i just recently exchanged friend codes with my cousin, and we tried sending messages to eachother

it seemed like it took at least 10 minutes to get the message. i know its not my internet because i surf the web just fine

i just dont see why it isnt faster. when i message people on XBL it appears instantly on the other person's console

I just added my friend earlier today and it was very slow. First we exchanged friend codes, both added each other. Then 10 minutes later I finally got the option to send him a message, which he received about a minute or two later. He sent me a message and I got it about the same time. So it takes a while to register friends (both add each other, then wait for it to process), but after that messages are pretty quick to reach the console.

For me it did, yes. I'm not sure if that was just a coincidence or not. While we were adding each other we both commented on how long a process adding a friend is, and how grateful we are for the XBL service on our 360s, lol.

well, there could be interferences. it sometimes depends on the distance too. just be patient, you'll get your message eventually.

The WIi basicaly sends and receivies e-mails. E-mails sometimes are slow depending on the net traffic, etc. So, there you go :) (and yes, you can e-mail your wii :P ).

Lol, willing to pay $50 to get your email messages faster.  XBox live is nice service but your example is weak.

He said that was just ANOTHER reason - there are several reasons why Xbox live is MUCH better than any other console's online service, especially the Wii's. Just because he didn't list all the examples doesn't mean it's not true. ;)

How long is you guy's messages taking to get from console to console? Me and my girlfriend will send messages almost everyday and it takes no time to get there.

yep

i like that along with private chat, matchmaking, marketplace, demos, XBL arcade, etc.

i see what nintendo is tring to do (online 24/7), but im not expecting a flawless service because its their first time trying online. MS had 5 years with the Xbox to perfect XBL, and thats the reason its the best

I would love to see direct connection message software in the wii (aka Chat) though. But that kind of services can't receive messages 24x7.
