If you seriously think that the ps3 and 360 are overpriced you are so oblivious.....you seriously need enough electricity to power a city for one of those things.....mainly because your getting a MEAN piece of hardware.......and do you know one fact which conveys that theyre not over priced?.....sony and microsoft both lose money for each console they sell........Nintendo make money.....because they need to and becasue the Wii isnt very powerful but still

But I still prefer the Wii but ya 250 $ is a lot of money because it comes with a game Wii-Sport. if it didn't then it would be 200 instead.
Sony loses money for each ps3 but the xbox 360 is making money and so is Nintendo. Price and demand people are buying the wii and 360 so they could make however much they want
Cheap? Since when was Wii cheap? 360$ console is cheap? Yes, I live in Europe. Wii isn't cheap, quite the opposite actually since it only has 1 good game and the next one(s) might be released next fall. Wii might cost less than xbox or PS3 and LoZ:TP owns all PS3 and xbox games but it's still expensive. Well I am a poor student who doesn't get allowance from his parents so that might also affect my answer. 360$ for a console with only one game (at the moment) is just too much. Although people bought xboxes for Gears of War, which isn't very good IMO, but those were zealots who worship microsoft so it doesn't count. Linux reigns supreme over microsoft's crappy OS.
The PS3 is overpriced... for a console. It may be underpriced for a Blueray player, but few people would even know bluray even exists if not for the PS3. So, basically, you're financing Sony's bid in the format-wars. Its graphics are still flat out beautiful, but what's the point if the gameplay can't hold your interest? If a game comes out that seems to be worth $600, then maybe I'll buy one.
Yeah, Sony is taking a hit on the $600 Blu-Ray player, but that's only because they know if they can get them into people's homes they will make a killing on HDTV's and Blu-Ray movies that will more than make up for their losses on the ps3.

Actually it has a DVD reader. So you fail miserably. They just don't enable it for DVD playback, which is a bigger waste imo. At least Sony's making use of the space for their games AND letting you watch your Blu-Ray movies.

 Even if it gives you space to play you're games and play blu ray movies, the price tag for the PS3 is way over the top. Remember 3DO? That system used to cost $700 back in the day, what happend? It didn't sell much as how the SNES and Genesis did. This is how the way things go, if a company gives a consumer a over priced system from their competitors, who is gonna gets the most sales? The system thats on the regular price range or the cheapest (360 & Wii).
You seriously don't know crap about tech. THE WII DOES USE THE NEWEST TECHNOLOGY!!! NOT ONLY IN THE WIIMOTE. THEY JUST USED IT DIFFERENTLY THAN SONY AND MICORSOFT. They managed to pack 2 to 3 times the power of the cube into something almost 1/4 the size and ALOT LESSÂ Power consuption and managed to keep itcool and stable, if thats not Latest technology i don't know what is. But yes 250 is still alot ofmoney but for the reason I just mentioned
It is the latest technology, it just isn't the higher-powered and more advanced technology as the other 2 systems. More Power = More Money (generally) But that doesn't mean the Wii is a bad system at all.
I own both a Wii and 360, and they are both good systems. I would buy a PS3 but there are two reasons from keeping me from buying one. One being the price, and the other is...i really dont feel like dishing out almost 700 bucks for a system and one game...that being MGS4. I think the PS3 will be a great system in the next year...just need to drop the price a bit by atleast 100 bills...
The Wii is a good system because Nintendo has always been consumer friendly, and the 360 has taken a page out of Nintendos book by being consumer friendly as well.
Just give all three systems like...2 or three years when the developers unlock the full potental on all three systems and the Wii will have 360 graphics, while the 360 will PS3 graphics and the PS3's graphics will be..well...amazing lol. And the gameplay for all three systems will get better, and better over time.

I don't think that Wii can even compare to 360 even in the future. The Wii has one 700odd mhz processor, 360 has 3 at 3.5 ghz plus gpu etc But it is fun. I like them both
The hardware is not as powerful as the other two systems and Nintendo usually releases their systems ate good prices, Microsoft and Sony usually overprice their products.
1. As many have said, the Wii doesn't use the highest-end graphics and processing hardware, but it's smaller, cooler, quieter, etc.
2. Both the 360 AND the PS3 sell for much less than what they cost to manufacture (Last I checked the PS3 cost around $800 or so per unit to build, then Sony turns around and sells it at a $200 loss). The Wii actually sells for MORE than it costs to make. Ergo, the Wii is overpriced, not the other 2.
I think the thing to remember is the reason the wii is cheaper because what makes it great is the fact it is innovative. Innvovation is not expensive, it requires brains (and maybe luck). What makes Xbox 360 and PS3 good is the stuff inside them. This is expensive. Thus the price is greater.
To the people who were saying the 360 is actually more expensive than the PS3, you have a point, and I was thinking along the same lines. Except it is optional. Which means if you don't have an HDTV, then you have wasted £100 on a HDDVD player. If you don't have Wi-Fi, then once again, you haven't wasted your money. If you don't need it to have a 60gb harddrive (and with the ability to stream media off your computer and iPod why would you) then you don't have to get it. If you need all the features then yes, the PS3 will cost you less in the long run (excluding power,) but most people still don't have HDTVs and if they do, probably don't have vast HDDVD or Blu-Ray disk collections.Â

4.$250 is Allt of money, BUT i think its worth it, Better library of games ( as of now), Allot more fun ( because of the sensors). Also, the wii is selling Really Well and i am guessing the Wii price will have a big price drop by the end of the year... $250 is worth the price for a Wii.. First of all the Wii has the worst library of games, casue there all crapy party games developers make to get easy money.
