I thought it looked really unique and put a whole new spin on something I've been doing most of my life. I really liked the fact that Nintendo seemed to be putting gameplay above having the prettiest or most lifelike looking graphics. Honestly, it just looked plain fun, and was priced reasonably.
But I still wasn't 100% sure if I wanted to spend the money on one just yet. What was the real deal-breaker was that I actually found one. My decision had come down to "Okay, I've got some extra cash, so I'm going to go check a couple stores for a Wii today. If I see one, I'll probably buy it. If not, I'm not going to worry about it until later in the year." Of course, being the beginning of February I was certain I wouldn't find any, but when I walked into the second store and saw one sitting there, I just HAD to have it.
Haven't regretted my purchase for one second since.
I bought my Wii for two reasons..... First was the motion sensing, this is a whole new step to gaming as we know it. Second, I've been a pretty loyal Nintendo fan since day 1, their games are fun and they're of good quality as well.spazmaticmof0Agreed, what he said
Motion sensing, first party titles (Metroid, Mario, Zelda) and multiplayer (Mario parties, Monkey Ball etc.). And of course Smash Bros.
I have a 360 and a Wii, between the two I've found a great balance. The Wii will pick up and I'm hoping the 360 will bring me something other than shooters. But, I'm happy with both.
I got it for the first party software which is the same reason I got all of my Nintendo consoles, and the situation at the moment with games being slow to appear is nothing new as the GC and N64 were both just as bad or worse.Â
I plan on getting an HD console eventually but neither of them appeal to more more than the other at the moment which considering what an investment they are I can wait until one is screaming out for me to buy it.
Agreed 100%Motion sensing, first party titles (Metroid, Mario, Zelda) and multiplayer (Mario parties, Monkey Ball etc.). And of course Smash Bros.
