As an entire library, which genre of game collection on the Wii U have you been the most impressed with, the first party exclusives games, or the third/second party exclusives? Arguably, the likes of Tropical Freeze, Mario Kart and Smash 4 have been amazing. But there has been a lot of great titles on the system not by Nintendo directly. Bayonetta 2, Hyrule Warriors and Shovel Knight, for instance.

I have found that third party and second party exclusives on the system have been a cut above even Nintendo's first party games. My opinion may change once super Mario Maker and Zelda U are released, but as it stands, second and third party exclusives have been my go-to games generally for the system so far. What are your thoughts?

My top 5 games consist of 1st party: Splatoon, Pikmin 3, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, and Smash. So yeah, easily first party.

I don't have a lot of 3rd party exclusives, but I do have a fair amount of 3rd party games and indies. My favorite is the Nintendo first party games and Bayonetta 2. All of those games really do a lot to show what is possible with the machine

I have enjoyed the third party exclusives a bunch also. Hyrule Warriors was awesome, Along with The Wonderful 101, Bayonetta 2, Lego Undercover, Mario & Sonic Olympic games, Shantae and the Pirates Curse, Sonic Allstar Racing Transformed, Tank! Tank! Tank! (demo was fun, but i heard the game is nothing special) Super Smash Bros and even Mario Kart 8 was helped by third party Bandi Namco.

Whats cool is that Nintendo helps on every single one. If i were to say which are the best, i think it would be close to a tie, but i would lean to Nintendo developed games more, i feel they are just to good and help a bunch in the other games also.

Well that makes two of us, lol. Most (so far) seem to disagree, but I think the third and second party Wii U exclusives have had a little more oomph to them.

Not much experience to go by here, but I still think I'll go with Nintendo's in-house work on this one. I can't imagine a game like Hyrule Warriors leaving quite the impression on me as Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, or even a Splatoon at the end of the day, even if it may very well be a worthwhile experience. I've played the Bayonetta 2 demo... and that's about as far as I'm willing to go with the game anytime soon; as someone that didn't love the first game, the Wii U sequel didn't excite me enough to delve in much deeper than the few battles I tolerated.

Take this all with a grain of salt, though. At this moment, I've yet to really be blown away by a Wii U game, but I suspect if it's going to happen, it's going to be from one of Nintendo's best efforts.

Bayonetta 2. Sure i haven't played it much since beating it. But damn, what an experience.
