I've heard the first Xenoblade Chronicles is fantastic, and it recently got remastered for Switch, so maybe you could go for that if you haven't already played it.

Xenoblade 1 definitive edition......by an absolute mile. one of the greats.

Xenoblade 2 is, sadly, very disappointing in comparison. it's story is a mess and it gets way too bogged down in too many irrelevant game mechanics. it could have been brilliant. It has all the ingredients to be even better than the first but they made a mess of it. a big shame :(.

Octopath traveller is also pretty good.

As per suggested get Xenoblade 1, skip Xenoblade 2 its not worth it.

DQXIS is my favorite on the platform. It's a very surprising game. Too easy, but it keeps throwing new things at you to prevent boredom and succeeds

Fire Emblem Three Houses is pretty good. It has great writing and decent combat.

Paper Mario will likely also be good when it releases in a few days.

I might be in the minority, but in terms of ORIGINAL switch RPGs, I had a great time with Xenoblade 2. It's not as good as the fist(due to the story), but it's still a very a good game. Plenty of content and options at your disposal
