Nailed it. Plus I"ve always owned nintendo consoles, Wii controls, Virtual Console, GC compatibility, unique titles, and it had Twilight Princess at launch.:PNintendo has all the best franchises.

Motion controls seemed like a nice change, and I've always been a fan of Nintendo, so didn't want to be missing out on any new additions to their franchises. The backwards compatability was nice too, as I went with the Xbox last gen.(And no, I don't regret it.)
The wii's library appealed to me the most when I was deciding which console to buy. Ps3 was too expensive, and bad experiences with microsoft hardware in the past also turned me away from the other consoles. I had never owned a nintendo console before, so vc and bc were huge deciding factors. I am very satisfied with my purchase. My girlfriend also offered to split it with me, which was the final deciding factor, once she played wii fit and wii sports at a friends house.
All the systems are unique to a certain extent. The wasn't necessarily a revolution, It is basically a computer mouse, TV remote and those plug and play games that they used to try to sell. One game had an actual bat and another game came with a snowboard. Nintendo found away to put all those together and get rather ok results depending on how it is used. It has it's good side as well as it's bad side.
More games doesn't always better. Quality over quantity.
The systems are about even when it comes to top tier titles
Wii has it's first Party
Sony has it's first party and friendships with a few third parties
Microsoft pays for third parties.
The fanboyism has gotten way out of hand this generation and it's mostly because of price tags
I bought the Wii beacuse of the "Wii Mania"going on at the time, plus I'm a lomg-time fan of Nintendo's franchises.
The only Nintendo system I never bought was the N64, otherwise I've owned them all and enjoyed them.
- Nintendo first party titles - Getting away from the "lets just stick with what worked" mentality that is found on the other two platforms - Motion controls - Niche titles like Little King's Story and Muramasa: The Demon Blade - Most importantly, new gaming experiences. Something all avid gamers should be looking for -- new gameplay experiencesHaziqonfire
I agree. There are other reasons for my choosing of the Wii, but this sums it up well enough.
This isn't system wars so I don't think you'll be getting too much of a rise out of that here. :P[QUOTE="channtheman1"][QUOTE="Jaysonguy"]
It's the only next gen console offered this gen so I needed it first

1. Yeah, I've been pretty much head injury free lately so I avoid that place lol
I just saw that everyone was doing the same old same old as far as hardware and the Wii was the only one willing to do something new.
2. Now I didn't know Nintendo would bail on it's users with software by releasing the Gamecube library over again with price hikes but as far as hardware goes they're the ones who offered a next gen system and I needed to own it in my house and look at it daily.
1. I feel the same as Jason Guy as, the X360 and Ps3 were just graphically enhanced version of thier predecessor. If the Wii followed suit in the same way, I probably wouldn't have bought a console this generation.
2. There game library is lack luster. Yes, we have some good titles, but they are few and far between. It is dissapointing to see a Nin team working hard to bring us Metriod 1 & 2. Should we be suprised? Nin has a history of re-releasing its titles, Zelda 4 swords is on just about every system and Zelda OoT is on 3.
wow! i didnt go with the wiI! where is the poll for that!noobeater55What are you doing on the Wii forums, then?
my strongest regret was the lack of memory. you have to transfer data to wii before using it, plus sometimes when i transferred it back to the wii it would say the memory was there but when i played the game nothing registeredNintendo games.

I went with Wii because I expected 3rd Party Publishers to react with some measure of common sense instead of mindless fanboyism to its success.
I got it because-at the time-I wanted to collect every Nintendo console, and the Wii was the one I wanted the most.
I also got it because I didn't have enough money to buy the other two, and my Cousin already has a 360 that I play when I have the chance, so I decided to get the Wii for that reason, too.
Zelda, that is all. Ever since playing A Link To The Past in '96 I just have to keep getting Nintendo's consoles and handhelds. Mind you I'm not some blind fanboy who will just follow Ninty wherever it goes and refuses to acknowledge other companies and games, its just that they have the games I want and the others dont (stuff like Halo or MGS don't interest me)
Mostly for the clasics like Zelda, Mario Bros, Metroid, and others........But there are no hardcore games for the system so thats why I have a PS3 and use to have a 360??
