I've got a question about Dead Space: Extracton.

I have the original Dead Space for PS3, and my girlfriend loves it. However, she really doesn't know how to use the dualshock because she's never gamed before and so she's resigned to watching me play it. Now that I have a Wii, I really want to get DS:E for her to play... is it easier to play control-wise than Dead Space? I'm hoping since it's on rails she can pick it up easily.

Any help is appreciated

WreckEm711
Yes, it would be perfect for her, but it's probably better as a rental (unless you can find it for really cheap, which you probably could at this point). It's a pretty short game, like 6-8 hours if I remember right.

Great! I felt so bad watching her walk into corners pointed straight up trying to figure out the controls. Thanks for the input!

Does somebody knows a Co-op Phantasy Star-like game... That plays offline, Monster Hunter Tri had do the trick, but you can't level up the offline multiplayer.Supersegs
Tales of Symphonia 2 is the only other co op Wii RPG I can think of. A quick search also brings up zero other results.

I'm really undecided on what to do... I can buy Donkey Kong Country, Goldeneye, NBA Jam (360), or Black Ops (360). 360 games $10 more or I can wait to see if there will be better sales.

Hows everyone enjoying Epic Mickey? I saw it at the shop today.. wasn't sure whether to get it or not. Does it have a similar feel to Banjo Kazooie?

I can't say from personal experience, but according to reviews and those who have already played it, it plays similarly to Banjo Kazooie.

Help me pick two out of these three:

Sonic Colors

Epic Mickey

Kirby's Epic Yarn

Already grabbed up Goldeneye, DKC Returns and waited with the patience of Job for NBA Jam (360) for the sake of HD and online play.

I'm leaning heavily towards Sonic and Mickey and want someone who has Kirby to try to sell me on it... Stick up for your favorites and help me out so I have no regrets!

Edit: Just got done reading the reviews for Epic Mickey on metacritic and it sounds like the controls are busted. Definitely could be swayed to pick up KEY now.

From what I understand Mickey is a love it/ hate it type of game. If you've read reviews and it doesn't seem like its for you then you should give it a pass. Are you a fan of Sonic? If so, you should pick up Sonic colors, but beware, it is VERY difficult, to the point of often being frustrating. KEY is a very slow paced, relaxing game, its soundtrack is superb and the visuals are adorable, but its not for everyone, if you enjoyed previous Kirby games, or games like Flower or Flow, you will probably enjoy KEY.

Thanks! I'll definitely go with KEY and Sonic. My interest in Mickey was due to the hype and visuals. With all the reviews that say the controls are broken it gets to a point where it's more of a fact than opinion.

I am looking for a realistic racing simulator with deep customization options. Not interested in games which feature illegal activites like fleeing from the police ala Need For Speed. Are there any such games available for Wii?

super mario galaxy 2 is top dog in the wii library and best game I've played this generation. For Epic Mickey, if the camera doesn't bother you and you are aware that isn't a heavy combat oriented game and your focus relies specifically on your choices with what to do within the world of Disney....then absolutely go for it!

This is a post I've moved here with the suggestion from a mod. Posted it in the Wii section (oops). Hey all. My wife got me a Wii for my birthday. I'm not a big console player - I play mostly World of Warcraft, but she'd heard me talking about it last year and went ahead and got it for me. WoW is and example of a game that's over my wifes head completely but the Wii so far she's been slowly getting into with me. I had a NES and a SNES and stopped there till I got a PS2, I didn't even play my PS2 much tbh as no games really drew me in and I didn't want to shell out 50 bux for something I'd end up either not playing, or beating in a few days. So far, the Wii has been great - but I'm having a hard time finding out game details without having to look them up online. Plain and simple. I want games that are playable co-op style or 2 players simultaneously. Nothing deathmatch style, as I'd be sure to win every time, but sports and family games where she's on equal footing as me even though she's a beginning gamer. The game boxes don't help much as '2' could mean anything that involves 2 players, but not necessarily a co-op mode. Even here on Gamespot I'm finding it difficult to tell if games are 2 player co-op until it's in the details under the good/the bad or I read the entire review. I'm pretty good at most games - I consider myself an intermediate to advanced gamer because I can handle most situations. But I really find myself enjoying complex games way less. So, for example....Donkey Kong Country Returns would be a no-go for me, personally. I got New Super Mario Wii and even that I'm not liking too much as there's way too much coordination necessary in some cases. I'm sure I'll beat it IF I ever decide to pick it up and play it solo - but it's def. an example of a game I'd rather not play and that my wife def. can't handle (she walks into baddies - she TRIES to jump but the hand eye coord. just isn't there...yet?). Games that I find myself enjoying are Mario Kart (I loved Mario Kart on the SNES as well) and Wii Sports/Sports Resort. She likes it too though she generally doesn't even place (mostly 5th to 10th). She's way better (and even beats me) at Wii Sports/Sports Resort. Mario Galaxy 2 is also growing on me and she controls Luma like a pro in just about 20m of play (I got that game because I read someone say their kid played it with them), however she also in time says things like "is this all I can do?" and won't switch with me because "being Mario looks too hard", so I'm between a rock and a hard place. Too complex and she can't do it, not enough things to do and she's bored. That being said....consider my wife with the gaming ability of a younger child (that finds it difficult to remember complex 'moves'). She doesn't remember complex or complicated controls at all, even if she masters it now, by the next time she'd have forgotten them. Consider me a lazy gamer, I no longer like or enjoy games where I have/need to worry about running and jumping excessively or anything that's going to make my heart feel like it's about to explode. For the most part, we want to play somewhat relaxed but also able to have lots of laughs and enjoy ourselves. Wii Sports/Resort is an example of 'relaxed'...so don't take the word at face value. Relaxed means, not Donkey Kong Country Returns/Super Mario Wii. I know it may be a tough recommendation to ask for - but can anyone think of some Wii games in this scenario? I may be picking up Kirby's Epic Yarn soon as that looks like it could be some fun for both of us (since Kirby can't die). There's an ad with a red wii on TV and a game the family plays with horse racing (cute horses, not realistic) - anyone know what that is? So, games based on these suggestions: We love Mario Kart, Wii Sports/Wii Sports Resort, Super Mario Galaxy 2. I'd like games with a great co-op mode so I can play with my wife (Mario Galaxy 2 I wouldn't consider a GREAT co-op game) and/or my friends online. I'm already considering Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Mario and Sonic at the Winter Olympic Games is already heading to me in the mail. I'd be willing to consider really fun sporting games (no baseball or soccer) and racing games like Sonic Racing (also in my "I want" list and targeted by me). I have Spyro but haven't played it. Also Monsters vs. Aliens...but haven't played it either. Considering Mario Party 8 but I keep changing my mind - going to do more reading on it (seems like Wii Sports/Resort may have filled MP8 role). Thanks a whole lot.

