It appears Wii owners will have a decent pedigree of FPS games later this year. It'll be interesting to see which Wii FPS comes out on top in terms of reviews, sales, and gamer impressions.

Black Ops: I'm interested because I really enjoyed Reflex and it's deep online play system, but I may just skip this one for the HD versions, considering there are 2 other decent Wii FPS--that are exclusives--available later this year.

Conduit 2: I liked the original, but felt it could've been better. The franchise has potential and it seems the sequel will be better than the original (I just don't see how the sequel will be worse, as it has just about everything that was lacking in the original)

GoldenEye: I like the fact that you can use the Classic Controller Pro or the Wii Remote/Nunchuck. Now Wii gamers can settle the debate of what's better: Dual analog stick controls or IR functionality!!!! IR lovers, lets show the dual analogers how it's done!

A sequel to one of the worst wii games I ever did play with company that has subpar talent, the best FPS title of all time now being ruined and an M rated game likely to involve more terrorism and killing the unarmed innocent civilians in attempt to continue to become more brutal and violent. Absolutely not.

Most likely none of them. If I want Black Ops, I can get it for PC or PS3, and the Conduit 2 looks terrible. As for Goldeneye, I am extremely skeptical. Everything or Nothing and Goldeneye 64 were the only James Bond games I have truly enjoyed. Furthermore, it's being designed by Eurocom, I have no reason to suspect they will create anything captivating seeing as how their track record is more than underwhelming.

1.I'm sure they'll improve a few things at least for Conduit.

2.If by ruin, you mean changing, yes they are ruining it. It can't possibly be better than the original, but it'll still be loads of fun I'm sure.

3..... yeah you have a great point about COD haha

Treyarch isn't Infinity Ward, I mean just because Infinity Ward makes a level where you have the option to terrorize citizens doesn't mean that Treyarch will do the same. Although, Black Ops will probably be more gory.

Most likely none of the above for me; its just that FPS don't really interest me all that much.

Goldeneye seem like a cash-in to me.

There's definitely some potential in Conduit 2 and Black Ops but definitely not enough to get me interested. :P

Both Treyarch and Infinity Ward are continuing to grow more gory, because it unfortunately is attracting gamers. Those same gamers being total hypocrites freekin dissing Activision with Guitar Hero and other crap the last couple years like no one is ever supporting and no one should ever support them... yet somehow Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 sold over 10 million copies. Someone out there has to be a hypocrite. Both companies are extending brutallity in what was once something quite good in its earliest couple Call of Duty titles, and for where it is now I don't like it one bit. I still love Activision, but I hate the direction Call of Duty has gone.

Actually most people who buy these games don't really pay attention to any of that... What you hear on GameSpot is not an indication of how most people feel about Call of Duty or Guitar Hero. In other words, the opinions of GameSpot users is not relevant to the entire Call of Duty consumer base. Most people don't think that they are being "milked" when they buy Guitar Hero and Call of Duty. They are completlely oblivious to that concept.

I can understand where people come from with Guitar Hero being milked. However, people look for ANYTHING to pissed off about Activision. Kurt Cobain becomes playable in GH5, Activision is totally hated on. Some dude's plan is to, "Take all the fun out of making video games" dozens of, "I will never support Activision ever again." "Activision is the new EA:" awful and corrupt and greedy." It's not just Guitar Hero, it's Activision, Activision, Activision as a whole by NUMEROUS comments over the years. They log off Gamespot and get back on to Modern Warfare multiplayer praising its multiplayer. Well, it was thanks to Activision the title was published now wasn't it? But no, that's not how it's seen, not one bit by potentially up to tens of thousands of gamers.

I think you're paying too much attention to the media. Anyway, Activision IS garbage... Not because of the gore or anything but because they constantly make short, recycled, under-developed, cash-in titles such as Guitar Hero or Call of Duty.

The media has several different views on this. MY view is more important because it's my view, and it's the correct view. I personally like Activision. Don't like it then fine. But don't buying Activision publishes. I haven't heard anything good about Activision anywhere from user comments, the Gamespot staff, in system wars. Nowhere. Yet how did the latest Call of Duty game get over 10 million copies. Huh? Where the Activision supporters all claiming they like Activision and thanking them for being responsible having mass produced this product. I'm not a fan of it, but Activision gets a ton of love, yet gets no love. Hypocrisy I tell you!

I think you completely missed my point... Most people who bought Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 probably do not even have ties with GameSpot. In fact, I don't think there is even close to 10 million users on GameSpot. The people who are buying their games aren't necessarily the same people boycotting them on these forums. I think most of these people don't care about Activision's business practices and are probably oblivious to them as well... All I know is that, Call of Duty is a part of pop culture. Most people... All they want is Call of Duty, simply because they like it. You are right that there are many hypocrites on GS, but that has nothing to do with the sales of Call of Duty games. It's a stupid comparison.

Not one person among thousands admits they're proud supporting Activision for being the company that they are, rather than just the games themselves but the actual company. I haven't seen it once on Gamespot and as you can tell, I've been searching. Thousands of users, zero positives for Activision. ...Just one person.

talk about ranting over nothing... and just to break your argument, i have nothing against activision. in fact, i can assure you the next X installments of guitar hero will be, at some point, on my shelf. i just don't like the way bobby kotick treats his employees. but what can i do, it's a dog eat dog world, and i like guitar hero.

[QUOTE="NaveedLife"]

[QUOTE="wiifan001"][QUOTE="UbiquitousAeon"]I think you completely missed my point...

