no they rate accurately for the most part the problem is they sometimes overrate on the other systems and they do some things weird like give warioware a 9.1 and zelda an 8.8, the 8.8 was about accurate but the 9.1 wtf?? its a good party game but not outstanding and def way to short. people were mad about strikers getting a 7.5 but the description of 'good' fits it, but i can see how thats unfair when a good game on another system gets an AA rating
cause gamespot hate the wii (and it's really starting to piss me off)
i can seriously imagine them adding a new negative badge to their horrendous new rating system named "wii game" (with a description something like "while this game had potential, the company behind it made the ufortunant choise of releasing it to nintendo's casual-friendly system"). i mean, that's about the only way they can explain rediculous scores such as MP3's 8.5.
and seriously, look at how many wii games they review compared to the 360.
and then, before reviewing ghost squat, new blood, zapper\links crossbow's training, and Geometry Wars: Galaxies (just some of the major wii games that "slipped past their radar", they go on to review Anubis II, pure shovelware than no one would have even looked at anyway.
obviously just another attempt to color the wii as a casual system with no good games.
i know that this has been said before, but seriously, they should just stop reviewing wii games altogether. they already lost their credibility in the eyes of anyone who has a wii anyway... the only purpose at this point is to make xbox 360 fanboys happy.
seriously everytime i think a new game that looks cool is coming out it always gets a bad rating on gs.but then i go onto ign and it gets a good ratingbobdood99
well ign on the other hand acts like they dont care about any game...they give almost all their games good ratings...so u have gs that is strict but has more thorough reviews and then u have ign w/ their wimpy reviews
I agree that GS kind of feeds the Wii leftovers while they feed the 360 a kings meal. But You know what I'd do right now, Delete your thread right now. Otherwise Gamespot will say that you are violating one of their rules and give you a warning. They gave me a warning for asking peoples opinions about my friend dislike about the Wii's graphics. He thinks Mario Galaxy look ugly. So I got a warning from them. Chances are I'll get a warning from them about this message too. I said in my thread that I created that I love the Wii and I'm not bashing it but my friend is and I still get warning.
Delete your thread dude before its to late!!
Merry Christmas
[QUOTE="jorgeluisbl"]I think because they compare the games with the PS3 and 360 which have much better grpahicsbobdood99good point i wonder if thats why metroid prime 3 and mario galaxy got such good ratings.i think gs is just grapfics fanatics.
Metroid deserved a 9.5 not the 8.5 that it got!!!!!!!
Gamespot are harsh a lot of the time, but they're usually pretty fair with some of the more hyped games. It depends on the reviewer.
As for IGN, they're just plain stupid.

Come on, you should realize that those descriptions don't mean sh*t. 7.5 is just about on the border between medium and mediocre nowadays.
The way I look at it, gs does underrate some games but when you think about it if gamespot says it's a 9.0 game than it's almost a guarantee you'll like it, I played a sims game at my cousin's house and I hated all sims games, gamespot gave it a review and we played it and I almost decided to buy it but I still disliked sims games so I didn't. But gamespot gave it a good review on a game franchise I always hated and almost bought it. I now know that they may be critics on everything but that's why I prefer gamespot because they point out every bad thing and every good thing... Ok most of the time for the good stuff but it doesn't matter because when they say a game is good it's almost a guarntee good, I love wario ware actually and so did gamespot, I think the reason why I like this site so much because their ratings go hand in hand with mine. I gave a game a bad review but when I picked it up and played it again I thought about my mark and would have given the game a new one, and it was really close to gamespot's rating.
Merry Christmas!
