I don't know about you... but I want ADVANCED WARS.... not crappy Battalion Wars on Wii/GC.imperial_agent
do explain why BW is crappy
I'm guessing you want the turn based strategy of Advance Wars, I can see where your coming from its an amazing series. But I'm happy with it it staying on handheld form at the moment and there's nothing stopping third parties try something of their own. A Military Madness remake would be sweet.
I'm kinda biased though, even though I never wanted the original, BWii is my most wanted Wii game by far. Â
He's going to be really pissed. An hour and a half to play one battle that you may not win no thanks. I like the action/RTS hybrid style of BWii. It keeps the pace fast and exciting whilst keeping a good level of tactics. If your really into turn based stratergy there is a Fire emblem game coming out ont he Wii.
How can we be sick of what we have yet to recieve. On top of this, BWii is going to have online play. Besides, just because Batallion Wars is released doesn't mean Nintendo can't develop an Advance Wars for the Wii.
Desire Advance Wars for Wii, but there's no reason to hate Batallion Wars at the same time.
Have you even played the original Batallion Wars. After ignoring it on the Cube I rented it a couple of weeks ago and found it surprisingly fun and addictive. As a player of both Batallion Wars and Advance Wars I found it really captured the spirit of Advance Wars. Â

Yes, I would like to know to...
I loved Battalion Wars.Haven't you heard? 2D is complelty inferior to 3D, everything has to be 3D. Even if the 2D to 3D transition doesn't work, it's best to totally revamp the game until it isn't even related to it's original from just to make it 3D and have it similar to most other games to please the gaming fans.Dencore
lol, I agree there does need to me some good 2d games once and a while, which is one reason I loved what paper mario was doing with 2d plus bringing back side scrolling platiformers.
I don't know about you... but I want ADVANCED WARS.... not crappy Battalion Wars on Wii/GC.imperial_agentwow I think intelligent systems and kuju may come and shoot you in the head
intelligent systems, altho known for their great turn based strategy games fire emblem and advance wars, allready have made various veraions of both. both of which fit hand helds, personally I don't like the idea of turn based on a home console
but anyway advance wars is brilliant, battalion wars also was brilliant
the word wars is about the biggest relationsship they have to eachother... I know they started off as one, but they were quickly changed. Seperate games, seperate ideas
battalion wars got high reviews even with it's many flaws, ie. no multiplayer in a multiplayer environment
so no, I don't want advance wars over battalion wars, since I can allready play advance wars on my DS and I do!
I have no quam with this thread except for the fact you called it "crappy battalion wars" when you clearly could have said it a more civil way

Most gamers are so pathetic these days, first the death of 2D, then the death of co-op, then the death of levels, then the death of linearity, then the death of games where you don't use guns, and now what is this the death of the single player *yes I've heard this many times on these forums*?
*sign* I liked it oh so much better when the Japanese controlled the market :)
Anyway if you're a fan of side-scorlling JRPG's go to amazon.com and buy "Odin Sphere" now, it's supreme! :)

I did one better. Battalion Wars is more fast paced and has a great original genre of Action/strategy hybrid. It with Wii controls will make it awesome. Advance wars with Wii controls, all you'd do is move from box to box with the pointer. Doesn't sound nearly as fun as controlling and managing your units in real-time with motion controls. Â

I just hope it isn't so fast it doesn't give you much time to think and plan two steps ahead, like Strikers

No, it's not that fast, lol. But it's faster than turn-based for sure.IÂ did one better. Battalion Wars is more fast paced and has a great original genre of Action/strategy hybrid. Advance Wars is very similar to Fire Emblem. Fire Emblem came out on the GBA but it also ended up on the GameCube and was generally considered to be an excellent game. Advance Wars on the Wii could produce similar quality.Â
And I will also say that I've played both Advance Wars and BW. I like both of them and wouldn't say that AW is slow paced. It really depends on how you play it.
If you're so tired of Battilion Wars, why not buy Fire Emblem for the Wii? It's the same type of game, only with a fantasy setting instead of the psuedo futuristic military setting. Also, the game is called Famicom Wars on consoles, so i believe you are really looking for Wii Wars, not Advance Wars:Wii Edition.
Knowing Nintendo, they'd probably call it that too.Â

You summed it up well and I also prefer handheld turn based games.
last one started out slow but before long became very very frantic, and quite diffecult in general, but don't worry it's the good sort of diffecult, like ninja gaiden (because it's diffecult it makes you WANT to beat it)I just hope it isn't so fast it doesn't give you much time to think and plan two steps ahead, like Strikers
