Kart outsold Smash last gen
Since when?
Ever?
Because everyone knows Mario Kart Double Dash is the best selling Gamecube game ever. Right. Who here has ever heard of MKDD outselling SSBM, besides Jaysonguy?

Anyone smart enough not to use Wikipedia?
I mean Kart sold 6.6 million for the Gamecube while Smash only sold 6.58
More impressive then that win is the fact that Smash was released two year earlier then Kart was.

I don't need Wikipedia to know that Smash Bros. Melee is the best selling GC title, I though it was common knowledge. I never once heard Mario Kart was the best selling game for that console. May I ask where you are getting your figures?

While their recent numbers can be argued their long term numbers never come into question.

Yeah you see where I said NOT to use Wikipedia?
See how you linked Wikipedia?
This is the first I've ever heard of DD outselling Melee. I find it slightly odd as well. I mean, everyone I knew with a Gamecube has Melee, while my sister is the only one I know with Double Dash. Besides, I'm unwilling to trust any site that replaces an "S" with a "Z". Its like when people trust nexgenwars.com, when all that they do is calculate the rate of sales and let their counter go, they're usually off by a million or so.jmangafan
You have your sites mixed up

D'oh. Reading comprehension is fun.

Not that I want to keep this going, but it doesn't make any sense. I've been searching for the past half hour for any other source citing Mario Kart Double Dash as the best selling Gamecube game, and I haven't found one. Every other site claims Smash Bros. Brawl as the top seller. I've been reading recent comments from people on sites showing a list of the top Gamecube games, and none of them argue against SSBM. No one else seems to think it's true. It's more than odd. I don't buy it. That's all I have to say about it.

I 've heard both versions, SSBM outselling MKDD and MKDD outselling SSBM. In my opinion, SSBM was the winner but at the end I don't care which one had the best sellings, I just know both are pretty funny and excellent multiplayer games. And answering to the topic forum, I think SSBB will be the best seller for Wii.

Electronic Gaming Monthly says Super Smash Bros. I don't remember the exact issue, but I'll post it later.
it comes down to mario kart wii and ssbb. tough choice but im going to have to say ssbb, because not only can u play the classic 4 player modes, but u have a variety of other options such as the homerun contest, and the special events. mario kart will come down to racing and battle mode which i think is limited in variety compared to ssbb. Not to mention that ssbb will have most of the mario kart characters and more including sonic and solid snake.
I have a subscription to Nintendo power and any time they talk about brawl they talk about how Melee was the best selling gamecube game..Even when they used to have top ten charts of gamecube sales Melee was always ahead of the rest..
SSBB is going to take the crown i think this Gen...I dont say Wii play becuase in my opinion its a controller with a free game not the other way around..
I was going to say Wii Play in the bundle with the remote, but alot of people arent into those sort of games?
So in that case im going Mario kart Wii, im sure almost every Wii owner will consider buying it, its a must have!
either SMG or SSBBI3loo
yep! nintendo's strongest franchises are Super Mario , Super Smash Bros, and Mario Kart. the wii does or will have all of those sequels and they will be the top of the line just like they have always been. (this is not to say that Metroid and Zelda aren good, but apparently not at the level of the top three) [personally i think SSBB will reign supreme..... i mean honestly have you seen it?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
