Im going to say six things and six things only.
1. Graphics equivalent to the 360, maybe better shaders.
2. Better online.
3. All the wii controls, maybe a little more improved.
4. Backwards compatibility.
5. More VC consoles, including gamecube and maybe wii downloads.
6. a $300 price tag.
Bonus, I think they will keep the Wii name, either Super Wii or Wii2.
Lets see.
PS3 level graphics(or just slightly lower, possibly even higher)
Virtual Console contiues to expand
WiiWare upgraded, games look a little better
More memory built in
Online-Exactly the same
That's my thoughts.
Graphics better than PS3
Video cam on the Wii-mote
Better motion
Real-time online- no lags at all
Faster loading times
A lot more memory
And an advanced Mii Channel
i lol at everyone saying PS3/360 graphics. i cant post a link but i remember reading something that Nintendos next console will have graphics that match the competitorsair_wolf_cubed
yeah i remember reading the same thing

I hope you are way off here, because I don't want to be paying those prices for what will effectively be last generation hardware all over again. I would imagine we will get a more powerful console next generation though, we will see but in 3 years time or so 360 hardware will not seem so cutting edge.

That alone doesn't equate to equal performance. And as long as Nintendo sells consoles at a profit, and their competitors sell at a loss, I don't see how they could compete in the graphical department.
For the next nintendo console, i expect that it'll:
- it'll keep the wiimote, except add more buttons
- will have a lot more online games, but they will still not include voice chat
- graphics slightly better, but still not as good as PS3/360
- will not play DVDs or blu-ray discs. The discs will probably be able to hold 16-20 GB
- Virtual Console will include Gamecube games and Gameboy/GBA games
- A price tag of $350 AU (i dont know how much it'll be in US)
- A hard drive with a storage space of 25GB

I hope they don't add too many buttons. One of the biggest problems after the SNES is that the controllers were getting too complicated. Believe it or not this alienated a lot of former gamers.

GCN and Wii discs are based on DVDs. If they go with a higher capacity disc, it would make sense to again base it on a standard format.

Every Nintendo console before the Wii sold at a profit and still managed to compete with power, take the GC for example, launched at £130 and still performed better than a PS2 which was £300 at launch :|. Same price for the N64 and that far outperformed any console out at the time.
Infact the Wii is the first console they have charged more for in years and the one that is technically less spectacular on a spec sheet comparison, ofcourse as we know initially some of that cost would have been bumped up by the cost of the new controller manufacturing (i would imagine remotes are a lot cheaper to manufacture by now though).
Either way its still a long way off and impossible to predict, after all who would have predicted the Wii in 2002?

Both the N64 and GCN came out a fair while AFTER their Sony counterparts. This allowed the cost of the hardware to come down quite a bit. Also the difference in pricing and cost wasn't as extreme as it is this generation... the PS2 was priced 300 at launch (compared to the GCN's 200USD launch price), and it only cost slightly more than that to make. By comparison the PS3 launched at 500-600, and cost about 900 USD to make.
Now it's unlikely that Nintendo will go back to releasing their systems later. This hurts them too much in the long run. And unless their competition narrows the price gap next gen, Nintendo will find it impossible to get even close to the same performance.
more developers- you mean more multi plats but i dont want that either,
being a multiple console owner that i am , i do not want to buy or have 3 choices versions of same game,
only a select few if i must , like i currently have every version of
timesplitters
duke nukem 3d
gta series
driver series and now the wwe series and nascar
beyond that i dont think id like to
for obvious reasons,
and wii has many more developers ioethen ps3 and 360 i asure you,
why because look at the little gaming companies
and more of the big ones,
be honest how long was it since we saw rockstar games do nintendo games, and eidos how about factor 5
and square enix
alll these gaming studios had once said they wont devlope for nintendo consoles again but here they aRE DO I NG so
and all these new ones,
the ones whio made-
classic british motor sport racing
trauma center
kawasaki games-jet ski bike and atv series
and now a new cruisn from midwAY
3 ff games 1 wii ware one 2 disc
we may not see many ps3 360 titles but we dont need those, to have mroe then them
now do we
look at ps1 and dc era,
n64 dc and ps1 had its own titles with very few being on all 3, or 2 consoles,
thats how it was better ,
I agree with kaycon with all the points. But I would also like to add a bigger internal memory like the 360/PS3. That way if DLC will become a game console necessity, it will not be an issue with the wii as it currently is for some people. Getting graphics equiv to the 360 would only put nintendo in the exact same spot it is now. I think their graphics capabilities should be a little bit closer to the competitors than it is now. THAT way more third-party developers are more willing to develop for Nintendo.CheeserificYes, i forgot about storage, that was kind of a given i guess, but ya, i think there will be a built in hard drive. Also, csliney, $300 is only $50 more than the wii and i think that would be worth it for a console like this, remember you are also gonna get all the nintendo games, which are great!
I just want it to dispense tacos. As long as tacos are somehow implemented into the console, I'll be happy.
But not burritos. That's what killed the Dreamcast. Too many burrito ports in the back...just kind of made everything a big mess.
seeing how it wont happen for another few yearss im thinking it will
HD graphics, internal HDD, larger variety of games, play dvds/bluray, online like xbox but free, more VC, and maybe called the Nintendo Multimedia Entertainment System or wii-verlution
I don't think it will use Bluray or DVD I think Nintendo will use their own format that they were experimenting with it holds about as much as a Blu-ray disc but it loads so much faster because Blu-ray loads slow that is why they need the mandatory installs to get rid of the load times, also Nintendo never released a console with long load times they always try keep load times at a minimum, Some Nintendo fans were even complaining that Brawl took 8 seconds (Because 8 seconds is the longest we had to wait) to load because Melee took no time to load.seeing how it wont happen for another few yearss im thinking it will

