I just got a Black Wii a few days ago and I am trying to learn everything about and what to get and what not to get.

I bought an additional Remote + motion plus and a Nunchuck, HD Component cables and I bought a Nyko (black) dual charge station. Is there anything else that I should be investing in?

Awii lan adapter for a wired internet connection might be worth while if your wii is close to your internet source. I always had disconnection errors when i was wireless and it stopped immediately once i got one.

I personaly prefer the rechargable batteries over the charge station but.

If you like racing games then I'd recommend getting a Wii Wheel. Which you can actualy get bundled with Mario Kart or Excitebots, both of which are great games. And an SDHD card if you plan on downloading any WiiWare or VC games, so you can save them to the SDHD card instead of taking up a ton of space on the Wii and it's also good to have if you want a way to back up for your save files.

I was also going to say a CCP but I noticed you said you were gonna get one in your other thread so :P

Nope. Other than the SD card, just invest in more games.

personally, i use the Wiiwheel and Nyko Perfet shot. if you play raacing games or any on rails shooter, i think they are a must have. But wiizapper is only worth getting for links crossbow. I have tried the balance board and it works fine and everything, but i have no use for it.

Rechargeable batteries. And by that I mean AA batteries. Not charge stations.

This is an absolute MUST HAVE.

Wii Horse Riding Concept

The Wii Horse Riding Peripheral. Complete with Rumble Seat and Vitality Sensor. If you got a Wii and you got money, this should be #1 on your MUST HAVE list. 8)

rechargable batteries (standard AAs will do the job) and, if you intend to download alot of VC and wiiware games, an SD card. if its a new wii then it probably came with Wii motion + built in. check the controller. if it came with wii sports resort in the box then it definately has WM+. if you want to play gamecube games then a GC memory card and controller will be required. thats about it really.

If your into racing games go to Amazon and get that discontinued Logitech racing wheel. It's a measly 20 bucks now and it's great. I have a second one on the way because at that price why not.

Classic Controller, Nunchuck, and I'd recommend a charge station. That is unless you like going through pack after pack of batteries. Or you have duracell rechargeables already like me. : )

Well, a great way to communicate with friends via the wii speak channel, with very good games that use it (Animal Crossing, The Conduit, Endless Ocean Blue World, Monster Hunter Tri) I would never call it a "stupid" accessory. It makes games more social, instead of "just me in my world" with a headset.

Nintendo doesn't even support Wiidpeak anymore so why tell him to buy a peripheral that no games from now on will support? If he's going to do voice chat, He needs to get the Headbanger Headset seeing as to how that is what will be used from now on. Wiispeak is a good idea but honestly the sound quality is terrible. It picks up all the noise in the room including noise from whatever game you're playing which causes unnecessary noise. Headbanger Headset would be the wise decision here.

Some of the must have Wii accessories are Microphone, charger, Remote controller, Laser Gun and so on. When i want any of the accessory for my Wii, i always go to http://www.brandsdragon.com/WII-st2-sid291.html. All these accessories can be availed at much cheap rates now.

Great thread guys. Thanks. I have been holding off making the wii plunge due mostly to financial constraints. Being a nintendo family though, this Xmas is finally the right time. I've purchased the majority of our equipment used but most of the controllers are new. Main question is several here have listed the classic controller pro as required, what for might I ask? I've bought 2 separate wii motion plus controllers to add to the original 2 that came with an older white system. I also bought 2 classic controllers intending to see them used in new super mario. Now that I have the game i realize the classic controller isn't going to work with it, so, other than monster hunter tri what do i need a classic controller for? I bought a couple of nifty little cases that kinda transform standard wii controllers to the classic style for comfort. I also bought 2 separate charging stations to accomodate all 4 controllers... was that a mistake? I have a large selection of top notch rechargeable's aa's. I also bought a pair intec wireless nunchuk adapters, usefull or no? Thanks again for the wisdom :)

@ MaddogBC,

You really the C1assic Controller (Pro) for Virtual Console games and some WiiWare games, and also just as an alternative gamepad, because some games just play much better with it, SMBB for example. The motion controls just suck for some games, too many to list and can't remember them off the top of my head though. Playing Mario Kart with the gamecube and C1assic Controllers were way better than playing with the wheel IMO, I did much better. It's just really nice having a 'normal' controller as an option. I really wouldn't recommend wireless nunchuks, they're useless to me, yep.

@ TP, I recommend a USB keyboard if you're planning on playing Monster Hunter Tri. . An large SDHC or SD card with a SDHC adaptor that usually comes with it for Virtual Console/Wii Ware, because the Wii's storage is pitiful. Clasic Controller is needed.

Awesome thanks for the reply. The nunchuk controllers were a doorcrasher special anddirt cheap. Sure is easy to crazy on controllers... I even got a pair of boxing gloves LOL. We'll see how much all this stuff gets used soon. I spent months searching for the best deals so I'm not too concerned about an extra peripheral or two. Had high hopes for the steering wheels and tilt acceleration but we'll have to see. I also picked up the charging station with the built in console cooling, anyone tried these?
