I'm sure the DS has sold more then the Wii is cause it's cheaper and has been out longer...I think the game will be better on the Wii anyways.paradigm68How would it be better? :|
Wario already got a platforming game for the DS, now it's the wii's turn. MinishdrivebyHm...that makes a lot sense. Although, I can't help but feel the handheld gamers got cheated. Besides, why do they decide just now to put the series on a console?
Not the point I was trying to make. >_> My point was the series started on handhelds, and up until this point has stayed on handhelds, so why are they suddenly putting on a home console. I don't have a problem with it, it just doesn't make sense to me. It's like if they were to make a full fledged Pokemon game for the Wii. Also, the game looks to have as much content as a DS game. You honestly expect me to pay 50$ for a game that will only last me about 5 or 6 hours (I'm assuming) when I could pay for wit 35$ or 40$ on a handheld? Why not?
Using your logic, nintendo should only make their games for the DS since it sold more

Yeah I wondered the same thing. I mean the game's did well on handhelds so it'd make sense to keep them on handhelds. Plus Nintendo just reinvented platformers with the release of Super Mario Galaxy. A 2D platformer is a step backwards.Lyphe2k
More of a step sideways, on a parallel path.
I think the title answers the question. Wario Land Shake It. If it were on the the DS, I suspect all your shaking would come to no avail. And besides, the Wii needs some more 2D platformers!Raiko101I agree with you on that level but for the "Shake" you could just move your stylus up and down the screen.
There's no way those animations could have been done on the DS. And if they are somehow possible...well Nintendo has been hiding what the DS can do from us.
Also, the game has a few anime cutscenes, and I have never seen a DS game produce those(though that may be possible).

how so?
Mario Galaxy changed what people thought 3D platformers were capable of. Anything now is a step down which includes my all time favorite platformers as well (Jak & Daxter, Ratchet and Clank, Banjo etc..). Going back to 2D platformers, of all things, is not a sideway step, it's a step down. This game is much better suited to the DS (besides the shaking of course).

I don't think anyone thinks that the DS can handle this game's graphics with the same calibur.
Although, if you were talking about animations, then I don't see why the DS can't. Professor Layton had phenominal animated cut scenes.

Well it wouldn't be the first time Wario was on the consoles in a platforming game Wario World (which was 3D) was on the gamecube.

actually, im going to have to disagree with you. galaxy did not change my perceptions at all. I thought it was way overhyped and im a longtime nintendo fan. honestly, im looking forward to the new banjo kazooie game than anything

Wario Land and Wario World are completely different. The most obvious difference (as you stated) is World=3D and Land=2D. Also, Wario World was a cheap attempt to bring the awesomeness of Wario Land into 3D. (Which it did not) It may have had Wario and it may have been a platformer, but I don't consider it a true Wario platformer. Kind of like that Wario platformer on the DS. Besides, how many 2D platformers do you see on modern day consoles anymore? (Not saying anything bad against 2D platformers)[QUOTE="Minishdriveby"]Hm...that makes a lot sense. I'd be more inclined to call it a 2.5D platformer, but nonetheless good point. :)Yeah The wii is a great console to have 2D/2.5D games on it because the controller can be turned and made into a nes like controller with a D-pad and 2 buttons. But there are a couple of Shoot em ups for the wii like Blast works which is also 2d.
The DS has too many good games, the Wii needs some too. magiciandudeI'm starting to think that is Nintendo's logic as well.
I don't know why people complain about the game being 2-D. It's not necessarily low-tech; just because it's an older style doesn't make it any less fun. Besides, with 2-D, you don't have to wrestle with the camera and other grievances with 3-D (though I like 3-D as well).BoomarleyI'm not complaining, I just thought it was a little strange was all. :| As a matter of fact, I prefur 2D gameplay over 3D in some ways.
I don't know really. All I know is I'm happy more 2D games are coming back on consoles :)Haziqonfire
this one.

This.
I don`t know why Nintendo initially decided to make it for the Nintendo Wii. All I know is that the DS wouldn`t handle the graphics and some of the animations.
