Miis. We all know 'em, we all (kinda) love 'em (or at least making them), but whats the point? I was promised that they would be featured in GAMES, yet the instances in which we can use them is slim to none. Third parties are being forced to make their own version of "Mii"-looking characters, but are clearly not Miis, and they can not be taken from your Wii to be put into the game. So the question is, why doesnt nintendo allow for third parties to use Miis? or why doesnt nintendo find more unique ways to implement them other than the multitude of fitness games they release?

third parties CAN use miis *points at guitar hero*. they just dont because they're too lazy and would rather put the same system for all consoles.

and miis are supposed to be "you in the game", so whenever such thing makes sense, they add them.

PS: BTW, in case you dont know, you can put up to 10 miis on one wiimote to transfer them to your friends' wiis.

It was said that Miyamoto wouldn't let 3rd parties use Miis unless they were quality games.

I honestly think the Miis are a missed opportunity. Maybe next console they'll make them good. Unlockable Mii parts (clothing, hair styles, etc) would be a great thing for Nintendo to add in to their games. Even third parties could do it. Like take No More Heroes, for example. You could unlock the different tee shirts for your Miis (the game just copies the appropriate file to the Wii). Then they need to DO something with the Miis. Games that use them like WiiSports are good, but I think something where you can run around online with other people's Miis and do stuff would be fun. Heck, they could even let your Mii have a pet to follow you around that can be unlocked with certain games (Mario gives goomba/koopa pets, Metroid gives a pet Metroid, Pokemon has a bazillion to choose from, etc.) Of course, it's too late for the Wii to get something like this, as it needs to be designed into the system itself. I just think it's a cool idea. Hopefully our next system will have something like this.

i doubt we'll ever see any kind of "your in-game self" avatar (the ones from PS home, the 360 ones and the miis) in a game where they'd be killed. would be the perfect case for someone like jack thompson... and this time he'd actually win.

As pioneer Mii artisan, I have the most fun MAKING miis and uploading them online and on the Check Mii out channel. Sure there aren't many games that use miis, but I like knowing that many of my designs are used all over the world and people can download them and play as their favorite movie or comic book characters in games that DO use miis.

You really expect a lot from the Wii with all your other rant threads. But on this I say Mario Kart and Wii Sports resort are good enough for me. And I bet Nintendo made them for games like MP3 so you can tell your data apart.

The one way I'd like to see mii's incorporated in to 3rd party games is by using your mii for character creation. Think about it, miis are really just coordinate data. (Eyes #2, 1 size larger, 2 down, color green), (Mouth #1, 2 sizes smaller, 1 down)...and so on.

Now, lets say you have a third party anime styled RPG, or a third party sports game, or a third party sandbox game. When you create your character, you just choose a mii. Then the game takes that coordinate data and replaces it with it's own eyes, mouth, hair and so forth that are designed to look like the mii's eyes/mouth/hair just in the third party's game's style.

Imagine playing guitar hero and with one click, you can make a character that looks like you by choosing your mii.

Maybe there could be a wiiware game that plays sorta like pokemon, but instead of catching pokemon you catch miis? It would use people's miis from any wii logged on to the game to populate the world or just use your mii parade.

Madden '09 uses the Mii's, so your assertion that 3rd parties cannot use them is utterly false.

Maybe Miis could be used in Animal Crossing/Pokemon? I mean, those characters are generic enough. I think it would work.

these are great ideas and really should have been implemented - they should at least have had some customizable clothes from the beginning. but playing mario galaxy and unlocking a mario hat or something would be pretty cool. the wii sports games and MK have used the mii's well, but that's about it. FIFA had a mii match mode that was cool too, but so much more could've been done

I guess I have to say it again. The Clothes and Trinkets are useless. I wouldn't put them in because they are useless and worthless. All you do with it is collect more of it. After that it has no use.

You're so against the idea of Miis having unlockable stuff, but can you explain why? I mean, sure you might not care for it, but that simply means you wouldn't use it. Why would this be bad in any way? It's not like having unloackable stuff for Miis will make them any less usable in Mii related games. We get it. You don't like item collecting. Guess what? We do. By your logic, Animal Crossing should have never been made, because it's "useless". But hey, it's popular. Imagine that!

Mii's should be in Brawl. Final smash:Mii parade, calls Mii's from your Wii(friends Mii's that Mingle also) and beats the **** outa the enemies.

Zelda Mii. You can have your Mii be link (optional).

NSMBWii,instead of a toad its your Mii

Mario Kart,done

A star wars game,your Mii is a jedi/sith

Seriously Nintendo, come on,think with your head not your wallet.

EA should make a Wii exclusive Sims but you use your Mii. If you kill them you have a choice to send them to the ER to save them or remove them from your system as death. That would be cool.
