Who says the Wii is for kiddies?

The point I was making is that M$ won't let some people who can legally buy M rated games download a freaking demo (17 year-olds to be specific). With the Wii, you don't have to deal with it. And yes I do realize that it is mostly because there are no M rated VC games...

Ya know, I'm sick of people knocking the Wii saying it's for little kids. I own all three systems, and can tell you that I get just as much "adult entertainment" from my Wii as I do my PS3 or 360. Granted, the games I own for the Wii are all less violent, that doesnt mean it's for kids. Take Mario Galaxy for example. Sure, it's bright, bubbly, and wholesome, but adults can enjoy it too. It's not dumbed-down platformer for kids, it's just a really great platformer. Does it need violence to be for adults? Mario isnt teaching the ABC's, he's trying to save a freaking princess.

Just because Nintendo is kid freindly doesnt mean it's for kids only. What games were you playing growing up? Most people will recall the likes of Mario or Metriod. Do you really think a 7 year old needs to be playing Grand Theft Auto for video game entertainment, or classic, wholesome Mario that alot of us 20+ year old gamers grew up on? Bottom line, kids need Mario just as much as adults need Call of Duty 4. But like I said, just because Nintendo is kid freindly doesnt mean it's for kids only. Not to mention, there are quite a mature titles on the Wii anyway, like RE:UC or NMH.

Alright, so what if the Wii doesnt have the most powerhouse graphics of any system? Who cares? Last gen graphics are still great to look at. Who would go back and play any of the GTA franchises from last gen and claim it makes their eyes hurt? The Wii has great graphics, it's the 3rd party devs who choose not to utilize 'em and end up rushing a crap game that make crap graphics. I'm over the graphics thing anyway, granted, I'm still trying to pick my tongue off the floor from Uncharted Drake's Fortune, but at the same time, I'm enjoying my very first Zelda experince since the NES days just as much, without powerhouse graphics. It just drives me crazy that people want to call the Wii a fad, a weak system, a kiddy system. It's a great system, the nunchuck and Wiimote are sleek, the Wii itsself is sleek. Maybe if the entire system was black it would be taken more serious by hardcore gamers... ? I dunno, but to me the Wii isnt just cute, it's simply bad a$$.

well I think that I see a topic like that in the DS's forum months ago about people complaining about pokemons games... but is most interes in the wii case, the thing is that nintendo is making games for casual gamers, that is the cause that and the low price is mostly the cause of the higest selling... maybe month ago (or a year) all the complains about the wii childist games were justified since the "hardcore point of view" (honestly I hate the terms hardcore and casual gamers) for that phylosiphy the onlys games that a xbox/ps fanboy would like then could be ZTP & RE4.... but now is a diferent history, the library of wii games has grow vastly and now we have games like NMH, MP3, MG... personaly I'm playing rigth now fire emblem and is one of the mos challenging games that I played ever...

about the marketing thing... I`was tired of seeing advertisement of mario party ds in MTV... I know I know this is a wii forum but the thing is that I saw the advertisement in other chanell besides CN or nickelodeon beside....

Well over 90% of all Wii owners are gamers (who owned a console last gen)

While Nintendo is expanding the market in home console sales it's far from being even a factor.

I support nintendo and I've got this ignorant friend who hates every game i own or even like, we are both 13 and he gets excited about GTA 4 and moans when it was delayed by a month or something- I waited over a year for twilight princess, I might have to wait months for ssbb but i dont moan!

Also i was saying to him how it is bad you have to pay to go online for 360, but wii online is free and he all he could say is 'who cares wii is for babies anyway'

I must agree though, that alot of third parties have made rubbish games for but that is only cause they make loads of money from gullible people who buy bad movie games.

The thing is the wii is meant for an all new type of games altogether and actually I think nintendo are pretty brave to take the first step into the 'new generation'

I like 360 quite alot but ive always had nintendo so im staying with em, I don't like sony much because the xbox has the same stuff and more and i hate how you need a multi tap to play 4player.

The wii has loadsa games that are mature like the amazing red steel, metroid prime 3 and twilight princess is not kiddy in my opinion

no your not getting my point, the very lack of a mic on the wii shows nintendo thinks that they need to protect their child audience since its a whole lot bigger than the 360 and ps3's, you cant even see your opponents name in ssbb!

Because like i said all forms of video games no matter what console are heavily targeted towards kids, its not just the Wii.

I think one of the main problems are with the retailers themselves, like when I go to gamestop they only have the kiddie games on display so I have to actually ask them if they have the game that I want, some of these games are medal of honor, no more heroes, manhunt 2, metroid prime 3, etc.nintendog66

thats what i said earlier, when i went to gamestop today NHM was at the bottom of the rack while some hannah montannah, bratz and games like these were front and center.
