Why did you go with the Wii? (poll)

peronally, i'd have to say all or most of the above

I got it as a christmas gift about 2 years ago. :)

It's the only next gen console offered this gen so I needed it first

For me it was the unique games and old favs.

Motion controls so i was always going to end up disappointed.

Yeah, I've been pretty much head injury free lately so I avoid that place lol

I just saw that everyone was doing the same old same old as far as hardware and the Wii was the only one willing to do something new.

Now I didn't know Nintendo would bail on it's users with software by releasing the Gamecube library over again with price hikes but as far as hardware goes they're the ones who offered a next gen system and I needed to own it in my house and look at it daily.

I'm a old school Nintendo fan and I love their games!

One reason, Brawl. SSBB is a very very good game but I hate it for that. I made a list of good games for both the 360 and Wii and the Wii was very outnumbered but then the Brawl review came out and I had to get it. Buying my Wii is the biggest mistake I've ever made.

First off, I'm aloyal Ninty consumer. So, that reason helped a lot.

Second off, I had watched the reviews for it for 5-6 months to make sure. Because, I initially saidI was through with Nintendo.

Third off, I knew that my family would enjoy it. They wouldn't enjoy it as much as me, but that's not important. :P

So, end result? I bought a Wii around my wife's B-day and played off as a gift for her (a surprise gift, not the main gift). Who wins with that situation? I bet you can guess, lol. :D

Nintendo has all the best franchises.

I really enjoyed the GC and I like the consistent quality of Zelda and Mario games. Also, the fact their hardware is reliable and their excellent customer service is a plus. Also, their backward compatibility is second to none. I love the GC gameboy player and the games in animal crossing. The Wii GC BC is excellent and shows great care. Plus, I love how the GB connected to the GC and I hope the DS connects to the Wii soon

The motion controls really did it for me because i hadn't owned a gamecube, but seeing trailers for excite truck and red steel really pumped me up being able to point the wiimote at the tv like a gun gangsta style. Sadly, those games didn't live up to the hype. Oh well, at least I put like 60 hours into twilight princess andprobably 30into mario galaxy.

but for me I love the games so I stick with Nintendo. I eventually got a 360 down the line but the N's console will always be bought first each generation there is for me.

I didnt get one, but my brother did. But honestly, I just cant get into it....

The games: I love all the Metroid and Zelda games, and Nintendo is the only place to get them. (DS over PSP just for Advance Wars alone).

My Wii was a Christmas gift from my mom. She took pity on me after what happened during launch day.

I've had a Nintendo console in my house since I was 4 starting with the NES. Naturally I wanted the Wii. Glad I bought it, too.

to have access to the best and biggiest libraries the controls none of this hd garbage where if you play on sds it will look the same! dead rising was so bad i had to buy a hd tv to play it lol

im with nintendo since the early 90s - the answer would be because i like the games , had a original Gameboy , then SNES , then N64 , skipped GC, now have a Wii

To get my wife gaming with the Wii-mote as she hates current joypads and thumb stick type controllers.

I got mine because I couldn't get a ps3 at launch. It was the best thing that could've happened.

that... I got it 1st bc it was cheaper and the ps3 library did not had anything at lauch that i was killling for. The ps3 games that I wanted were coming 2008 and 2009, e.g SH, RE5, Dead Space...... but I have always had a ps and a N.. so I owned a PS3 and a Wii...

that said your option are lacking the reason why I always knew I was going to get a wii.... The VC, the moment the said that I just thought of getting all old-school RPG taht I liked, teh zelda series and the castlevania series. Have I enjoy the wii with new games? Of course the library is quite good. But that was the REASON why I got it.

I've always gone with Nintendo.

Mom bought it for the Family but its in my room and I mostly play it :P

I was pretty bored using the same old controls for the same old games so I didn't plan on buying another console after my GC. But then the Wii came around and made me feel like a little kid getting his first console all over again. The fact that it was something that was new and radically different is what ultimatly led me to buying the Wii.
