So the Nintendo Wii will reach 5 years this fall and comparing to all the other consoles during Nintendo's history it's ready for a new console. I'm probably ready for one too. It's been a long lifespan and overall I loved my Wii. If they announce it at E3 and have it out in the market in a couple of years I really won't mind just so they won't release it immediately. I would by a nintendo console, only if they do a couple of things:

1. HD graphics/ more powerful system: This is my biggest demand I would like the next Nintendo console to have. The fact that the Wii isn't very powerful is the reason why many dev's refuse to make games on the Wii. If Nintendo decides to make a more powerful system for there next console, this will fix the problems. We will have all of the third party games that the 360 and PS3 has plus will have Nintendo's exclusives.

2. Ditch the Motion controls, but not completely: I think that Nintendo should just stay with the normal controller with no motion controls. This will work better for many games, but I think they should still have a option for it. Just like 360 has there Kinect and the PS3 has the move, I think Nintendo should also make a motion like controller, better then the Wii's, but have it as a secondary option.

If Nintendo does this I would by there next console, whenever they release it. The only reason why I like the Wii so much is mostly because of there brilliant exclusives. If Nintendo does all of this, still have there fair share of games for the casuals, but have way more type of games we are starving for, the next console will be perfect. So what features do you want to be added for Nintendo's next gen console.

Keep the motion controls but have a more precise Wii Motion plus, and have it in both the wiimote and nunchuck (which should be wireless).

HD resolution is a given, anyone who doesn't actually think that will happen lives under a rock.

Same great nintendo first party titles

Hd graphics. Proper online. Club Nintendo (or something similar) for purchase tracking, so that it's no longer tied to hardware. I don't even care if they go all motion controls next gen - and it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't. (but there had better goddamn well be another Classic Controller as an option)

online equal to xbox live and add online Multiplayer to some select virtual console games like mario kart 64 and stuff..

also, TC your point #2 to get rid of motion controls turns your whole thread into a troll thread.

I don't get it, I'm just saying that having motion control as a secondary control for the next Nintendo console would be much better for my specfic preference, not sure what you mean.

I just want it to be the like current Wii, but with the obvious graphical and online improvements. I think the Super Wii should just be a direct evolution (like the SNES and Gamecube) of its predecessor. I'm pretty happy with the Wii now, so I don't want any big changes.

A motion body glove with retina detection for truly emotional experiences. lol... pft.... XD But seriously, I really don't want to upgrade. I want current 3rd parties to REALLY exploit the power under the hood of the Wii as it is. I know that that won't happen, just saying. And before anyone gets really upset - I like the Wii's visuals just fine. I am simply aware of the fact that developers could squeeze more out of our beloved little console if they had the green light to spend more R&D money on creating better graphics engines. And more than that, I want good games. That's why I bought a Wii.

My predictions on the next console:

1-Will be in HD maybe 3D.
2-Motion controls will stay. The vitality sensor will be part on the next controller.
3-Transferable VC/Wiiware games to the next console will happen like DSiWare games on 3DS.
4-Friend codes to stay but it will be universal like the 3DS.
5-Holographic storage (since Nintendo partly ownsthe technology)
6-Unless there's no Broadway and no Hollywood chips, it will be backwards compatible to Wii games but not on GameCube games.

I really don't care if the system is in HD/3D or not, I want the new system to revert back to normal controls and either leave the motion controls as an option or get rid of them completely.
My main concern for round two is that I want a little more 1st party support in games and a better 3rd party support (I do understand there will always be shovelware). I would rather have a smaller library, but better crafted games than tons of games and have most of them be crap. If a lot of the good 3rd party developers such as Atlus, XSeed, NIS, Capcom, Sega, and others can bring more games to the table, that would be amazing. I would love to see more RPGs for the system too. Obviously what I want is not something Nintendo can control other than the control scheme and the 1st party support, but that's what I want.

I want HD and a more powerful system. I don't mind motion controls, but they need to improve them. My biggest complaint with the Wii is that lack of really good 3rd party games. I hope that this is something they fix with the next generation.

HD graphics; there would be no excuse for not releasinga systemwith HD graphics next generation.

Features like the other systems.

Please, for the love of God, never ever to friend codes again. Just do user names and accounts like the other two systems do.

They should also drop motion controls for the most part. They can do what the other two systems do and only use it for games specifically made for it like Red Steel 2 and Wario Ware: Smooth Moves were, but not for normal games where all you do is shake it.

I think these additions would make the next Nintendo console epic, assuming we still got good 1st party games like we're used to.

Improved Motion Plus in both Remote and nunchuck. IR included in the Nunchuck as well. At least two more button on the controller, WiiMote needs to be either shorter or move the 1 and 2 buttons higher. Classic Controller included with system at launch. Free online, no friend codes. As a side note I'd like to add that there is no need to move on to the next system so soon.

720p at 60fps isn't even the standard of the HD consoles. This is what you should expect from Wii's successor imo.

Not to mention HD ready TV owners outnumber Full HD owners.

