Apparently some of you don't read what the nintendo execs have said 3 hours of battery life when in full 3D mode with power saver onand 5 hours on its lowest setting with the backlight turned down power saver wont help much in this setting according to nintendo. There is no 8 hours of gameplay or 12 to 14 hours of gameplay on the 3DS your just not gonna get that with the power it will take to run the CPU GPU and the 3D screen and even the screen in 2D since it is far higher resolution the the original DS. If you want 8 hour gameplay ability stick to the original DS but dont fool yourselves into thinking you are gonna get the same amount of gameplay time on a device that is more than twice as powerful.

You're wrong. Turning off wifi, turning on power saver, lowering the brightness, and turning off 3D all at once will extend a full battery's life to 7-10 hours. I plan to keep wifi off if i'm not using it or plugged in (and I'll be plugged in quite often), and brightness at medium-low-ish since I probably won't be playing in the dark often. 3D on only when beneficial to gameplay. The longest I'll be playing in a single stretch anyway is only about 2.5-3 hours

Please feel free to prove your claims with some kind of solid evidense like a link supporting your claims. I have another link that states that battery life on the 3DS will not go as long as the original. As a matter of fact nintendo has stated that battery life could be shorter than 3-5 hours but I'll let you read the article for yourself.

I am willing to admit I am wrong if I see some kind of proof of your claims support with some kind of back up. Dont tell me I am wrong when I am providing proof to back me up.

I know this is ds brand but I don't like the bottom screen. All the games ive played on ds like mario ds, mario kart.etc has made practically no use other then to draw or point and click or to use as analogue stick. Just seems to me if they leaved it out then maybe the battery life of it could've been a little better. Why not just make one screen and make it touch?

I doubt you even read that link. Here it states: " 3DS charging time: 3 hours 30 minutes Battery life playing 3DS games: 3-5 hours Battery life playing DS games: 5-8 hours Nintendo also state that those times are only approximate and may be shorter "depending on operating conditions". The 8 hours upper limit stated for DS games requires the brightness of the displays be turned right down." So the info that's "all over the internet" is the same info that's proving you wrong. Again .

Plenty of games made use of the second screen. Both of the 'Mario and Luigi' games immediately come to mind.

Ok so you are going to spend 250 bucks on a 3DS to play regular DS games go right ahead. My point was if you want to play a 3DS game you are only going to get 3-5 hours out of it. I could careless about regular DS games I am talking about the 3DS games which are 3-5.

"The system will take about 3 1/2 hours to charge and then last about three to five hours on a full charge. That's with the 3D effects activated. The company guesses that people who keep the 3D turned off could get as many as eight hours. Turning off the system's wireless via a switch, lowering its brightness settings or even running it in a dimmer power-save mode will all help the machine last longer. The system charges off of a power cord or while sitting in a plugged-in "cradle.""

Source

If you turn off the 3D, battery life will increase up to 8 hours. Lowering brightness, turning off wi-fi, and extra features will increase it even more.

The only issue I have with is the price. I understand it's 3D, but that's too much for a handheld either way.

This is true, and I'm waiting for a price reduction. However, at least it's cheaper than PSP2's projections...

Screens arent big enough, not as much processing or graphical power as the NGP, only 1 analog nub, low battery life, 3D "sweet spot". Also thinking Nintendo could of done somthing better with the screen considering the NGP will have a 5 inch OLED with 4 times the original PSP's resolution, a resolution that created a picture better than the DSi...

I'd like a feature that would allow me to transfer my VC games from my Wii to 3DS. Or link both my Wii and 3DS VC accounts together.

3DS and game prices are definitely a turn off for me. As usual, Nintendo say they are looking out for the consumers budget, but they are probably making a healthy profit on day 1 from selling 3DS at that price. Sure, you can make the claim that they are business and everything, but would it hurt add more power to the system at the price they are selling it at? Make it possible to get 3G? They wouldn't be posting a large lost from it as the DS and Wii definitely would make up for those lost...