It's not a stupid comparison. It's MY comparison, therefore it's valid. You obviously haven't been here long enough to know but I forgive you. If you're still reading this for whatever the crap reason, I want one person in Gamespot, now with over 10 million supporters of Guitar Hero 3, or those 10 million supporters of Modern Warfare 2, or those many supporters for some Marvel titles etc, one person in Gamespot where are thousands of users, ONE person to say, "I like Activision." Not one person among thousands admits they're proud supporting Activision for being the company that they are, rather than just the games themselves but the actual company. I haven't seen it once on Gamespot and as you can tell, I've been searching. Thousands of users, zero positives for Activision. ...Just one person.

Wow, you really have a....unique way about you, you know that? BTW when I made that Donkey Kong thread and you dissed me for wanting it on the Wii, well looks like everyone else did aswell, including Nintendo ;)

All right first off, I was not against a Donkey Kong Platformer for the Wii. Not against it. My point was you failed to mention Donkey Kong PLATFORMER. You asked where Donkey Kong was for Wii. I gave the racing game. Not the Play Control, the racing game exclusively for Wii. Donkey Kong Barrel Blast. But no, it has to be platformer. Hearing for years since 2007, "Is Donkey Kong dead? Where's Donkey Kong?" I point out Barrel Blast every time. No one took that answer. Wai-Hold on here! I did not diss you for wanting DK on the Wii. I just owned you when I presented to you Barrel Blast on the Wii. You just refused to admit that I PWND you. Not dissing Retro, not dissing NIntendo, not dissing DK, not dissing the Wii, not dissing the platformer, not dissing the dissing. I'm all for it a DK platformer but I'm aware that DK was already in the house a long time ago for our current system. Right now more than anything you just envy my excessive use of "diss"

^^^Ugh back to topic people.

I mean with three decent FPS titles coming out later this year...you can't go wrong with all three. Just a matter of which one will be better.

Conduit 2 will have optional motion plus support not only for IR tracking but also melee weapons. If if you don't wan't to gesture with melee weapons, you can always button map it. So we know controls, just like the original, will be be tight if not better--with even more options.

So there's also more variety in gameplay over the original when you factor in: melee weapons, new announced weapons, mounted guns, and even sprinting!

Level design will be better as well, providing you with stacked levels and branching points--giving you more than one route to finish a level. The levels will be bigger as well. Thus the whole game will not be a corridor shooter.

The Headbanger headset is a nice addition over WiiSpeak--it's more private (in that everyone in your home can't hear what other players are saying...lol) and better sound quality (no more annoying echoes). I just hope that if people decide to keep their WiiSpeak (the three people who have it lol), will be able to speak to those who have the Headbanger headset.

HVS said they have amped up the security and bug fixes of the online mode. The original was plagued with hacks and glitches (opponents going through walls, or disappearing from in front of you) well you should see very little if any of that in Conduit 2 (of course no online game is full proof).

There are other things I'm still trying to find out more about are: art direction (few levels have been shown thus far) and story. So far from what I've seen the art direction is better than certain levels of the original, but like I said, I need to see more to determine if the art design is drastically or marginally better. Nonetheless, this is already better than the original and enough to grant ME purchase!

LOL I forgot that the new Ghost Recon is coming to the Wii later this year also. It might be crap anyway, as it's by Ubisoft.

Probably getting all of them. I'm also going to play them with the M rated gun peripheral lol. Does anybody know if Medal of honor is coming to the wii? I enjoyed heroes 2 so I was just wondering.

Uhmm if it hasn't been announced at this point then probably not. Heroes 2 set a standard for Wii FPS in terms of controls/customization. I can't believe Im saying this but the Wii is being saturated with FPS titles later this year, an unannounced fifth one is just too much.

Depends. If Goldeneye is a remake of the Nintendo 64 game (which I already own), then none of them.

It's not an exact remake per say. It has: updated graphics, controls, Daniel Craig instead of Pierse Brosnan, a few new game modes in multiplayer--including online. Obviously the story is the same, since it's based off of the GoldenEye film. There were more parts added to some levels and maybe some completely new levels as well.

If reviews for Conduit 2 are good, then that. Otherwise its Black Ops. Heck, I'll probably get both.

Depends. Call of Duty: Black Ops is probably the one I'm most interested in, but it remains to be seen how the Wii version compares to the versions on the other consoles. Goldeneye 007 I'll need some convincing about, as I haven't seen enough to make a decision. Conduit 2... HVS will really need to sell me on that one after the first one. I care more about single-player than multiplayer, and frankly I felt that The Conduit had quite possibly the worst single-player FPS experience I've ever played.

I will buy Conduit 2 and my brother is going to buy Goldeneye.

We both don't like Call of Duty.

None of them. GoldenEye looks bad from the trailers. Treyarch Call of Duty games are always bad. Conduit 1 was very generic. Unless they do something to make 2 stand out, no.

Those games don't even come out until next year and Homefront is meh. Enjoy your same ol' HD games.

[QUOTE="wiifan001"]A sequel to one of the worst wii games I ever did play with company that has subpar talent, the best FPS title of all time now being ruined and an M rated game likely to involve more terrorism and killing the unarmed innocent civilians in attempt to continue to become more brutal and violent. Absolutely not.

And how do you know that was just an attempt to become more violent? Did it ever occur to you it was simply to add a more dramatic feel to the game and storyline?

@topic: if I could only choose one, CoD Black Ops since it's from a great series by a great developer and I know I'll sink a crapload more hours into the addictive online.

In regards to the Wii, they usually make crap. Red Steel 2 is an exception, but it was only ok (short adventure, dumb story, and no online....ewwww).

If that's the case, then I'll need to rent it first to see if those changes are enough to justify a purchase, especially since (as previously mentioned) I already own the N64 version.

Red Steel 2 wasn't very good.