I'm just saying, if they're not gonna properly utilize the technology past simply shaking it, why use it all? I like how games like Red Steel 2 innovated motion controls but games like Super Mario Galaxy should have had an option for the Classic Controller. How is this a troll thread? I don't think TC is trolling, he's just bringing up the question about what Nintendo should put into their next console.

They can't include Classic Controller support in games such as SMG and TP only because they utilize the IR. Mapping the spin and sword attacks to the motion sensor are also more intuitive and so on besides the fact that the Wiimote simply lacks enough non motion buttons, it's not just about gameplay evolution.

It just feels better.

Now if you're talking about DKCR then I don't see why, though I did reach the 200% completion mark as well as getting the golden time trial award on all world 1+2 levels, then I stopped. The technology works flawlessly, but it does have its learning curve, especially since we've been using buttons for like forever compared to this.

I can understand you'd want it for the sake of preference.

Yeah ofc you're right. Technically it works.

It would still be a downgrade of the gameplay.

The motion in games such as DKCR neither adds or takes away from the experience, it makes more sense to include traditional controller support there.

I think the new Wii should at least have all of the following: A much much more accurate motion control Some market leading HD graphics, cause the current Wii is extremely lacking on that one A few adult games :D 3d Gaming, now that would be uber cool! And finally, some mind-control gaming :D

A game library equally appealing to me as the GameCube's. And hardware equal to the other consoles, so we don't miss as much multi-plats.

1. The graphics would have to be a big enough leap to match Sony and Microsoft's next consoles. This is not the only reason why third party developers dont make games for the Wii though.

Reason #1 - all games would have to be converted over to motion controls since it is standard with the Wii rather than simply remapping the buttons which takes more time to develop properly especially if you want precision control.

Reason #2 - A lot of great third party titles have sold poorly on the Wii due to the market differences. The Wii is highly popular because its marketed towards the casual gaming audience and thus they are the primary market for Wii games. Even multiplats sell far less on the Wii compared to other consoles despite the Wii's 45% market share.

2. I highly doubt Nintendo will ditch motion controls and will most likely stick to their current formula because it sells. I'm sure there will be improvements made to the motion controls and there will still be classic controllers available.

Lol, nice way to ignore the fact that I didn't even say what you claim I did. To answer your question (as though its going to validate anything you're saying), Red Steel 2, Metroid Prime: Corruption, Mario Kart, Bit.Trip Beat, and Wii Sports boxing are my favorite uses of motion controls. I even enjoy the motions used in games like DKCR and NSMB Wii.

Edit: Can also add the ball balancing levels on the SMG games, forgot about those since I don't particularly enjoy those two outside of those levels

so galaxy didnt usethe wiimote properly? forget it..im done with you..

Yeah the game would have been so much worse off with the spin move controlled with a button and no IR star bit collecting. SMG wasn't great because of its use of the WiiMote, it was great because of its amazing level design.

At which point did I say they are not precise? Please, I would love to see where I said that. I said for the next console I wanted to see MORE precise and in both controllers, because hurp durp, people expect the next console to be more advanced than the current one.

i see you ignored my question...fine.

I even enjoy the motions used in games like DKCR and NSMB Wii.

that fact that you couldnt name a favorite and instead listed like 5 or 6 games...tells me you haven't had a experience changing time with a certain game..

anyway...back to what we were agruing about.. just like the "are you disspointed in the wii thread"... all the ps3 and xbox 360,PC people are going to come here giving their 2 cents...people that never post in the wii forum because they hate it come out of nowhere and the thread ends up being 20 pages of hate.. was started off nicely with TC's statement that motion controls suxor..thats all i'm saying.

New way for people to create games..

better operating system.

N64 DD like features: ability to make your own levels and such in games

ex. if they make galaxy 3 theres a option where a player can create his own galaxy and load to a server where other people can download it.

this would add so much replay value.

new ip's, more exclusive content, Just make more games

Where just stating our opinion on what we want for the next console, no trolling at all. I don't mind motion controls, I just rather have the next console without them. You clearly don't the real definition of what "trolling" is.

[QUOTE="Demonjoe93"]I'm just saying, if they're not gonna properly utilize the technology past simply shaking it, why use it all? I like how games like Red Steel 2 innovated motion controls but games like Super Mario Galaxy should have had an option for the Classic Controller. How is this a troll thread? I don't think TC is trolling, he's just bringing up the question about what Nintendo should put into their next console.

KBFloYd

Well how exactly does merely shaking the wii remote enchance the experience like motion controls are supposed to do? I don't have a huge problem with it, I just don't see why they couldn't add a Classic Controller option like a lot of Wii games not do. I don't why I'm saying this, after all, you're "done" with me now.

Oh and before you accuse me of trolling or anything like that, look at some of my System Wars posts and see how much I've defended the Wii and Nintendo in general in the past.

HD, not sub hd

Better online

Better web browser that has flash player, java (they dont really need that), shockwave, and something that isnt really needed but would help; a translator.

Way larger internal memory

Ability to maintain 60 fps without graphics taking ahit

Good cooling so no over heating (so nothing like RoD)

Ability to play DVDs

Backward compadability with Wii (Wiiware andVC too)and GC

Keep motion controls and improve on them

And... Add something mind blowing.