I know exactly what you mean, I am moving in with my soon-to-be fiance here in not too long and I wanted to find games that we could enjoy together as shes not really a gamer.

Here is what I found that interested us! Hopefully something catches your eye.

Lego Harry Potter(All of the Lego ____ games have really fun co-op thats really easy to pick up for beginners)

Lego Indiana Jones

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Adventures

Wii Party(Party game, based on reviews it seems to be better quality than Mario Party 8)

WarioWare: Smooth Moves

Ghostbusters(Very fun co-op)

Excitebots: Trick Racing(You mentioned Mario Kart, and aside from Mario Kart Wii this should be a nice alternative if you want something different to race together on)

Epic Mickey looks pure awesome. Don't listen to the snobby Gamespot review. As for Super Mario Galaxy 2, you can't go wrong with that title. Played that one for 54 hours!

Wii Sports: Resort features 12 games to choose from. The graphics are very cartoonish, and I'd reccomend it. It's a great game for the whole family to play or with friends."

Game is REALLY fun, and definitely a challenge, the visuals are really nice too, the starlight carnival levels in particular are eye popping

I'm sure you must have heard of Super Mario Galaxy1 and 2? Sunshine was what inspired these 2 titles which are gonna be the closest thing to sunshine you could get. You could also download on VC super mario 64 which goes even further back. Essentially they're all alike. SMG 1 and 2 being, imo as well as many others i'm sure, better.

I have a 1000 points left for the Virtual Console and Wiiware and I was looking for a Castlevania game. Witch one should I get? Rebirth looks cool and so does Super Castlevania IV and Rondo of Blood..... and the classic Nes ones as well......

I really don't know :s

SoftAsBaboonAss

Anyone have a suggestion?

I do:

Either get:

Castlevania and Castlevania 3 for the NES (Two is not great)

or

Super Castlevania IV (Remake of the original Castlevania)

:)

Plain and simple. I want games that are playable co-op style or 2 players simultaneously. Nothing deathmatch style, as I'd be sure to win every time, but sports and family games where she's on equal footing as me even though she's a beginning gamer. Neoprimal

One of metroid: other m's big complaints is lack of replayability.

Donkey Kong Country Returns is being praised for its replayability.

I would go with DKCR

No game has been more disappointing on the Wii than Metroid Other M. I do NOT recommend it at a full retail price even for an insane Metroid fan. Getting it is nice, but not for $50 or whatever you pay full retail price at.

Is Sonic Colors worth it? The advertisements looks really cool, and the graphics look really cartoonish and stylish, but I'm not sure if I want this game. Anybody on here know if it is worth it?

WreckEm711

Game is worth it. Best Sonic game since Adventure series.

Game is REALLY fun, and definitely a challenge, the visuals are really nice too, the starlight carnival levels in particular are eye popping

Thank you for the advice. :)

Wouldn't go that far! Other M isn't Prime level, but then what is? Disaster for example was much more disappointing for me.

Otther M isn't just not at Prime level, its not at Super, Return of Samus, or even Fusion level. This is a series that has been built around excellence and a game like Other M that is just good, just doesn't cut it. @Tigerman get Donkey Kong, you will enjoy it more.

I must have been watching GiantBomb Quicklook for Rabbids Go Home for more than 4 times already. Now it looks great, but is it something worthwhile to own? I'm actually thinking about getting this. And how much are these now?
