What are your opinions on the new game that Nintendo will be announcing in the next E3? Personally, I think it won't live up to expectations.
As of what game it is, I'm thinking something along the lines of Pikmin 3 or a Kid Icarus sequel.

My negative side says the "big secret" will probably be disappointing in some way. Like, it might be like Nintendo Power's "secret" they had an issue or two ago where the big mystery announcement was the new Tales game...a game most of us knew about since last year! Either that, or it may be an announcement where the game is something no one really wanted, like a sequel to Wii Play 2; it IS one of the best selling Wii games, after all. Of course that doesn't mean I want to see a sequel to a mediocre mini-game compliation, unless it comes with a free wireless Nunchuck.
Personally, I'm hoping the new game is a new Star Fox (one that is more like the outstanding Star Fox 64 than any of the more recent games) or a new Earthbound. A new Kid Icarus would be cool, but I have a feeling they'd go in an entirely different direction than the old NES game, which isn't necessarily a bad thing if handled by the right dev team. Pikmin 3, I would buy without thinking, but that's probably going to come out sooner or later so I wouldn't want that to be the big E3 game announcement. Also, a home console Golden Sun sequel would be cool.

agreed, they are never as big as they say they are.

Swifty_Magee
gee i hope not!! WiiPlay is only the biggest selling game because it costs $10 more than buying a wiiremote on its own, so people just buy wiiplay as well...
i think a new Star Fox would be good, as long as they did it right. I didnt like the gamecube starfox adventures...but anyway we'll see wont we.
lol, I would love to see another Chrono Trigger, but I know that won't happen, and it probably wouldn't be for the wii.
I am guessing if anything it would be a new star fox game, Don't get me wrong the first 3 star fox games were Outstanding, but once they made it to the gamecube they went downhill.
If it is a new starfox they better do it right, and bring back the game I used to love when I was younger! :D

Agreed, I'm concerned that it will either be a big letdown to many or will be a game aimed at the casual crowd. Yes, I know that "The Reggie" said it's going to be for the "core" gamer, but on the Wii that could possibly be the casual gamer.
I think you people are hyping this idea of a secret game up more than Nintendo ever did. They only mentioned that they have a game that hardcore gamers would also enjoy.
Mind you, Nintendo's the kind that says hardcore gamers also enjoy the likes of Mario Party.
It better be a new donkey kong platofrmer. it's been too long since we've seen one of those.BuryMe

That'd be enjoyable... but does Nintendo still own 'Rare' ?

They dont need to own Rare...Donkey Kong is a Nintendo Mascot, they have the rights...remember his first game? "Donkey Kong", that was purely Nintendo. So yea Nintendo can still come out with a new DK platformer.

Sweet! Thanks, then I'd be all about DK!
Star Fox for me, but a great one, with the essence of the N64 game with the visuals of those little "cinemas" (to call them that way) in the stage of Brawl.
As long as this surprise isn't like that little September surprise.
Well like Reggie said in the gametrailers tv: "We're gonna unveiled the whole second half on E3" So that tells me that the "Big game" will be amongs the awesome things 08 will have. He also said a phrase like "maximizing key franchises" So that the big game might be for example Kid Icarus, but we will see other Nintendo mascots with their own games.
Personally, I would llike a new Star Fox game. I'm playing SF:Assault now, while it's not bad, I want more airwing missions and less on foot missions. But I would also like new stuff like Disaster day of crisis and remember, Monolithsoft whose making the game, was bought by Nintendo and it's primarily a RPG company who's composed of Ex Square-Enix members. So apart from TOS2 we might see a big RPG from Nintendo as well. I'll let my imagination go wild on this Big game, because there's so many possibilities at this point.
My guess is that it'll probably be a new Animal Crossing game or perhaps that cancelled Kirby game, although I'm hoping for either a new Star Fox or Pikmin 3.
Given Nintendo's recent trend, I wouldn't expect it until around April 2009...
Lets use are brains, shall we?
Pit in brawl+ Pit stage in brawl= Kid Icarus game
Olivar in brawl+ Pikmin stage in brawl= Pikmin game
I think there's a real chance it's Kid Icarus.
My first thought after seeing the Pit cut-scenes in Brawl was: "They're going to make a new Kid Icarus game."
In my eyes, it showed that they had given this franchise alot of thought. I just have a strong feeling that they didn't stop with Brawl cut-scenes, it seemed like more. Conjuration

First of all, if you can't see the value of a game like Mario Party, you can hardly call yourself a TRUE hardcore gamer. Being a mindless idiot who just likes to run around and kill schtuff hardly makes you a hardcare gamer...
That said, does anyone remember the "secret" behind what it is that makes the Wii so great? They hyped the wiimote, teased us relentlessly... and they have more than lived up to that hype. Nintendo should never be underestimated. Sure, they've made errors and bad decisions, but the company has been a success through all of its more than 100 years in existence.
Btw, my vote is for a long awaited sequel to Rush'n Attack!
what about metal gear solid 4 on the wii?mabey cause he was in brawllilZOoLu

Plus on that last part of the interview, he was talking about E3, listen to the show and you'll see
I'm hoping Nintendo pulls out the big guns next E3. I really want to see them keep up the flow of first party titles for the hardcore fans. Kid Icarus, Pikmin 3 (dying to play Pikmin lately, to bad I traded in #2), an ACTUAL DK game, Star Fox, and many others. As for this "secret," it just had better be good.
The number one thing i could ever want is a new IP, but since it is probably a revival of some sort, my list is like so
- Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, a new 2D donkey kong game in the same sense as DK64, or DKC, i never got into the bongo thing it seemed to much like a gimmick, the real super masrio rpg sequel(i don't consider paper mario to be the true sequel, although it was a great game), star fox, and NOT Kid Icarus, i mean i dont even use pit in brawl, i personally dont like hime, although he can fly pretty well, he uses his spinning blade too much in my opinion.
also Golden sun 3 would be nice, even though i feel that will probably be a DS game in the end.
Anyone else think there should be a revival of Rock and Roll Racing?!?! that game is way too awesome for words.
