Who in their right mind wouldnt be getting this? :P Seriously though this will probably be one of my favorite games this gen :).
[QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]Some more ill-advised responses from Jaysonguy...this kid couldn't be more clueless. I'm getting the game!! I know that the value of the game will stay high like many of the Wii exclusives, so I have no problem buying it on release date. I was debating what to get first, Goldeneye, Black Ops, Epic Mickey, Donkey Kong, or NBA Jam. I don't want to wait for Epic Mickey and I think Donkey Kong might be the best out of all those games. Also, I think Donkey Kong will certainly hold it's value more than any of the other games. Not worth it on release
The game is going to drop fast this holiday season so wait a week and get it cheaper
Metroid Other M for 19 bucks should have taught everyone how this holiday season is going to go

Completely agree! DKCR will be the best ;). I couldnt handle the flaws in Goldeneyes multiplayer so i had to sell it on ebay :(.
I am tomorrow! I'll be the first to get it at my Gamestop, which is not that hard a task to do where I'm from.
I'm buying it on Sundway when it's available with the free banana pouch at gamestop.

Well I thought it was kinda cool...
I might pre-order mine tonight on Gamestop.com to get the banana. I think its neat and all. I doubt I will ever use it, but hey why not have it :P.
Are you kidding me? You think DK Country Returns is going to be cheap in a month? Where are you getting your advice?

People were saying the same thing about Metroid Other M and 20 bucks later tons of people have a copy
Amazon has dropped the price twice just this week on Donkey Kong
With the holidays coming up it'll be easy to snag for 60% of it's price in a week

You're wrong on this one. It's all over tv. Conan and Colbert talked about it, Jimmy Fallon played it, freaking Ellen gave it away to the crowd. It reaches an audience that Metroid never could, and unlike Metroid people haven't had to wait like a decade for another game. It's going to sell this holiday at full price for sure.I pr-ordered it on Amazon last night :). Wished I have it a bit earlier, but saving 8 bucks when I already have games to play and tons of work to do, is probably a smart idea.
I'm will only buy a Donkey Kong game when one comes out that IS NOT a sidescroller.
What dissapoints me the most is that Retro did this. They raised my expectations for game with Metroid Prime and then diminished them with this.
What were they thinking, if you make a modern Donkey Kong game, it damn well better resemble the near flawless Donkey Kong 64, one of the best 3D platformers of all time.
No, don't talk until you've played it, DCKR is every bit up to the standards of Retro.I'm will only buy a Donkey Kong game when one comes out that IS NOT a sidescroller.

I prefer DK as a side scroller, at least compared to DK64. I am not saying they couldnt make an amazing 3D one, but DKC1, 2, and 3 are brilliant and this looks to be no exception, with Retro's quality work at hand.

The real reason why 2D was chosen is actually because it's more appealing to the 'casual' crowd, sells alot more.
Btw snover, there's nothing wrong with 2D gameplay. It's harder to amaze and innovate as with SMG, yes, but it's still damn good.
