When turning the Wii off...

The light on the wii will eather turn yellow/ornage, or if i hold the buttong down it will turn red..

What is the differnece?

orange is stand by and can still access the internet and get messages, while Red is completely off.

Red means the Wii is completly off.

Orange/yellow light means the Wii is on standby, so it can update itself if you got wifi. That's why you sometime see the Weather or Everybody Votes channel updated before you even login.
