Just to clear some things up for you. Eurocom made the PLAYSTATION 2 version of Quantum of Solace, which also happens to be the highest scoring version, while Beenox made the the Wii version, so I dont know how you can blame Eurocom for that, and looking at Eurocom's Track record they have made some really good bond games and some really good games outside of licensed products (something that HVS still cant do). Sphinx and the cursed Mummy> Everything HVS has ever made. gamefan67

I misread that then, but the PS2 version of Quantum of Solace still exceeds The Conduit by only a few percent in terms of overall score. Eurocom has lots of experience with developing Bond games, but still none of them had anywhere near the impact of Goldeneye 007. What I'm wondering is why Goldeneye Wii's expectations are based off the original Goldeneye rather than Eurocom's previous Bond efforts. I've heard a lot of people say'it's Goldeneye!', but it's not, it's another Bond game made by Eurocom that happens to resemble the original Goldeneye because it is used as inspiration.

I'm curious to see Conduit 2. I don't expect it to be the pinnacle of FPS (but what can you expect on the Wii?), but The Conduit wasn't that bad as people made it out to be, and I could already see the potential in that game. Taking a look at Conduit 2's features, it seems to become a considerable improvement.

Goldeneye Wii could be interesting, but I fear it will just be another lackluster CoD clone, and I don't even like CoD to begin with.

The original Goldeneye was amazing

The original Conduit was NOT amazing

Goldeneye Wii is a new game made by people who had absolutely nothing to do with the first game. Its developers, Eurocom, have released 3 Bond games already, the last of which (Quantum of Solace) scored 54/100 on average on the Wii. If anything, that is the game we should be going by, not the original Goldeneye game which was made by infinitely more talented developers 13 years ago.

Quantum of Solace for PS2 only received 4 critic reviews on Metacritic where as Conduit got 79 critic reviews. That's why Quantum of Solace PS2 received a higher average it didn't have too many publication to review it--which is understandable considering what generation we're in. So that is not fair to compare the two. HVS has more experience with the Wii over Eurocom when it comes to a FPS and they have taken time to create an engine specifically for the Wii. That's alot more than what Eurocom has done for the Wii thus far. Conduit 2 will also have more content features, and innovative gameplay over what GoldenEye Wii will have. I already created a thread doing a comparison of the two. I'm not knocking Eurocom, as I do plan to get Goldeneye and Conduit 2.

Because people hate High Voltage. Even though they're actually putting out more effort than ever before with Conduit 2.

I've never heard anyone comment on how much "effort" a developer is expending, except HVS. Are they that bad that rather than talking about their results, one has to talk about how much "effort" they're putting into their project? :P

I'd rather try a game like Goldeneye, even if it's not being made by RARE, than try any more garbage put out by High Voltage.

Their effort is going to waste. They put, what seems like, a ton of effort into the first game and that didn't really help that much.

Well thats because the effort went into the engine more than the game. This time around the effort is going into the game as the engine is already there. I'm not going to say Conduit 2 is going to be any good, but to write it off based on the original is just the reaction of people who are trying to find reason not to buy something because there is a chance it may well be disapointing. Much like anything else they might buy.

The other thing confusing about that argument of "who cares if they're bad, they're trying" is that High Voltage pushes unfinished software out the door so really they work hard how? lol

Good thing no one made that argument with Tournament of Legends :P

You bring up a good point. Why do people have more faith in a product that has been lost for years, is heavily linear with micromanaged gameplay, is technologically inferior, and is a COD clone to a full fatured game that shows quite a bit of promise? Goldeneye would rock with wide open gameplay, but that's not what we're getting. Online is way too dated as well (come on, 8 player online? No voice chat? No co-op?).

I don't understand either really... I get hype for something like Donkey Kong being made by Retro: big sequel, to a great series, by great devs. Whereas hype for fairly random games made by HVS and Eurocom seem odd... Though at least Eurocom made Nightfire, that was a good Bond game :)

So you do understand why people are more excited for Goldeneye then :P. HVS made crap, Eurcom made a solid FPS bond (second best bond IMO and inarguably the second best FPS bond), and now they are building off a solid game structure. I don't understand why you would be more excited for Conduit 2.
