If you don't have a strong desire to play one right now then the Holidays might be the best time to get one. There might be some special deals or bundles to entice people to buy one.

The best time to get one is when a game you want became available.

On the system? Nope. On the games? Check the weekly newspaper ads for temporary price drops on select games.

If you're interested in Zelda I would say June 19, 2011 is a great time to own a 3DS.

I think now is, it's not selling great at the moment and I've noticed a lot of places selling it cheap. By the time all of those great games come I expect the price to go back up.

If you are interested in any of the games that are out now or that coming out in the next few weeks then get it now.

I was going to wait until resident evil to get mine but then i decided to get it because i really wanted to play ss4.

I think now would be a good time. Ocarina of time is coming out on June 19th and that will hold you over till resident evil on June 28th. Then in August there is Shin Megami Tensei on the 23rd. In Sep. Is star fox. Then in the holiday season its looking boss MGS, Super Mario, Mario Kart, and Kid Icarus. Looking great for the 3DS.

Best time to buy it is now. Lots of great games currently available, lots of great games coming in the next six months, eShop, built-in games, web browser, frequent SpotPass updates... It's a great time to be a 3DS owner!

When there are actually games out for it that you want to play. Plus, Sony's pricing of the Vita will likely result in a premature price drop by Nintendo.

I wouldn't count on it. Nintendo seems pretty confident that they can continue selling the 3DS at its current price. Nintendo Says 3DS Price Is Fine, PS Vita At $249 Is No Concern

I think anybody who isn't unreasonably demanding could easily find at least half-a-dozen games they would enjoy out of the currently available titles.

I agree with this. Vita was announced with a much lower price then just about everyone guessed. Nintendo will enjoy several months in the market and then will be able to cut prices to steal a little of vita's thunder.

Half a dozen enjoyable games, yes? Half a dozen games that are worth full retail price, probably not.

So because I have specific tastes in gaming, that makes me "unreasonably demanding"? Mmkay.

When there are games out for it that makes you want one. Seriously, no one here can answer when you will think it will be a good time to get the 3DS. Personally, I'm waiting for OoT to see how that turns out, and when Super Mario 3DS, Paper Mario, Mario Kart, RE: Revelations and all that gold is out, I must have one.

Your games talk by themselves? That's creepy.

I believe I'll wait for their second variation of the 3DS like they did with the normal DS, just to get the kinks out of the way. I think that would be the best time for anyone who is a bit skeptical.
