i've had NES, SNES, GB, N64, GBA, Gamecube, and Wii i used to only buy nintendo consoles until i got extremely bored while no games came out for the gamecube so i got an xbox. i currently have a 360 and wii, but mostly play 360.
I've owned NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Gameboy, Gameboy Color, and both flavors of DS. I've only been able to ever purchase one console per generation and I've decided that Nintendo was the best choice for my style of game. It's always come down to a few things early on it was gameplay and affordability, and in the last few years I've added family friendly to the list since I now have kids and Nintendo just fits the bill. I do have my selection of games that now require the parental controls to be utilized, but I'd say 50-60% of my games are now rated E, or E10. 40% are T or M (these two types need my parental controls). I have had in my house Xbox, PSOne, PS2, Genesis, Dreamcast, but I didn't purchase those myself.
I think you're more likely to find people who've owned just Nintendo consoles rather than anything else. it's been around longer and more people have grown up with Nintendo and REALLY like their consoles. With younger people you could find someone who's owned just Sony or just Microsoft. Quite a few will have multiple systems and a lot of people are going to have just one. People who can only afford one system and a game every once in a while and things like that.
I'm gonna go ahead and say no one has ever owned ONLY a Nintendo system. Most of you are probobly posting on your computers, which probobly have Windows as an operating system. Windows is owned by *gasp* Microsoft, so it is technically impossible to have only owned all Nintendo systems. Consoles on the other hand, only include the NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, and Wii; not the Gameboy, Gameboy Color, Gameboy Pocket, GBA, or DS, as those are handhelds, not consoles.
I only owned Nintendo systems until this generation. I've owned: NES Gameboy SNES N64 Gamecube GBA DS This gen I bought an Xbox360 and I never, ever use it. It just doesn't do it for me. I'm still playing Gamecube games and I would rather play them than new 360 games. Call me crazy but it's true. There's just something about playing games on a Nintendo system. It's just better. Even multi-plat titles.

I can't say I have owned just a Nintendo system (having owned Mega Drive, Dreamcast, Xbox 360)Â but it is the system I look forward to the most and the one with the best exclusives.

Online gaming bores me and I have no interest in it. That's why I don't care about the fact that the Wii doesn't have online gaming up and running yet. I never take my DS online. Online gaming is a waste of time in my opinion.

Maybe like me he doesn't like online gaming that much, although I do have xbox live (gold membership) and own top games like gears, GRAW, Call of Duty, PGR etc... i never really use live for playing games online that much and the same goes for my PC (unless its command and conquer) and DS.
I just don't really understand the big deal about online gaming (unless its command and conquer).

Nintendo isn't the only console I've ever owned, but I've owned every one of them excluding the Virtual Boy. I owned an NES, Game Boy, SNES, Game Boy Pocket, N64, Game Boy Color, Gamecube, Game Boy Advanced, Game Boy Advanced SP, DS, DS Lite, and now a Wii. Do Super Game Boy and Game Boy Player count?
Other systems I've owned are Sega Genesis, Game Gear, Game.com(hah), Dreamcast, and Xbox 360.

thats ridiculous, no body is that much of a fan-boy surely!!!!! I own every nintendo console, but would not only play Nintendo- as we well know they are a bit lazy when it comes to releases and dates and also third party support. No way - in answer to your question that would be to deny my own gaming nature! :)

I own a Gameboy, Gameboy Advance, DS, N64, GC, and Wii. It's not that I wouldn't play Microsoft or Sony games, I don't have enough money to get into more than one console. Since I have a PC, I sort of have a Microsoft console, and the ability to play a large fraction of games that appear on the Xbox and PS.
Ive owned every Nintendo console since my NES right up to my Wii and DS. I think its strange to go that long without at least trying another console. I owned a PS2 for a year, mainly for Final Fantasy games, an Xbox360 for a few months, mainly for online shooter and a pc for MMO's and Counter Strike. All got a bit dull and ive all ways gone back to Nintendo, and as per usual the Wii is just perfect for me.
It was the NEW, the Original Gameboy, to SNES then N64, after that my brother bought PS1, then PS2, then came the Gamecube, then I got one for myself, after thatwas the DS Phat and now The Wii.

I had an NES the year it released, a SNES for XMAS the year it came out, an N64 in college, a GameCube about mid-cycle and a Wii shortly after release. I also had an original gray gameboy back in the day. The only non-Nintendo console I have is a PS2 that was given to me last year along with the only game I own for that system: Mercenaries. Since high school I have been fundamentally and primarily a PC gamer and Nintendo is all the console I really need. I use the console primarily for multi-player party games and do all my solo-ing on PC. (Although I did spend a good chunk of a summer over at a friend's place while he was at work playing Vice City on his PS2.)
I'm a nintendo fan from the start. I've had Gameboy (blk/white, color, and sp), NES, SNES, N64, GC, Wii. I recently bought a ps3 but i don't feel it was worth the $. I'm hoping it'll pick up in terms of game variety which i'm sure it will.
DS lite and GCN are the only systems i have owned the rest are my older brother's consols. i am 17 and so i never had any money earlier on to get the older systems for my own. they were for us kids for christmas and birth days. All of my nintendo systems in my house right now though include GBA,GBC, GB, NES, SNES, N64, GCN, and DS lite
ive owned pretty much every nintendo console every except for virtual boy at some point...my old GB broke and I got rid of my GB Pocket....switched DS to DS Lite...and got rid of GC for Wii (since Wii plays GC games)....but in terms of owning only Nintendo systems? ruined that streak over a decade and a half ago with a Sega Genesis :P