wow complain for waiting 8 seconds...... i still doubt they will have some sort of dvd player/blu-ray player, if they want to keep the price still affordable. if they can find a way to hold information on a disc as big as a blu-ray, then graphically the limitations are endless practically
I think Nintendo's next 'console' will be an all-virtual machine with big internal HD, high def output, perhaps some backwards compatability for wii/gc games, and an improved online experience. Lets just hope that all the downloaded games will be kept track of as 'account based' so if you need to send it in for repairs you don't lose everything stored when you get a refurb/new one back.

Well I would hope for...
-HD support
-Hard Drive
-The ability to transfer VC games from your Wii to the new console
-More games that use the motion sensor controls. Games like Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Trauma Center use it really well...but I wish more games would implement the "revolutionary" gameplay experience more. And no, I'm not talking about simply tacking on waggle controls.
-A Nintendo channel that doesn't suck. Quick video clips available for only a short time is embarrassing. And why make short demos available for only a limited time? They need to get their heads out of the sand, andf if they're not going to do it with the Wii, then hopefully they will with their next console.
-The re-implementation of the Nintendo seal of quality.
-On par with console graphics of this generation
-No censor bar needed for motion controls
-Nunchuku has full motion detecting support (or other kind of attachment)
-robust online support
-more refined controls
-controller that heats up and cools down depending on the environment in game
-voice recognition built in for developers to use in each region (words and sentances can be added)
-a newly released handheld that can connect to the system
-backwards compatible with Wii, Gamecube, and keeps all purchased VC games.
That's all I can think of for now. That's what I hope for it to have, but I'm hoping that Nintendo blows that list away.

They just modify existing ones. Also faster blu-ray drives already exist, and even more rapid ones will hit the shelves in the coming years. When the next generation comes around there'll simply be no need for installs.
All the "seal of quality" meant was that the game wouldn't break your system. It was in no way a measure of actual gameplay.-The re-implementation of the Nintendo seal of quality.

Heres what i think...
Nintendos Next system will be choice made for HARDCORE games with OPTIONAL Motion controles/controlers for the non-blivers in system wars.
Will have...
1080i suport
Graphics that will compeate with the next Xbox and PS4 (as in just like thereis)
Optinal pay-for online with a free basic service
an option between 5 gig 20 gig and 50 gig HDD in every concole
GCN VC games with Wii games mid way through concole cycle
Full demo (not just portables)
Fully downloadable games (like Wii ware but MUCH bigger)
DLC
Mean while the Wii will stay around for the casuals to enjoy

The Sensor Bar is only needed for the IR pointer. Not the motion controls.

Do you think that would be possible????? I mean, I guess it could be because the guncon guns dont have any sensor bars, correct?Do you think that would be possible????? I mean, I guess it could be because the guncon guns dont have any sensor bars, correct?kaycon11The new one does. Older versions relied on a technique that only worked with CRTs, not LCDs, Plasmas, or any other sort of display.
Please read my earlier posts on the subject.why would they make it to 360/ps3 graphics
wont they improve them to the next consoles that are out after 360/ps3
ziggy87
I believe that the online will be on par with the future consoles
Visuals will be 360/PS3 equivillant, full 1080p
I believe that they'll improve there motion sensing, and make a seperate regular analog controller as well
Virtual Console will possibly expand to the GC
Wii Ware will be improved with better visuals.
Hard Drive
$300- 350$ price
u put on a pair of gloves and control everything with ur hands! And for the generation after that they'll make it like virtual reality so u get like sucked into the tv lolDudeman480^^^^Let us follow this man to gaming Nirvana. lol
