why all the hating on Nintendo due to the DSI XL release

I am constantly going on game sites to read up on all the news and I am constantly seeing posts and articles about people being so mad that nintendo is releasing the dsi xl. Come on people they are not forcing you to buy it. If you don't want it don't buy it. Like they said the 3ds will be out in about a year or so, so just wait. Nintendo knows exactly what they are doing they are one of the longest running video game companies around. I think it is great that they are constantly upgrading and introducing new products to us consumers. They give you so many choices on what you want to buy.

I am very much looking forward to the bigger screens and overall bigger body on the dsi xl.

This. It's pretty much that people are annoyed that something newer and/or better is released within a short time span of when they bought their console/portable (or whatever it may be) and feel that the company screwed them over. I can understand why some people might get mad, but in the end it's like you said, they're not forcing you to buy it so there's really no need to get all upset.

I haven't seen any "hate" towards the DSi XL.

But it would be silly to ignore the rightful frustration that many people share when they buy a DS and then soon after the DS light comes out...then they go out of their way to keep up with the latest incarnation by purchasing the DSi...but then just a few weeks later the DSi XL comes out...not only that but Nintendo has already announced their next handheld console.

Yes is true. I read a lot of bad comments about the DSi XL and many people bashing it without not even see it. I'm an older gamer and I'm going to get it but many of my neighbors kids and teens are going to get it too, is a question of taste. If you want it buy it, but it you don't want it, don't put the people who are going to get it down. I remember the first video game I played when I was young, Coleco Vision I was10. Not matter how older I'm I still playing video games because is something I really like to do. I can't devote a lot of time to it, but I play one or two hours daily, specially before bedtime.

I dont see why there needs to be hate for it. If it wasnt for the 3DS and the price I would pick up a DSI XL launch day. For me, its not hating more than it is "meh"

I am playing Pokemon Heart Gold on it right now and man I love the screens, expescially on Spirit Tracks, it gives me a whole new gaming experience. There is no need to hate guys, we are all fans of the DS systems otherwise we would not be posting in this forum.

Im not really mad. I just am not gonna get one. Im gonna get a normal DSi, due to my DS Lite being broke.

For those put of by the XL's price, I just came from Game Stop and they said that soon they will have used ones.....and I THINK they said about $149 for it.

Imagine how mad you would be if you bought the dsi xl then a week later they announce the 3DS, then most people would think, "rats, I just dropped all of this money on a DSi XL and now there's another new model." It's the fact that no one wants to buy their hardware just to learn there's a newer version they could've gotten for close to the same price a little while later.

Sharp, which is likely providing the 3d panels, says it will be up to 6 months before they're ready to mass produce the panels, which puts us up to October. Then you have to ask who will likely get the first ones, Japan or the States.....and honestly, it's probably Japan, which puts it here in the States at the earliest, one year from now. Add to that the fact that a 3DS screen, according to Sharp, will be smaller than even the DS Lite screen, and there's reason to believe that the 3DS will supplement rather than replace the XL.

That doesn't mean the user can't criticize it. Perhaps those are reasons why the user is not buying it.
