add the stupid figurine collecting mode and remove the animated backgrounds for ssf4 3D? -_- ...

By the way, I have a question of how software updates work. Can developers push to you updates for their games? For example if Capcom felt like you know... adding in the animated backgrounds :)

Why didn't Capcom make Monster Hunter Portable 3rd for the 3DS instead of SSF4? That would have been awwwwwesome.

If the backgrounds weren't static(not animated) it would distract your eye from the 3D effect rendering it pointless. It's static for a reason.

They probably took out the animated backgrounds because it wouldn't run smoothly with all that going on. And I don't think 3DS games can be updated like PS3 and 360 games quite yet.

Well I don't see how it could distract. I mean, what about games that are actually in full 3D?

I'm guessing it's a technical issue. Too early at this stage to get the best out of the hardware. I think their top priority was to just get the game running.

I doubt its a storage issue. Especially when you consider the size of Ridge Racer and other upcoming 3DS games. I'd say the game was developed to meet the console launch and so sacrifces were made to speed up development.. That or the engine wasn't fine tuned enough to implement such a feature. Or perhaps they didn't feel they could make a visually attractive game with the technical demans of a more dynamic background. Something like that...

I don't care if the backgrounds are animated or not, but if not, PLEASE take the people/animals out so it doesn't look like you're battling in front of a bunch of card board cut-outs. :|

Holy Jeez. Did any of you ever actually PLAY Street Fighter 2? The background characters have always been cardboard cutouts- deal with it, it won't kill you.

So many people want a Monster Hunter for the 3DS. Capcom will hopefully catch on.

I have read a lot of posts from people who have said that they are no good at SSFIV and I think I am beginning to understand why. You are all looking at the background instead of watching the actual fight.

actually, I am totally new to the street fighter series. I'm very confident in my virtua fighter 5 and ssbb abilities however. I actually know Lei-Fei's entire move list by heart and beat the highest difficulty cpu 95% of the time. I've clocked 10 hours in ssf4 and am already achieving about a 50% win rate against the hardest difficulty with Juri. What's wrong with having an issue with the aesthetics of a game? Especially one I'm passionate about

The fact that SSFIV runs at 60fps with the graphics it is pushing is impressive. I'll take functionality with some graphical goodies over animated back grounds any day. Even with 3D on it still pushes graphics on par with the PSP AND 30fps.

funny thing about that. Can anyone notice a framerate difference between 3d and no 3d? I honestly cant. The graphics as a whole look a lot smoother with the 3d off, where as the 3d gives a sharp pronounced look. Other than that, I can't notice a change in framerate

SSFIV doesn't even come close to using the 3DS's full capabilities, even with 3D on. Capcom themselves have said that their Resident Evil games aren't even close to maxing out the 3DSs power.
