reading these posts makes me wonder if i'm the only one that liked the fact that there were people there for you to talk to. i mean, they're like "galactic feds", they have to be everywhere. if so, then how come they never showed up before? now they still dont show up and the planets are still desolate most of the time, but the parts where there were people around were great.

Seriously TC, you need to understand that there were Metroids before Retro took over. R&D 1 (which is headed by Yoshio Sakomoto, the co-creator of the entire series) is going to be in charge of other M. Team Ninja is being brought solely for their experience with 3D games and they will have very little say in the direction of the game as a whole. The fact that Metriod is going back to its roots on a home console is a very, very good thing. And you also need to understand that Metroid is not at all best suited in a first person perspective. The Primes had to make many changes to the formula to compensate for being in first person, like the lock-on system or the lack of a true space jump. While I'm not saying all of these changes were necessarily bad, they were not true to the Metroid name. The Primes are fun games, but Retro needs to move on before they get stale and/or they change the games to the point where they are no longer Metroid games (which basically happened in MP3.) The sooner you accept that there will be no more FPA Metroids, the happier you'll be.
