Is it hard to close.. nope not at all.

Does it put pressure on the 3ds or games.. Nope not at all, there is a good amount of padding between the button and where the system is stored... Therefore will not cause any damage to the 3ds or games.

Does it close without force.. when i close mine i dont apply much force at all even when i have 3 games stored in it.

The only downside I can see if that there is nowhere for an extra stylus or the jumbo stylus that comes with it, other then that imo its a great case.. and its small enough to still be able to fit in you pocket unless you wear those skinny/tight jeans.

Heirren

How do they do more harm than good?

Trapping dirt/moisture against the screen w/no ability to ever clean it. Those things never really go on clean. It's always nice to have the ability to physically clean something if you really need to. Having no scratches just requires proper care.

I'm not sure how moisture would get trapped below a screen protector, and if you clean the screens before application and work carefully then you won't have any dust trapped under there, either (the Hori protectors on my 3DS are all but invisible; you can only tell they're there if you hold my 3DS up to the light and catch a relfection off the edges). I look at it as cheap insurance since it's inevitable that a touchscreen will get scratched at some point in its life, so having a protectve layer between your stylus and original screen is at the very least good for peace of mind.

Of course it goes without saying that you should only use a quality protector. There are some cheap, nasty ones on the market that really can do more harm than good (I'm thinking of the infamous Pelican brand protectors that left sticky residue behind). Just buy Hori brand, and you won't have any problems.
