Metroid is my favorite Nintendo franchise ever and the only one I still care about anymore.
I've been sucked into it for about 16 years, and I can't get enough of it. The only game in the series I don't like is Hunters, and that's a very good track record in my eyes.
I like the 2D Zelda games more the Metroid games but the 3-D metroids more than 3-D zeldas and MP3 is over rated it doesnt hold up to MP1 not even even if you neglect nostalgia....i want them to make Metroid 5 already
I like Metroid Primes better than the Metroids. The atmosphere is more present in the Primes. I love both series though. Both series, i don't really see them as one serie. More like one universe. They are very different. And that's a good thing. If You force a 2D gameplay onto a 3D game it would be bad. They have different advantages.
over all i think the series is great. the games are always among the tip top graphics. the audio is always great, moody giveing off just the right sense of lonesomness. the stories are often a bit thin for me. i would like more NPC's and story depth. more fleashed out charicters ect. but over all one of nintys best IP's if not the best imho.
i've only played through metroid fusion and metroid prime and they are both amazing. I am going to download super metroid off the vc soon. oh, and i played the metroid prime 2 multiplayer and it sucked.
Played through every Metroid and cant think of a franchise that has been so consistent! (Maybe Zelda) People who say they just dont get into metroid havent played super metroid. There is no way that you cant like that game! It sucks u in no matter what! I have loved how the series has progressed over time into the Prime games and I have loved everyone of those as well. Heck I have even put more than 300 hours into Metroid Pinball which is just brilliant! Sad :) but true!

MP2 is great the muiltplayer and ammo system are its only flaws to me.
the originals were rly fun, especially super metroid although id rather have the name not have super in it. the game had alot to do which is why i liked it. u were always up to something. out of the prime series i liked MP1 the best. It had the best atmosphere. i rly liked how everything matched. the terrain, the music, the gameplay, it was awsome. i played through it 4 times all the way through. MP2 kinda kept that feeling, but Mp3(not that it was bad) should not have added any extra charecters. it didnt have that prime 1 feeling. (mysterious/unknown feeling). does anyone get what im saying. I doubt it but thats how i feel.
It's my favourite franchise of all time. It's amazingly amazing.

I share this opinion, I have yet to be let down by a Metroid game (the handhelds were still good for handheld games anyway).
I love them all equally, the handheld ones were impressive, but since Metroid Prime I have been thinking non stop of seeing the SA-X in glorious 3D. Gosh if that happened the game would be M rated :P.
